Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: …we should try meditating on the other person’s soul, “a portion of G‑d from Above”, which has fallen so low, and we should have compassion for His holy spark.

Pastor John Tolle brought up Job and his friends in his sermon yesterday, too, and raised his eyebrow at Job’s friends, who were quick to give him advice.

I asked for help from the rabbis and Ascent shared DovBer Pinson: “Jewish mystical masters emphasize viewing others in a positive light.”

Thank You, God, for answering my prayer!

The Arc Speak coming off Pastor John’s sermons hits everything I write about except mercy.

DovBer Pinson: It is written, “Let your eyes be in the field that they are reaping” (Ruth 2:9) which is to be explained with the verse, “He who has a good, generous eye will be blessed“. (Proverbs 22:9) The eye denotes wisdom, and in truth “looking” is the lower level of wisdom; as one looks and regards something, he brings blessing into that thing. For when he looks at an object, he knows that object is as nothing before the blessed L-rd – meaning that it is truly naught and nothing except for His divinity which is manifest within it….Without Him it is utterly naught, in keeping with the verse, “…but what are we?” (Ex. 16:7) Through this kind of look and regard, he draws down supernal energy to that object from the divinity of the blessed L-rd. This is the recondite sense of the verse, “He who has a good, generous eye will be blessed“: he brings blessing to that object.

Amber Pierce: I had a vision three years ago. I saw seasoned leaders with large reputations and big anointings standing in a circle holding hands. Each leader had someone of the Millennial Age sitting on their shoulders and they were also holding hands. There was a commitment to the future being made by the younger generations to partner with each other against all odds while honoring and working with the elders.

Pastor John Tolle: Keep trusting. Truth wins out. Raise a child in the way he should go…and (eventually) it’ll win out.

Rick Joyner: We will dig down a bit more on this next week, but do not let a day go by without seeking to abide in the protection of the Lord by growing your trust in Him. Do this by seeking to be the best disciple you can be. Make knowing Him and His ways the top priority of your life. Then apply this knowledge by resolving each day to be a better servant of the Lord, living to do His will.

Brat: Rabbi Leiter talked about the word “laws,” where there are two kinds of laws in this week’s Torah portion. One kind of law is “chukim” and it refers to ALL Torah commandments, even those that do not have apparent reasons to be completed. The other word for law is the general “mitzvoth,” which I understand as doing the right thing, cuz it’s the right thing to do. I’ve been reading the biography of General Vinegar Joe Stilwell and the Army does things like “hazing” and giving absurd commands from superiors to train underlings to do things that don’t make sense. This training is important in the field where one has to take orders without question. But at the same time it must be balanced with gentlemanly manners, comportment, and respect with dignity. I get it that Ephesus was acknowledged for her perseverance and enduring hardships. (Rev 2:3) I really and totally understand the need for Endurance, but why does Pastor John Tolle keep riding the horse of Perseverance? What are his superiors demanding of him? Even the Pony Express changed horses on their delivery routes. Where’s the Mercy?

Rabbi Yaakov Beasley: Jeremiah is arrested by the officers and placed on trial as a false prophet. They claim that Jeremiah’s prophecies of destruction and exile contradict the eternal bond between God and His people. However, the elders of Israel come to Jeremiah’s defense. A century earlier, the prophet Micah also spoke against the city at the time of the Assyrian invasion. Rather than feel threatened, the righteous king Hezekiah led the people in repentance, and God helped his people.

Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: Now it would appear that these two ideas are contradictory. Behar connotes a strong sense of self, albeit in holiness, while Bechukotai connotes self-negation. The lesson, however, is that we require both realities.

Rob Radosti: One of the easiest ways to fall into defeat and stagnancy is to stay out of your rank – or forget you are on assignment. When you are working together with all of the other ranks, you complete the operation!

Brat (in “Letter” 14 May 17): My divine assignment has been to journal and write about what I have gone through (often writing manuscripts in script fashion, giving expression to the journey using their own words.) I have consistently shared the journey and received silence for ten years now. For the sake of God’s Name and His people, I am convinced that God has had me log this journey, so that it will never, ever be repeated again, and Jesus can bring closure on the beast and the dragon that has worked so hard to silence the Truth.

John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; but if you do not, then believe me because of the works themselves.

Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: We need a strong self-image to engage the world. We must impose our reality on the world, and not let the world impose its reality on us. Secondly, we cannot deceive ourselves by believing that we have to understand each detail in Judaism before living according to Torah. Rather we should fulfill the commandments in a way of “do them first and then you will come to understand”. Through perseverance, we will eventually attain the level where Behar is done in a way of Bechukotai, surmounting the world’s challenges because G‑d commanded it; and Bechukotai is performed in the way of Behar, performing all of G‑d’s commandments with vigor and confidence.

Rabbi Beasley: Jeremiah 22:3  Thus saith the LORD: Execute ye justice and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor; and do no wrong, do no violence, to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

4  For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.

James W. Goll: In the Old Testament, the priests pleaded the needs of the people before the Lord while the prophets pleaded the interests of God before the people. The two roles are combined in what we call “prophetic intercession”—a watchman-intercessor prays back to God an inspiration regarding a human concern that comes from God’s own heart.

Brat (in “Net” 13 May 17): When I know where the conversation is headed, I’m not tense. It’s about the Flow. When we just keep looping, then it gets my sense of purpose. The doubts flood in and I question, “What’s the point? What’s the use?” Then I have to expend energy fighting off doubt. God’s kingdom is supposed to be here and stay here.

Ben Lim: What does the Kingdom look like? What does Heaven on Earth look like? What does it look like for the Bride to be free and fully alive in Christ’s confident love?

Brat (in “Net” 13 May 17): There was no doubt in my mind and heart that the beast was trying to swallow me with the “river” of blockages.

Revelation 12: ¹⁵ Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent.

Well, this has now happened.

Ben Lim: Unfortunately, the Church has been bound by religion for too long, and for centuries the Church has idolized ritual doings and systematic works, keeping people from truly becoming who God created them to be. With that, creativity has been bound and locked down and even condemned. Expressions of freedom and individualism have been banned and even demonized in some circles. However, all of this is changing! There is an outbreak of creative power coming to the Bride once again!

Brat (in “Letter” 14 May 17): The serpent has already spewed out water like a river to overtake me and sweep me away with the torrent. (Rev 12:15) And those who have obeyed God’s commandments and have held to the testimony of Jesus (v 17) have fought the good fight and their words are in the scripts. It’s the silence that merely gives the dragon more airtime.

C.N.A. Daily News: “Your silent presence, which is more eloquent than a flood of words, your prayers, the daily offering of your sufferings in union with those of Jesus crucified for the salvation of the world, the patient and even joyful acceptance of your condition – all these are a spiritual resource, an asset to every Christian community,” he [Pope Francis] said.

Brat (in “Letter” 14 May 17): Lord, my voice may be quiet on the journal page, but it is loud in my heart: “Do not hold this sin against them!” Give wisdom to the Bagel Boys. Talk to them on their Sabbath. Help them to help us.

Binyomin Aidlman: The Torah wants a Jew to cleave to the source of his life and spiritual vitality during the festival. That is why he must make a distinct and clear-cut statement to this end by leaving his home and setting out on the road to Jerusalem.

Brat: Maybe you could talk to Pastor John Tolle? His sermon was on why people suffer. There seems to be a theme unfolding here.

Brat: After dinner I parked and rested. I snuggled with God. He was not talkative. I could feel the cosmic pressure on my blood cells and joints, as the cosmic forces collided. All I could do was sigh. The odometer had clicked over 148,666. I knew things were coming to a head in God’s corner. Man was repeating his loopings. There was nothing I could do but pray for God.

Rabbi YY Jacobson: Are You Still the Chosen People?

Root Source: This week, the weekly Torah reading Behar-Bechukotai speaks about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years, laws regulating commerce and the redemption of slaves. It also contains a vivid description of the rewards for observing G‑d’s commandments and the series of punishments that will befall us if we choose to disregard them. The Torah then discusses different types of gifts given to the Temple, and the animal tithe.

Brat: The only thing I would differ with you in commenting on this statement, is the use of the future tense “…will befall us…”. The way I see it, God has already exacted the series of punishments as laid out in the Book of Revelation. This is not future tense, but because this has already taken place (in repeated loopings, I might add), then this is past tense, because it has already befallen us. I don’t know if we see eye to eye on this, but that’s the way I see it. It is what I’ve experienced, and I can only speak for myself in this regard. And for clarification, I do not see God as punishing, the way it is seen as abusive nowadays. A Father holds His children accountable. These days God gets a bad rap for things He did not do.

Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: Rebbe Michel answered that any person who serves G‑d is most certainly blessed for his efforts with all manner of physical and spiritual blessings (as all the commandments are conduits for blessings). Nevertheless, this service has to be done sincerely for G‑d’s sake, with great love, awe and modesty – without even a trace of an ulterior motive, of “serving the Master for the sake of receiving a reward”. If someone is prompted by the thought of gain, he will not be rewarded, because he is motivated by personal benefit. This is the meaning of the words “If you will follow My laws and keep My commandments”: If you serve G‑d properly, as a result, there will be for you a sign, an indicator, viz., the rains will fall at the proper time and the earth will bear fruit. You will see that the blessings come as a result of executing the commandments properly, only for the sake of Heaven. As I heard a young woman recently comment, “It is important to know that G‑d is listening.”

Acts 17:24 The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands,

17:25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things.

Bat: I understand that. But we are not saved by what we know. I am still parking and praying in my car for the reconciliation of the Churches, as I have for the last ten years. When I ask for help, some in my orbit question that my motives may not be pure. I worship You, God!

Rick Joyner: We recently did a cursory study of the “four winds of the earth” and how they unfolded over history. Next, we will cover how the sealing of the bondservants is taking place at this time, and how they will keep from taking “the mark of the beast.”

C.N.A. Daily News: “Jesus will pass close to you in the Blessed Sacrament as a sign of his closeness and love for you,” he [Pope Francis] continued. “Count on the prayers of the Church, which from every corner of the world rises up to heaven for you and with you. God is our Father, and he will never forget you.”

Brat: Holy God, please honor the work You did through Jesus on the Mount of Olives. The Seven Arches and the Seven Churches keep looking.

DovBer Pinson: The opposite is equally true. When a person with an evil, ungenerous eye stares at the object and is impressed by it, thinking, “How lovely [or handsome] that object is,” he makes it a matter of worth by itself. Thus he is a “whisperer who separates away the Divine Friend“. (Proverbs 16:28) This is because, by his regard and stare, that object is cut off from its root-source [!] of energy – divinity. As it is known, such staring forms a “vessel” [a place or situation for bad influence in the world] and as a result, the “evil eye” prevails (May Heaven spare us!). Anna Blake: As I stepped closer to get some spinach, it sounded like she was doing stand-up comedy but I couldn’t tell who she was talking to. A little boy stood by her side and a man was buzzing around like a hornet, doing a hissing scream-whisper at a little girl backed up against the apple counter.

Monk (in “The Divine Break” 15 May 17): Honestly, I’m looking at all this and wondering how the fox God is going to reconcile any of this. We are all flawed units! God has already fulfilled His word, and Ephesus remembered how far she had fallen. (Rev 2:5) Is she doing the things she did at first? How is that any different than Thyatira where God told her to just keep doing what she was doing and to hold on to what she has? (Rev 2:25) Yes, the Almighty has many messengers! So, how do we communicate through “Let’s not talk about it”? We are supposed to honor God and keep His word.

Anna Blake: I swallowed hard and hesitated. She was thin and pale, maybe four-years-old with her little shoulders flinched up around her ears. The man bent low to get in her face and rage-whispered even deeper. I heard her tiny voice barely squeak her answer, “I didn’t have to then…”

Brat: Excuse me, rabbi. Are you saying the “ungenerous eye” is Thyatira, because she’s been staring at the crucifix? Is this the “whisperer who separates away the Divine Friend”? The Catholic Church has been gazing at the Crucifix for millennia. And Jesus told Thyatira to hold on to what she has until He comes. (Rev 2:25) This answers your question about what we’re staring at, but I’m clueless as to who’s listening. As God’s library page, I can testify that the Seven Churches were told to “hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.” God talked about listening more than looking in regards to the Churches.

Anna Blake: The woman glanced to the side, still talking, as the man lifted the little girl by her upper arms and slammed her against his chest as he stalked away.

C.N.A. Daily News: Jesus knows the meaning of sorrow and pain, he said, because in his passion and death, Christ took all of our suffering upon himself. He will comfort us and give us strength, just like he did for St. Francisco and St. Jacinta and for every saint, he said. “That is the Church’s ministry: the Church asks the Lord to comfort the afflicted like yourselves, and he comforts you, even in ways you cannot see.”

Anna Blake: Most families have an odd relative. It’s an uncle with hairy ears who drinks too much on holidays or a cousin who converted to a strange religion. We are a species of odd ducks and eventually we quack it out.

Rick Joyner: Our relationship with Christ on every level is more than just knowing it, saying it, or claiming it—it must be a reality in our life. It does not do us any good to say we believe in Christ if we do not actually believe in Him. His teachings lay out what His true followers would be like and do. Likewise, to claim to be His bondservant does not do us any good if we do not live the life of a bondservant. Our goal must be more than just understanding the life of a bondservant—our goal must be to live it.

Mary Pezzulo: Where Will the Poor Go?

Amber Pierce: Example: We had a major flight canceled this week on our return to Israel. You could be thinking, “Oh no!” as flights are canceled, people panic, then you realize you are very grateful to not be getting on a plane with mechanical issues. My family spent the day in the airport trying to figure out how we would get to Israel. Not many flights were going to Europe at the time. We found that the earliest flight out of Dallas, TX that could accommodate us was the next morning directly to Rome. We will spend three days in Rome as a family, then travel to Israel on Thursday. I have been telling my husband Daniel for over a year that I feel like “God is calling us to Rome.” I also learned that President Trump will also visit Rome as well as Jerusalem in his upcoming trip in the next week.

Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: The Sanhedrin recently ruled on the precise boundaries of Jerusalem for the purposes of reinstating the Temple service. This ruling involved mapping specific Biblical references as they apply today. These maps were included in the letter sent to President Trump.

President Trump garnered support from Evangelical Christians and Jews during his campaign by promising to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. His visit Israel next week coincides with the 50th celebration of the unification of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War.

Ben Lim: Knowledge is power. For so long, many people of the earth remained in a blocked-state of darkness in the Medieval Times. These times of darkness were filled with intense witchcraft, idolatry, and other heinous practices. These dark Medieval Times clouded the world until Martin Luther’s Reformation set the captives free! Martin Luther and the great Reformation of the Church was, I believe, the catalytic power of the Renaissance. Do you see the correlation?

Daniel 12: ⁴ But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

Brat (in “Letter” 14 May 17): Holy God, may the rabbis be able to open the scrolls. One of the elders told John not to weep, because You would open the scroll and its seven seals. (Rev 5:5) My “children” have sealed their lips in “Let’s not talk about it” for all these years. Do not hold their sin against them. (Acts 7:60) On this Mother’s Day, may mercy, peace, and love prevail to get the true and faithful story out to the people, so that the right kind of power gets into the right hands. Amen.

Mary Pezzulo: I wonder where the poor will migrate to if the middle-class Catholics manage to get their own way.

Brat: Lord Jesus, if Thyatira held up the crucifix that she’s staring at, then maybe the dragon would follow Peter off the Mount of Olives, so Peter can finish his assignment, the books would be open, and mercy would be evident to all. But to do that, somebody would have to be listening in addition to God.

As I watched her systematically dismantle the moral justifications officials with a major role in the deportation of immigrants tendered to explain their actions, I learned even more from her fearless ministry.

Brat: Precisely! Isn’t that what Revelation 13-18 is all about?

Rick Joyner: We see that the beast is an economic power, and his mark is an economic mark that determines if we can “buy, sell, or trade.” This is because economic power is the dominant power at the end of this age. The Lord called the end of the age “the harvest,” which is when all seeds sown in man mature, the good and the evil. So this will be the time when darkness is in full maturity, but also the light.

Brat (in “Letter” 14 May 17): I am writing you in faith, because I had gotten a question regarding Page+Load+Log. I am deliberately and prophetically drawing that from the cyber world into the spiritual world. The “beast” seemed to be confirming that with this latest global cyber attack that was in the news last night. This week Lana Vawser had said, “I am changing the Script.” Since I have been plagued with computer scripts lately, I am reaching outside the box in obedience to the Holy Spirit in hopes of making an honest (as opposed to consumer) connection with the rabbis. I am God’s library page, have a load that is crashing, and have kept the whole log of the journey.

Acts 17:29 Since we are God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold, or silver, or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals.

Ben Lim: There is a greater level of freedom for the children of God. God wants to break all boxes and limitations in our mind and imagination. The human imagination is the realm of the spirit.

Julie A. Smith: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this word by Ben Lim who is a Millennial pastor from Koreatown in Los Angeles. Some of our Elijah List team went to a digital marketing conference in San Diego in March, and the Lord spoke to me while there about the Millennial Generation, highlighting their importance. After all, they basically rule the digital airwaves! But what He was saying is that the Millennials have a powerful voice and mandate in their generation and they need to be heard from…now!

Daniel 12: ³ Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

Rob Radosti: A radical army of sons and daughters are arising who will invade the enemy’s camp undercover without thinking twice! The Lord is releasing strategic blue prints and weapons of warfare to His children that will cripple the enemy in his tracks – even bringing down evil empires!

Revelation 18: ²³ The light of a lamp
will never shine in you again.
The voice of bridegroom and bride
will never be heard in you again.
Your merchants were the world’s important people.
By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.
²⁴ In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people,
of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.”

Amber Pierce: The vision that I shared above is coming to pass. The Millennial Generation is coming to maturity and will now produce a fruitful harvest! God is releasing a new call over our generation that we are excited to be a part of and we look forward to seeing it mature in this season. I believe that key relationships are strengthening in a way to define covenant as God has ordained it in our time.

Brat (in “Time” 5 May 17): Even if I had the money to save myself, it would not help. Managing money and property is time-consuming. It would take me away from spending time in prayer and enjoying Your company, God, and that is what You’ve called me to do. There are others in the Church who are gifted in managing money and they see God in the flow of it all. I don’t have to do their job. My job is to pray and write and if my time is taken up with these other things, then how can I do what I’m called to do, because the Church doesn’t value or care about what she has?

C.N.A. Daily News: “Today the Virgin Mary asks all of us the same question that, a hundred years ago, she asked the shepherd children: ‘Do you want to offer yourselves to God?’ Their answer – ‘Yes, we do!’ – makes us able to understand and imitate their lives.”

Rob Radosti: “And David inquired at the LORD, saying, ‘Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them?’ And he answered him, ‘Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.'” (1 Samuel 30:8)

Rabbi Yaakov Beasley: In the year 593 BCE, Zedekiah leads a confederation of neighboring states in planning a rebellion against Babylon. Jeremiah warns them against this folly through a very visual symbol. He walks through the streets, wearing a yoke, normally used to harness oxen while plowing, on his neck. When onlookers asked him about his strange behavior, he answered that this was the Divine message: accept the yoke of Babylon and submit peacefully, and live.

Amber Pierce: Submit to Your Individual Callings…No Matter What!

Brat (in “Net” 13 May 17): The Cloud of Witnesses have certainly been there watching everything. Who is my “Saul”? I don’t know. It’s really a collective archetype of “Saul.” Over and over I’ve had to give up my spirit to Jesus. (Acts 7:59)

Daniel 12:1 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.

Rick Joyner: In the beginning of this study of Revelation, we covered the basics of what a bondservant of Christ is, because Revelation was given to the Lord to give to His bondservants. For this reason, only those who are true bondservants can fully understand Revelation. So, understanding and embracing this calling is crucial. We will review those basics to make the necessary connection to this text.

Brat: I wouldn’t be sending out letters to strangers if the Funny Bunnies would write me back.

Monk: Hold on, Brat. You are both coming at the same coin from different sides.

Brat: Whadduyoumean?

Monk: Rick sees the beast as an economic power. No one can “buy, sell, or trade” without this.

Brat: I’m not arguing that. This latest global cyber attack was borne out of greed, to the point of holding people and companies for ransom. If they didn’t upgrade to protect themselves, they had to pay money to get out of cyber hock. I said I was reaching outside the box deliberately and prophetically to make a connection. That doesn’t mean it’s a far reach. I write and when I share I don’t do it for money. By far the majority of the words in my inbox are from solicitors who want money. They want something from me. I have no credit card. I have no savings. I chose to go financially bankrupt and replace it with the spiritual kingdom. In response, the consumer beast took his rage out on me. I have nothing to give that beast. The cyber beast is the horn that the consumer beast rides. When I share my writings, they just get consumed. They are seen as a commodity to be devoured until the next wave, because the Church says nothing.

Rob Radosti: I saw a special division of soldier sons and daughters arising known as the “Holy Ghost Division.” This Holy Ghost Division would move into the enemy’s camp swiftly and undercover – nearly undetectable. They are not afraid to be caught, because they enter battle with the authority of the Head of principalities and powers Himself – Jesus!

Ben Lim: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Genesis 1:1-3)

Binyomin Adilman: One who for some reason has no land can make the pilgrimage and cling to the source of his life and spiritual vitality even without undertaking the actual journey. For his heart is loyal only to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth.

Ben Lim: God is the Creator and He is releasing His Spirit of Creativity to the Church. The Church will not only have creative miracles in supernatural signs and wonders, but we will also have creative miracles in science, medicine, technology, commerce, education, and in every other realm and sphere of society.

Rick Joyner: The word “bondservant” is a nicer way to say “slave.” The bondservant of Christ is the slave of Christ. A slave has nothing of his own, including time, money, resources, and even their family. We become bondservants when we give everything to Him and hold nothing back, as the Lord stated in Luke 14:33: “So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.”

Ben Lim: Intimacy is what leads us to creativity. Intimacy with the Lord is where we gain our ideas. Intimacy with the Lord is where we gain fresh revelations of Heaven. When we are intimate with the Lord, we will create with Him. The Bible calls us co-creators with Christ. We will only be co-heirs and inherit the greater things, if we choose to also be co-creators with Him. The Lord is looking for co-heirs, but more so, for co-creators!

Rick Joyner: Under the Old Covenant, slaves were allowed but servitude was conditional and had an expiration date. If the time came for a slave to be freed but they loved their master and wanted to remain in their service, they could choose to do so. When they did this, they were taken to the doorway of the tent of meeting and were marked by the priest as a permanent slave of their master.

Anna Blake: My jaw tensed as I shot a look at the woman, holding hard eye contact for long seconds. Then I walked toward the checkout, meeting my husband on the way, and keeping my gaze down. I told him that I’d just seen a little girl get grabbed but the voice that came out of my mouth sounded just as tiny as hers.

Ben Lim: Because of the revelation of the Father and the love of Jesus, this Bridegroom paradigm and intimacy is birthing the Church in new ways, forms, shapes, and expressions of her relationship with God. We are looking more like Heaven in all of its vastness and glory. We are moving away from the dead forms of yesterday’s traditions and rituals and we are moving into new molds and matrices of God’s love in today’s generation.

Anna Blake: Your assignment this week is to write something dark or hurtful or embarrassing. Tell a secret or confess to a crime. Be a witness to heartbreaking destruction. Write about it with dispassionate clarity. Use the best words (think tired, write exhausted) and physical descriptions of locations that evoke a feeling. Show the reader what it was like. Be scary like a campfire ghost story. Think about pacing and suspense. Kill your darlings. Remember that whether you write fiction or nonfiction, writing is still an art. Then share your feelings about writing what’s hard to write on our Writing Herd Facebook page. Most of all, keep on writing.

Brat (in “Letter” 14 May 17): Here is the backstory: God promised to hold Eli accountable for his sons’ behavior. (1 Samuel 2) He raised me up among them. I see the Seven Churches as Eli’s sons. I was with each one of them for a time. Then God sent me to the company of prophets. I was among them for “times”, overlapping my time between the Churches and the prophets. Then I reached out to the rabbis for “half a time.” (Daniel 12:7, Revelation 12:14) There is a wall of silence between all of us; a secret; a (cyber?) veil that the Cloud of Witnesses sit behind as they move the chess pieces on the divine chessboard. They service at the entrance to the tent of meeting. (1 Sam 2:22) I am fully aware of how nuts that sounds. I am praying that the power of the holy people has finally been broken and all things will be completed. (Dan 12:7)

Anna Blake: Do I sound dismissive? It isn’t that I don’t have empathy for awkward turkey dinners. Problems are relative. My family kept a filthy secret that some of us barely survived.

Amber Pierce: I had no idea that someone could live in such a state of war, but at the same time be so committed to it. I didn’t know that even after everything that we’ve been through in Israel, that even after seven years, we would still want to be there. I didn’t know that I would one day call Jerusalem home. I never thought that I would say that it’s the most romantic city on earth. I’m still surprised that even with all of the comforts that I can choose to have in Texas, I keep choosing Jerusalem. For all of us this means that we must submit to our individual callings regardless of what our obstacles and discomforts might be!

C.N.A. Daily News: Speaking to all of the sick and suffering present, he [the Pope] said they should not think of themselves just as recipients of charitable solidarity, but know that they are full participants in the Church’s life and mission.

Brat: Do you understand your mission?

Rob Radosti: Just as there are ranks in armies and among angels, there are ranks in the Body of Christ. The purpose of these ranks, however, is not to be greater than another – but to work together to accomplish a specific operation.

Monk: Showing that scripture is fulfilled is a specific operation.

Brat: Jesus did call Himself “the Root of David” and word did go out from Jerusalem, so, therefore, does that not fulfill scripture?

Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: The Jewish Agency people, though distant from Torah observance, needed no further explanation. With their own eyes, they had witnessed the fulfillment of the Torah’s words!

Anna Blake: I was almost half-done with the manuscript for Stable Relation when I shared it with my first beta reader. He was complimentary. The first chapter was good, he said, but the biggest thing was missing. He was an old friend; he knew the family secret and without revealing it, he thought nothing else made sense.

Kaji Douša: At the end of the meeting, after the debrief and the planning, I returned to the safety of my home. She, however, returned to her sanctuary. And she went on to “minister by night.” For her sanctuary serves as a refuge of last resort for people who cannot bring themselves to be deported. Her sanctuary, you see, is not just a place where people come to sing and debate where their arms should go when they sing. Her sanctuary serves “by night,” too, as sanctuary becomes more than just a word or a space. Sanctuary, for the people of Judson Memorial Church in New York City and so many other places across this country, is an offering, a way of life.

Brat (in “Net” 13 May 17): Where do I find sanctuary to process the journey?

When I got to Jo’s yesterday for our play day, I was tense. Things were crashing in and I saw no forward movement. I was still being obedient in sharing the journey, but hearing nothing back. When we get to these crux points, I tense up, because there’s no way to tell where the collective conversation is going. I don’t know what to pray. Whenever I get to a place where I don’t know what to pray, all I can do is look up: Worship God!

Ben Lim: Every generation has had its own unique way of expressing their love and revelation of God. This generation is a crux and climax of all of her years put together. This generation is an outbreak of a Renaissance that the world has never seen before!

C.N.A. Daily News: “They lived life, with its share of joy and suffering, as an offering to the Lord. I invite those of you who are sick to live your lives as a gift. Like the shepherd children, tell Our Lady that you want to offer yourselves to God with all your heart,” Pope Francis said May 13.

Anna Blake: I fumed about it. I was having a good time writing funny stories about moving to the country but he was right. It was as if there was a decomposing skeleton in the room and I was arranging flowers to brighten the place up. I started over, dreading the truth that needed telling and not at all confident that I could find the words, even all those years later.

Rick Joyner: Bob Dylan got it right when he wrote the song, “You Gotta Serve Somebody.” Believe it or not, like it or not, everyone on earth is a slave. We are either slaves to sin and evil or we are a slave of Christ. Many are trying to negotiate a deal between the two, but the closer we get to the end of this age, the less people will be able to waver between the two. Right now, we are in the time called “the valley of decision,” and the decision is who we will serve.

Brat (in “Net” 13 May 17): Lord Jesus? You said that the Books would be opened! I am convinced that the journal logs of our collective journey show our faithfulness in Truth! We cannot carry the load. You said we don’t have to! You said Your burden is light. As Your library Page, I am asking You for help to open the books and put a stop to these false scripts that Lana Vawser talked about. The Seven Churches just keep doing what they’re doing, which is what You told them to do. (Thyatira, Rev 2:24-25) On the anniversary of our mystical marriage, please accept my prayer for the elder not to weep and send in the Lion of Judah to open the scroll and its seven seals. (Rev 5:5) I worship You, Jesus, and give You thanks in mercy, like a mother’s love for her children.

James W. Goll: On behalf of someone else, the intercessor takes up a case of justice before a sovereign and entirely righteous God. God is looking for the man or woman who will take up the plea, and He can hardly believe it when no one volunteers to stand in the gap.

Brat (in “Time” 5 May 17): When I do integrate my journals into the collective greater story then usually (after some struggle) we make some headway. In the end of that cycle I still don’t have sanctuary. I bring it up to the collective AGAIN that I need a safe and quiet place to BE. There follows more sermons on FAITH. That is a Catch-22 with no exit loop. Faith must accompany works. Writing is my “works” and I share what You ask me to share, but to the collective they don’t seem to recognize this as faith in action. They can stay far off and removed, not get directly involved, and the priests act like they don’t have to be accountable. They can send out blogs and sermons to “teach us a lesson.” They keep control by default and if I rock the boat, then they come back with more war. But NO ONE steps forward with shock and dismay that one of God’s princesses is still in her car praying for the Churches. They wouldn’t allow one of their own daughters to live like this, but it’s okay for me to live this way indefinitely. And so is Janet Soules. She lives full time in her car! They rationalize it by saying that this is God’s path and His way for our lives and He will take care of us.

Rabbi YY Jacobson: Sometimes, Being Close Means Feeling Far

Anna Blake: I had to work up to telling the secret, so I laid a trail of breadcrumbs, intermingling painful scenes from my childhood farm and setting the stage, while practicing writing about the emotions that changed my life’s course. When the time came to write about the final incident, my first draft was only two paragraphs long. It took a month to bleed out the other three thousand words. The chapter title came last: The Worst Thing. That chapter took on a blinding importance to editors and beta readers, even if it was hard to talk about. Just like a family secret.

Brat: For ten years I have shared the journey with the Churches and I get Arc Speak back, but no direct engagement. It feels like a spiritual rape.

Rabbi YY Jacobson: Selling Your Integrity, Your Love and Your Soul

Brat: Pastor John Tolle could deliver the message, but that means he would be tested some more when he talked to the Catholics (but then he’s already said that he’s braced for more testing.) He could be like Richard the Lion Hearted and get word to the Catholics that the dragon is holding the woman and her books hostage. The Catholics, in turn, could send out the Knights Templar (or whomever rescues damsels in distress,) and the Lion of Judah would prevail, just as You promised! (Rev 5:5)

1. Albert Little (The Cordial Catholic): Because, says [Dr. Peter] Kreeft, if what the Church says about the Eucharist is true then God will—because He’s been waiting this whole time. And if the Catholic experience of Christianity is the most authentic and closest experience to what God intended, then He will. And if that little weird wafer, and all the weird little Catholic pieties are really the best way to get to know and be in relationship with Christ, then He will surely draw you in.

Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: The first verse of parashat Bechukotai states, “If you follow my laws….I will give you rain at their correct time.” (Deut. 26:3-4) Why does the Torah emphasize these physical rewards; shouldn’t it focus on spiritual rewards in the afterlife? Rebbe Michel of Zlotshuv is even more astounded and asks, “Why does G‑d promise us anything at all? Are we not supposed to serve the Almighty without the expectation of receiving any reward (see Avot 1:3)? If this is the case, it does not matter what is promised! Any promise only confuses the situation. Isn’t it preferable not to mention any rewards at all, and preclude the need for rabbinic warnings not to serve G‑d with the intention of receiving a reward. Blessings will come on their own to those who deserve them.”

Monk: Lord Jesus, does this picture not fit the description of the elders looking at You who looked like the Lamb who was slain? (Rev 5:6) Does this not describe the crucifix? Must dragons not flee from that?

John 14:17 This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you.

Brat: Are they gonna just keep standing there looking at You?

C.N.A. Daily News: Newly canonized, we take St. Francisco and St. Jacinta as our examples. They were taught by Mary to adore Jesus and this became their strength in suffering. “God’s presence became constant in their lives, as is evident from their insistent prayers for sinners and their desire to remain ever near ‘the hidden Jesus’ in the tabernacle.”

Brat: Pastor John doesn’t have to rescue the damsel with her books. All he has to do is send word to the knights. He’s got friends. And besides, isn’t the pope known for slaying dragons?

Rob Radosti: The Lord is removing the “political ranks” from His divisions, and causing us to work together as a Body again. We, the thriving force of His glory, the Church will overtake and without fail – recover all!

1 Peter 3:15 but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you;

James W. Goll: Jeremiah 27:18 says, “But if they are prophets, and if the word of the Lord is with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of Hosts.”

Daily News: Entrust your sorrows, sufferings and weariness to Jesus, he [Pope Francis] went on, who is hidden but still present in the Eucharist, just as he is also hidden in the wounds of the sick and suffering. “On the altar, we worship the flesh of Jesus; in these our brothers and sisters, we encounter the wounds of Jesus.”

Rob Radosti: “Join me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. A soldier refrains from entangling himself in civilian affairs, in order to please the One who enlisted him” (2 Timothy 2:3-4).

Brat: Lance, to paraphrase one of your points, you said that just as Jesus came to us incarnate, that the devil cast out of the second heaven (and how he falls through all four realms—good explanation and teaching on that!) would be incarnate, too. What if the Man-Child End-Time Company [Rev 12] was raised up for the purposes of reaching the redeemed Adam in that incarnate devil? Would not that act of redemption further cast out the devil from that man and throw it into the lake of fire? Then the redeemed Adam’s testimony would be added to the Man-Child’s Company.

Anna Blake: Reflecting

Kaji Douša: It is no secret that she is my shero. With puppy-like, sometimes covetous devotion I have followed her and wanted to be a version of her since we first met years ago.

Anna Blake: One beta reader told me that that Worst Thing chapter totally ruined the book. It was too sad and too ugly. With an ironic smile, I thought, yes. I’d certainly edit it out of my life if I could but for me and millions of women, we’ve had to find a way to survive the unthinkable in our lives. I didn’t know where to put this odd duck of a chapter but the chapter would stay. Sometimes the awkward thing no one wants to talk about is the most important part to share.

C.N.A. Daily News: Therefore, “with Mary’s protection,” he concluded, “may we be for our world sentinels of the dawn, contemplating the true face of Jesus the Savior, resplendent at Easter.”

I can tell by the stagnation in the divine Flow and this developing migraine of mine that Richard the Lionhearted is stuck. Have mercy on him, God. Please intervene on his behalf to break us all out into the freedom and mercy you have waiting to bestow upon all of us. Please send in the cavalry. It doesn’t have to be another Crusade, just loving-kindness in action. The Catholics know they have a Schism, but they may find an answer to their prayers over here unbeknownst to them.
