Rabbi Dr. Eliezer Shore: The forty-two journeys [that open the Weekly Reading] exist in the life of every human being, from the moment of birth until the day of death.
Brat (27 July 19): The lectionary readings for 4 Aug 19 address your point. I did not seek this out, but am passing it along. It is the Holy Spirit who does the speaking:
Hosea 11:1 When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.
Brat: I have such deep affection for my rabbis! I call them my “Bagel Boys.”
Blake Shelton: “God Gave Me You” [https://youtu.be/nCf2PoTuh4Q]
Joey LeTourneau: God has continued to show us the vision of this bridge. Not a literal bridge, this “bridge” is meant to be constructed uniquely, lifting people up higher. It’s intended to be made up of “refuge-like” properties and lands that God’s sons and daughters have been in and are now taking for the Kingdom. They are hot spots on a map, strategically placed, set apart, and are preparation grounds for many that God is raising up between California and Israel—with the intention of rebuilding God’s family.
Daniel Pierce (in “Sweet Spot” 26 July 19): In this chapter, the Lord replied to Habakkuk’s cry: “…Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
Rahmiel-Hayyim Drizin: Rabbi Hiya opened a discourse with the verse: “You son of man, thus says the L-rd G-d to the land of Israel: An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.” (Ezek. 7:2) This verse contains a deep mystery.
Pastor Bruce Zachary: The drought that was triggered when Elijah prayed was God’s wake-up call to Israel for their idolatry. The Jews had been worshiping the Canaanite god Baal who was associated with fertility and rain [1Ki. 17]. For three and a half years, despite the prayers to Baal for rain, there was no rain. Then Elijah orchestrated a showdown with the 450 prophets of Baal at Mt. Carmel [1Ki. 18:20-39]. There, God displayed that Baal was powerless, and that there was (and is) only one True God. As the Jews confessed, repented, and returned to the Lord, they discovered their greatest need wasn’t rain, but restoration with God.
Hosea 11:2 The more I called them, the more they went from me; they kept sacrificing to the Baals, and offering incense to idols.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (26 July 19): Donations can still be given towards the campaign – please use this link: https://www.jgive.com/new/en/usd/donation-targets/17764
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: “If you are hungry, ask no man for money or for food. But if people offer you something out of compassion, you may accept it.”
Hosea 11:3 Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk, I took them up in my arms; but they did not know that I healed them.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (26 July 19): When Zimri brought the Midianite women into the camp of the Israelites and acted out of purely personal interests, surely there must have been someone who knew the law concerning what to do in this case. However, Pinchas was the only one who took action.
James 5:5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: “I set out to speak to Rabbi Meir of Premishlan, hoping that he would teach me some way of atoning for my sin.”
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): How often will you bow the knee? Bury your head in the carpet?
Pastor Bruce Zachary: James, was nicknamed “camel knees” because of the callouses on his knees from countless hours of prayer. James was a man dedicated to prayer, who knew the significance of passionate prayer by a person who is yielded to Jesus. Seven times in these few verses, James refers to prayer. Let’s discover together the connection between prayer and restoration…
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): God addresses our spirit of pride. When Jesus was in the temple He observed the prayers of two men: a self-righteous man and a sinful man.
ICEJ (24 July 19): How can we pray for you today?
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
– Matthew 7:7-11
Dori Sampson (28 July 19): Heavenly Father I choose Your way, please lead me into all that You have for me. Bring the changes to my life that need to be done. Help me to grow ever closer to You. Forgive me of the things that I have done wrong and fill me always with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You, Jesus, for Your joy. Guard my heart so that nothing will rob me of It. I will rejoice in all things, giving You praise. Amen.
Israel 365 (in “Pivot” 27 July 19): ✡ What is one thing you can leave to your son or daughter?
Brat: My testimony
Pastor Michael Hines: God has spoken at different times in different ways. He did not just speak through the prophets with words written now on paper. He speaks through the living Word—the one who “upholds the universe by …
James 5:2 Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten.
Brat: Here is my dilemma: My love language is in writing, and I receive more silence from my sharing. As it stands our collective journey will rot to the silverfish, spiders, and rats.
Joey LeTourneau: May you make this testimony your own and see it multiplied unto the family of God around you!
Hosea 11:4 I led them with cords of human kindness, with bands of love. I was to them like those who lift infants to their cheeks. I bent down to them and fed them.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter: A certain individual came to the tzadik Reb Yehudaleh and complained about great Jewish leaders and current events of the time. When he finished speaking, he asked the tzadik why he hadn’t responded.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): In the Prodigal Son, God returns people by letting them hit rock bottom. A lot of times we try and stand in the mix, but my intervention won’t bring them back. It’s not that I’ll forget them. Maybe today You’ll bring them home, O God. There are designated intercessors for certain people.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter: The tzadik answered, “The Torah doesn’t speak about a jealousy for G-d’s honor like your jealousy. How do we know? The portion of Pinchas is the longest in the Torah. However, it begins briefly with the story of Pinchas that is quite short. Then there follows long discussions about the festivals and other commandments. So, I expected that after your zealousness, you would also teach some Torah ideas! When you didn’t, I saw that your zealousness is not true Torah zealousness…”
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): being ready to respond. We don’t leave it to others to respond. That lifestyle is different. We respond to the Holy Spirit. That invites the Holy Spirit to work in our culture. A lot of people sit back and believe and assume God will do it. God invites you to seek out people to pray for your needs. The word of God is powerful. That’s the work of the Holy Spirit. “I LOVE GOD’S WORD!”
Hosea 11:5 They shall return to the land of Egypt, and Assyria shall be their king, because they have refused to return to me.
James 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.
Pastor Steve Dittmar (in “Shadow” 23 July 19): We can hear the gnashing of our teeth or others, or we can see Jesus. A lot of life doesn’t want to yield to Jesus, but we always can. We can turn our gaze…and see Jesus.
Brat: Where is there sanctuary to pray without being harassed by the cops?

Rabbi Shaul Leiter (26 July 19): For G-d’s sake!

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.”
Brat: There are Two Witnesses.
Casting Crowns: “Nobody” [https://youtu.be/1yBzIt_z8oY]
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: “I live in the city of Pest, near which I own several villages, fields and vineyards. Once a large sum of money was stolen from me, and I did not know who the thief was. We had a maid—an orphan—and since we suspected that this was her doing, we took her along to the local authorities. The police there beat her in order to induce her to confess, but she insisted she had stolen nothing, so they sent her home to us. But the harsh treatment that she had endured left its mark. For some days she languished in bed, and then died.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): We have traditionally called ourselves a Christian Nation. We are quickly descending into evil. God is talked about as evil and evil is talked about as good. Evil is not a political issue, but a spiritual issue. Lying is wrong. Cheating is wrong. Adultery is wrong.
James 5:6 You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.
Hosea 11:6 The sword rages in their cities, it consumes their oracle-priests, and devours because of their schemes.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): The Religious and Philosophical Power Brokers. They are building a way of life that ensures evil will continue.
Revelation 11:18 The nations raged,
but your wrath came,
and the time for the dead to be judged,
and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints,
and those who fear your name,
both small and great,
and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: “‘Choose one of these three,’ he said. ‘Either you die, though you will be granted a place in the world to come; or you will be ill and bedridden for three years, while the suffering you undergo will cleanse you of your sins; or for three years you will wander about as a vagabond, as the law prescribes for an unwitting manslaughterer.’
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): We in Thousand Oaks are descending daily into evil. It’s like an incoming tide. What will keep the tide at bay?
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: “When I went in to speak to him he said: ‘You still have ample time to die, and you have already been ill. So, choose the exile of a vagabond.’
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): The restraining force is the Holy Spirit.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman (in “Wifie” 23 July 19): There are 22 days during this time period, the same number as Hebrew letters. This span of time represents a complete cycle – from alef to tav. Significantly, there is another time period in the Jewish calendar which also has a 22 day cycle – Rosh HaShanah through Simchat Torah. The two days of Rosh HaShanah are referred to as “one long day.” In truth, the entire holiday cycle beginning on Rosh HaShanah, continuing through the ten days of teshuva and Yom Kippur, and then culminating in Succot, Hoshanah Rabbah and finally Simchat Torah, are in fact one continuous, unfolding, spiritual cycle and process.
Brat: Are you saying that I have to wait three more weeks to get a quiet, peaceful closet to pray in?
Revelation 17:15 And the angel said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: While mourning for the Temple, it is upon us to transform darkness into light.
Francesca Battistelli: He Knows My Name [https://youtu.be/ZtlDVleJBtA]
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): We need to establish a culture for the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit needs to be welcomed. We don’t do well when people are not aware of our presence. We have made church a spectator event. We are all the performers of the kingdom of God. We’ve made you the audience, but the Bible makes you the Body of Christ.
Luke 10:35 And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ 36 Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?”
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): Are you perplexed by a family member who was a participant in the kingdom of God at one time and then they walked away?
Brat (30 July 19): I was just walking across the park to get to the public restroom and there in my path was yet ANOTHER dried-up, long-stem, dead rose.
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
Joey LeTourneau: “First love” intimacy is how we utilize this key and where our authority dwells to unlock the doors and gates to these lands and see the Father establish them. The key of David isn’t a form of contending for such lands that requires striving; rather it is the simple yet powerful authority where we reach toward the lock by reaching through God’s heart, and during the process He cuts that key to match the access point. Entry is granted as now the right key has entered its matching door. Intimacy is the key to apprehending our land.
Luke 10:37 He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: The innkeeper was so curious to know what the end of the story would be that he set out with his ragged guest and escorted him directly to the rebbe’s house in Sanz. The vagabond did not even manage to put his question to Reb Chaim, when the tzaddik said: “Return to your home, traveling by way of Premishlan. Find the grave of Reb Meir, and tell him that the rebbe of Sanz says that two years of exile are enough for you, for you observed them with true self-sacrifice.”
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): “You are LORD! I may have a role to play, but Your Spirit will bring them to the end of their rope.”
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: It is both important and necessary to participate in the restrictions and the mourning for the Temples during these three weeks. But for the mystically inclined, it is also desirable to look for and accentuate the positive elements of this time.
Yekutiel Green: When a person meditates on the greatness of G d, he applies his intellectual faculties to thinking deeply and profoundly on what is essentially beyond human comprehension. This meditation on the greatness of G d can cause a level of ecstasy which transcends human understanding.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (26 July 19): We learn from the story of Pinchas that we, limited human beings, can never know the true motivation of another. Only G-d can truly know what is in our heart and our intentions. And therefore G-d is telling us that we have a responsibility to judge a person favourably.
Brat: Jesus said,
Revelation 2:23 and I will strike her children “dead”. And all the churches will know that I am He who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.
Brat: And the Seven Churches did NOTHING.
Israel 365 (28 July 19): ✡ Treat God’s children as your own
Hosea 11:7 My people are bent on turning away from me. To the Most High they call, but he does not raise them up at all.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): I kept thinking I was the key. Sometimes we are, but sometimes God has someone else in mind. Pray the Lord of the Harvest sends laborers. Pray God will send people across your path. God has people available to Him.
Hosea 11:8 How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender.
Gotquestions.org: Admah and Zeboiim (or Zeboyim) are two cities in the vicinity of Sodom and Gomorrah that suffered the same fate as Sodom and Gomorrah.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): The workers are few. We pray to the Lord of the Harvest!
James 5:4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.

Brat Journal (29 July 19): I was glad to leave the house and get out of there. Hell was again raging in my soul, only this time the flames radiated off a charging bull’s body in a waking vision. The flames were still hot. I could feel them even as my eye “saw” the charging bull.
Hosea 11:9 I will not execute my fierce anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim; for I am God and no mortal, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath.
Brat Journal (29 July 19): I needed space and quiet, so as not to give my power to the beast.
Verse of the Day (29 July 19): I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. ~ Psalm 119:93 ESV
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): “I will teach transgressors Your way.” There is your story. That is part of making a culture of responding.
Psalm 51: 18 Do good to Zion in your good pleasure;
build up the walls of Jerusalem;
19 then will you delight in right sacrifices,
in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings;
then bulls [!] will be offered on your altar.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): You don’t base it on opinion but on the Word of God.
Brat Journal (29 July 19): “I’m just so grateful to have my joy back after those hot flames of the bull from hell! Thank You, God!!” It was the joy of the Lord that held back, yea—pushed back, the flaming, charging bull!
Hosea 11:10 They shall go after the LORD, who roars like a lion; when he roars, his children shall come trembling from the west.
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: After hearing these commandments regarding the division of the Land of Israel, the five daughters of Tzelofchad argued that they too deserved a portion of the Land, even though land had been only apportioned explicitly to sons.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (26 July 19): [Editor’s note: This is a lesson well suited for this period of “The Three Weeks**”. The rabbis teach that the Temples were destroyed due to baseless hatred between Jews. This is an auspicious time period to act in a diametrically opposite manner and judge each other in the best light possible. Emulating G-d.]
Hosea 11:11 They shall come trembling like birds from Egypt, and like doves from the land of Assyria; and I will return them to their homes, says the LORD.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter: ** The mourning period between the fast of 17th Tammuz (commemorating the breach of the walls of Jerusalem that was followed by the destruction of the Second Temple) and the fast of 9th Av (commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Temples), the saddest day on the Jewish calendar.
ICEJ (27 July 19): A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
Proverbs 25:11
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: published in “Apples From the Orchard.”
Pastor Bruce Zachary: God is revealed as the end not the means to an end: In the example of a man diagnosed with cancer, who then loses his job, who becomes depressed, and next his wife leaves, his greatest need is God. So often, we pray to get something that we perceive as good, or avoid something we perceive as bad. That thinking makes God the means to an end, rather than the end. The greatest benefit of restoration is renewal with God.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): The word of God is not hypocritical.
James 5:3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.
Pastor John Tolle (28 July 19): We accept that we’ve fallen on our face.
Israel365 (29 July 19): And I will plant them upon their soil, Nevermore to be uprooted From the soil I have given them —said Hashem your God
Amos 9:15 (The Israel Bible™)
Psalm 51: 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Hosea 1:4 And the LORD said to him, “Name him Jezreel; for in a little while I will punish the house of Jehu for the blood of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.
Nathan Shaw: It’s easy to see the influence of “Jezebelic” forces today. They work systematically to distance nations from God. One of the major battles of our times is over the destiny of the United States of America. The reason is obvious. The outcome of this battle will set the world stage for decades to come. The battle is fierce and few understand what is necessary to remove Jezebel’s influence from the land. This is not just an issue of casting out a demon, removing an evil influencer, or displacing a principality. The process of removing Jezebel’s influence over ancient Israel is instructive for our times. There were five major steps in the overall process.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: Practice before you get stoned!
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): I will not misinterpret the trials and I will not give in to them.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: No, I am not talking about that kind of “stoned”! I am talking about the greatest influencer, the Holy Spirit, far superior to marijuana or any other diversion, vice or sin. Take the time with the Holy Spirit and practice getting high. No, not high as a kite, but high as heaven! As you practice being inside of Jesus daily, it prepares you for life, the very life Jesus freely gives you. It’s LIFE, filled with Holy Spirit visions, Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and you, secure in Christ. Sounds simple? It really is. Praise God!
Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): I’m gonna bless people that bug me.
Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Peter and John went back to their home group. Take note of their threats.
Acts 4: 29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to Your servants to continue to speak Your word with all boldness,
Rick Joyner (23 July 19): The first and most serious of these threats was what Thomas Jefferson called “judicial tyranny.” Even in the first years of the new nation, he saw a creeping tendency for the judicial branch to usurp the authority of the other two branches, as well as that of the states and the people. The judicial did this in clear violation of the Constitution. In regard to this judicial tyranny, we have now surpassed what the Founders feared could happen—in some ways it has surpassed judicial tyranny to become judicial anarchy. The Constitution is now hanging by a thread.
Revelation 17:4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.
Simcha-Shmuel Treister: [It is interesting to note that these colors are in fact used to represent these powers in society as we know it. Thus, the highest judges in the British legal system wear white wigs, representing mercy, and red gowns, appropriate for their activity of judgement. Royalty is referred to as being “blue-blooded”.]
David Slavin: Just so, it is prohibited to gaze at women, for even if one doesn’t envision performing a licentious act, in the end he will imagine in his mind that form and he may contemplate or just imagine something improper even if he never acts upon those thoughts. The reason for that is that the images and forms that he had developed in his mind profoundly damage his soul. Yet the flip side is true, for when one envisions holy concepts they have the power to rectify his soul.
Revelation 17:9 This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated;
Simcha-Shmuel Treister: “And all of the girls….”(Num. 31:18) Rabbi Yehuda said that from here we learn that the world is only conducted by two “colors” that come from the feminine aspect of the spiritual world. This is the “wisdom of the heart” that governs the word, as is written “All of the women who were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen.” (Ex. 35:25)
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): What kind of things are necessary for a culture for the Holy Spirit to work?
Revelation 17:8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.
Acts 5:14 And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Peter’s shadow was activated by faith. There was a belief that you were cursed if the shadow of an evil person crossed you.
The Shadow Knows: Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men [https://youtu.be/dWK_bQCGGNY]
Colossians 2:17 These are only a shadow of what is to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We are here to redeem the times.
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: Thus, since the Land of Israel was intended to be, as we said, the microcosm of the comprehensive process of making the physical world into G d’s home, it was necessary for the relationship between it and the Jewish people to be established on all three levels: rational, super-rational, and intrinsic. In this way our entry and possession of it foreshadowed the final redemption, in which our intrinsic, essential identity with G d will become the operative consciousness of reality.
Nathan Shaw: This battle is much bigger than casting out a demon, removing an evil influencer, or even displacing a principality. It is about removing Jezebel’s pervasive influence from the land. Politics, education, music and creative media are major battlefields.
Rev. Anne Marie Witchger: In the face of devastating events and in our polarized political climate, “prayer” has become code for: “I don’t know what else to say.” Or, “I want to say something neutral and inoffensive,” or, “I don’t want to take action.” So often politicians, leaders, even clergy people offer “thoughts and prayers” in response to tragedy or injustice because it is the easiest thing to do.
Nathan Shaw: God decided it was time for Ahab to be removed. The prophet Micaiah was shown the heavenly council meeting in which the method of Ahab’s removal was decided. One of the participants in the heavenly council offered to become a lying spirit in the mouths of all Ahab’s prophets. God agreed. Ahab decided to take back the strategic Israelite city of Ramoth-Gilead from the king of Syria. Ahab gathered his prophets. There were about 400 of them, and they all prophesied his success in the battle. Only Micaiah prophesied the opposite. Ahab knew that Micaiah was a true prophet of God. Regardless, Ahab was under the influence of a strong delusion and believed the other prophets. Ahab went to battle and died when hit by a random arrow.
Candice Simmons (19 July 19): “Surprise! What May Seem to You Like a Setback is Really My Setup!”
Brat (in “Chirps” 19 July 19): And how many times have I heard that one over the last decade? At this point these sound like words of man, not God. To me this sounds like more CYA. Nothing will change as long as y’all glean from what I’ve written and yet treat me as if I do not exist. That is cruel. Period.
Jennifer Brownell: What’s Your Name?
Brat: What? You think it’s written on my forehead or something?
Revelation 17:5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.”
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): It’s the unbelief of the flesh that says the tribulations are an indication that the Holy Spirit is not at work.
Brat: Jesus is my King!
David Sterne: Relating to Righteous Indignation
Nathan Shaw: In many ways Israel’s battle parallels the battle over the destiny and future of the United States of America. The battle is fierce, confusing, messy, and complicated. To understand the times and respond correctly it is necessary to stand in God’s council. Even though Elijah stood in God’s council, his perspective became skewed when he got caught in the crossfire of the battle (1 Kings 19:1-18).
Sophia Buller: “Perspecticide: The “brainwashing” technique used by manipulators” [https://psychology-spot.com/perspecticide-manipulation/]
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz (23 July 19): As for those peoples that warred against Yerushalayim, Hashem will smite them with this plague: Their flesh shall rot away while they stand on their feet; their eyes shall rot away in their sockets; and their tongues shall rot away in their mouths. Zechariah 14:12
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We must have a willingness to endure the hardships of life.
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: Even the words themselves, “Pinchas is Eliyahu” reinforce the message. “Pinchas” evokes the image of serving G d at any cost, even at the peril of one’s own life. Elijah is the beginning of the Redemption. “Pinchas is Elijah”, means that when we act with self-sacrifice, we bring the Redemption closer.
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: Stages of Connection
Jennifer Brownell: Prayer
Holy Friend of Many Names, we honor you by calling you the names you chose for yourself. Help us to also do so for all we encounter. Amen.
Revelation 19:12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We all have defense mechanisms.
David Sterne: In order to better understand Pinchas the Zealot, we have to look back to Cain and Abel
Acts 5:17 But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy 18 they arrested the apostles and put them in the public prison.
David Sterne: According to the Zohar, Pinchas had the same soul root as Cain. We know this because one who has killed cannot become a Cohen, and Pinchas was not made a Cohen at the same time as the rest of his family, since he was from Cain who killed Abel.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: It bears repeating: Even though we can be hard pressed on every side daily, we are still offered the same choice. We can be filled with the Holy Spirit as we gaze into heaven and see Jesus, or we can be overwhelmed with ourselves and all the conflicted emotions and issues we experience.
Ezekiel 17:17 Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company will not help him in war, when mounds are cast up and siege walls built to cut off many lives.
Charisma (19 July 19): Why is This Happening to Us?
Revelation 17:6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.
When I saw her, I marveled greatly.
Brat (in “Chirps” 19 July 19): Kim Clement’s studio is still active in Camarillo, CA, where I live, too. When Kim was still alive, he would occasionally open his studio to the public. I had shared my writings many times with him. They were amazing pieces of revelation and truth. I went to an event when he hosted Lance Wallnau. Afterward someone posted a photo of the audience’s participation and I was literally cut out of the picture, as if I had never been there.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): It’s years before a horse becomes dependable. Affirmative training is hoping for the best but accepting some days fall short. One lesson can’t be more important than another, just as one rough day can’t ruin either of you. Let it go. See every moment not as the work of training but an opportunity to be worthy of a horse’s trust.
Brat: I don’t know who cut me out of the picture and I let it go as a juvenile prank, but it remained as a clue in the deafening Silence that I have received from everyone, as it has grown exponentially over the years. Then I started wondering if Kim and his ministry thought of me as an enemy rather than a friend. How would I know without engagement? I am not a mind-reader. I always thought of him as a friend. To this day I still pray for their well-being and God’s kindness upon them. I had even told him that I felt he was the Church of Philadelphia.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We step out to people you put on my heart.
David Sterne: His service (like Cain’s) consisted of “raising one’s heart in the service of G d.” Like Cain, he took the initiative and served G d in the way that made sense to him. In this case, though, Pinchas didn’t just “raise his heart” to assuage his own anger, but in order to do G d’s will. In so doing, he rectified Cain’s transgression and was ultimately granted priesthood like the rest of his family.
David Sterne: We know that we are meant to learn something about our own lives from everything that happens in the Torah. But when it comes to Parashat Pinchas, it’s hard to know how to find a common denominator with the protagonist, who, in a burst of righteous indignation, killed a couple of people while they were publicly violating the Torah. Not many of us are called upon to take such an extreme action, so what does the story of Pinchas really teach us?
Colossians 2:15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public example of them, triumphing over them in it.
Binyomin Adilman: Each station along the way represented a special quality or aspect of the evil inclination that had to be conquered. As it says, Torah scholars have no rest – not in this world nor in the next world (Berachot 64a) since they are constantly growing, attaining one level after another.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: We can hear the gnashing of our teeth or others, or we can see Jesus. A lot of life doesn’t want to yield to Jesus, but we always can. We can turn our gaze…and see Jesus.
Brat: Where is there sanctuary to pray without being harassed by the cops?
Binyomin Adilman: Vows and Dwelling Places
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: Don’t read it that we decrease, i.e. have less joy; rather, read it that during this period, we lessen, i.e. enjoy the pleasures of the world less, but do it with joy.
Brat: So the Funny Bunnies can keep spiritually jacking off with me?
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Some of you have a frown on your face. Put on a smile of gladness. Count it all joy.
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: Decrease In Joy
Colossians 2:14 erasing the record that stood against us with its legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross.
Jo (22 July 19): I saw so clearly. I will not put it on paper or write it down. I will not give it a record I can only understand what I see.
Binyomin Adilman: For this reason, states the Noam Elimelech, there is a custom brought from the Sages to fast on the day before Rosh Chodesh, the new Jewish month (and the advent of the new moon). This is the inauguration of the 30 day period of preparation in which he will rededicate himself to the service of G d. (Note: Not everybody maintains this practice of fasting. It is common however to accept upon oneself a Fast of Speech, or to recite the Book of Psalms. Each person finds his way to prepare.)
Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone condemn you in matters of food and drink or of observing festivals, new moons, or sabbaths.
Hosea 1:5 On that day I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.”
Francis Frangipane: “Elijah, Jehu and the War Against Jezebel”
Nathan Shaw: The word “Jezebel” has been used as a catch-all word to describe controlling forces and people. “Jezebel’s” objective is to hinder and destroy God’s purposes over individuals, churches, ministries and nations.
Genesis 18:21 I must go down and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me; and if not, I will know.”
Daniel Pontious: (Tomorrow go down to them. Behold, they will come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the ravine before the Wilderness of Jeruel.)
Simcha-Shmuel Treister: Now what was the purpose of bringing this particular offering to the dedication of the Tabernacle in the desert? The purpose was to rectify the colors of blue and purple which each include a mixture of white and red. This is also reflected in the verse “She seeks wool, and flax, and works willingly with her hands”. (Proverbs 31:13) It is also written that the wise hearted women “spun with their hands”. What is this “spinning”? Rabbi Yehuda said that they spun together strictness and mercy.
Revelation 12:6 and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (in “Chirps” 19 July 19): It’s summer time – Ascent is filled with interesting programs. Please come visit!
Psalm 27:4 One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.
Revelation 17:18 And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz (23 July 19): Is Bubonic Plague Predicted in L.A a Sign of Zechariah’s Prophecy in 2019?
Pastor Steve Dittmar: Notice: Where is Jesus?
Matthew 12: 14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): You can’t make a formula for how the Holy Spirit prompts.
Revelation 17:3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): The Holy Spirit works where He’s invited and people are yielded and hungry.
Daniel Pontious: And when Judah came to the watchtower of the wilderness, they looked at the multitude, and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none had escaped!” 2 Chronicles 20:22-24
Hosea 1:8 When she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived and bore a son.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Some of you are here to pray for this dead church.
Foursquare Church (in “Chirps” 19 July 19): New life from a new cemetery
Brat: It is not right to speak ill of the dead, but then who will be the speaker for the dead?
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Hunger and thirst for righteousness. Jesus is our righteousness. You will be filled.
Rev. Anne Marie Witchger: Jesus wanted our prayers to lead us to difficult places; to challenge us to do uncomfortable things in his service; to give hope. If you’re tired of hearing people offer their thoughts and prayers in the face of devastating situations because it doesn’t seem like enough, then it’s time for us to change how we think about prayer. It’s time for us to reclaim what it means to pray the way Jesus taught us. It’s time for us to be shameless—to keep asking for God’s presence in our lives and in the world, despite how daunting our challenges may seem.
David Sterne: Hence a lesson for us: If we want to “raise our heart” – take the initiative – we must be sure that it’s only for G d. Any impurity in our motivation can have drastic consequences. When we do what we are told by G d, even if our own motivation isn’t pure, were safe. When we do things on our own, our motivation must be perfect.
Ezekiel 17:24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the LORD; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it.”
Nathan Shaw: A new generation of freedom fighters rose up: prophets, kings and Israelites.
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: The Torah portion concludes with a discussion of the daily and holiday offerings that were brought in the Tabernacle. After the destruction of the Temple, the Talmud tells us that we fulfill our obligation for the daily and special offerings through our daily prayer. The Three Weeks are an especially propitious time to reevaluate our relationship with G d through prayer. If we can concentrate on with Whom we are communicating, then just as an offering atoned for our sins, so, too, will our sincere prayers “clean the slate” in our relationship with G d.
Hosea 1:7 But I will have pity on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the LORD their God; I will not save them by bow, or by sword, or by war, or by horses, or by horsemen.”
Rick Joyner (23 July 19): The American Republic has arisen to become possibly the greatest nation in history in many basic ways. This has not happened without mistakes and tragedies that we must also acknowledge. We still have many flaws. Even so, we have been the dominant economic and military force in the world for over half a century and have rarely used it to dominate others. I say “rarely” because there have been times and places when we have used it to force our will on others. However, there has never been a nation that rebuilds its enemies after defeating them in war as has the U.S. As one leader of a developing nation said, “The quickest way for a nation to prosper is to go to war with the United States, surrender quickly, and then watch the aid pour in.”
Kaji Douša: Prayer
Right now, across this country, there are lawyers sorting through the finest of details to synthesize what is just and right and to argue for it, for us, for life. May their good work point us to a love that honors God, protects our neighbor and even ourselves. Amen.
Hosea 1:6 She conceived again and bore a daughter. Then the LORD said to him, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have pity on the house of Israel or forgive them.
Simcha-Shmuel Treister: Spinning Strictness with Mercy
Acts 5:13 None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem.
Nathan Shaw: God’s heavenly council acted and deliberated on behalf of the 7,000 Israelites who refused to bow their knees to Baal. Ahab and Jezebel were ruthless. The 7,000 who didn’t bow their knees had resolve. It was the resolve of these everyday freedom fighters that determined the destiny of the nation!

Colossians 2:10 and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.
Rachel Hackenberg: Prayer
A: All that I am is yours, O God.
B: Be present with those who suffer, O Christ.
C: Call us beyond our egos and out into the work of love, O Spirit.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Sometimes I get saved from my own sermon.
Hosea 1:9 Then the LORD said, “Name him Lo-ammi, for you are not my people and I am not your God.”
Nathan Shaw: New sounds and strategies are being released from Heaven. They will carry the authority of decrees released from God’s heavenly council. The battle is particularly fierce over the minds and hearts of the emerging generation. A new generation of freedom fighters, both young and old, will shift the battle and determine the outcome.
Verse of the Day (22 July 19): He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Hosea 1:10 Yet the number of the people of Israel shall be like the sand of the sea, which can be neither measured nor numbered; and in the place where it was said to them, “You are not my people,” it shall be said to them, “Children of the living God.”

Hosea 1:2 When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea, “Go, take for yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom, for the land commits great whoredom by forsaking the LORD.”
Revelation 17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters,
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: Just as a woman must first experience the breaking of the waters and the contractions of labor before giving birth, so too does each individual in their creative strivings experience this process. The Jewish people, as well, represent this allegory through our ongoing trials and dynamic history. It is interesting to note that one of the five calamities to occur on the 17th of Tamuz was Moses breaking the tablets after the worshipping of the Golden Calf. Once again, we see a certain breaking must occur before the second tablets, which Moses brought down on Yom Kippur, could take hold and be integrated properly by the people.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): There’s an uncanny cultural dynamic about active faith. It can’t be put on a shelf. It’s not passive. It’s not something I give to you. God has given me a measure of faith.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: Therefore, though these days are filled with sad and painful memories, they give us the outline and parameters in which to understand all Jewish and world history. From these reflections we begin to prepare for a new year and the colors we’d like to use to fill in our own picture of life. By feeling deeply the broken world we live in we actually acquire the compassion and tools to rectify the world and ourselves, the best way we can, thereby fulfilling our crucial mission as individuals and as Jews. We can now understand the tradition that the Messiah is born on Tisha B’Av – from the collective birth contractions of the Jewish people will be born our own redemption.
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: “Inheritance” refers to the mutual identity between G d and Israel. According to Jewish law, the inheritor assumes the legal standing of the parent and thereby automatically assumes ownership of his parent’s property. He does not earn it, nor does the parent choose to bequeath it to him; he in essence becomes his parent. Here, the Jewish people are not a separate entity that G d chooses; they and G d are, so to speak, one and the same.
Revelation 17:2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.”
Hosea 1:3 So he went and took Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
Meaning of Diblaim name: Cluster of figs.
Revelation 17:7 But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.

Matthew 21:18 In the morning, as he was returning to the city, he became hungry.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): What can you do to create spiritual hunger in your life?
Matthew 21:19 And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: When Stephen testified of Jesus to the Sanhedrin (the Jewish council of elders and priests), he was not aware of, or at least not paying attention to, their hostile, hardened responses. Having shown them that they were as stiff-necked and uncircumcised of heart and ears as their fathers had been, they were cut to the heart. Then they became livid! Enraged and irate, they began gnashing their teeth; but Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, was gazing into heaven.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We live in a culture of entertainment. Do we have receptors for entertainment or Jesus? Receptors can create camouflage and counterfeit responses. They’re substitutes for the realness of the Holy Spirit.
Daniel Pontious: An Angelic Ambush!
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: In the Messianic Redemption, however, the inheritance relationship will become paramount. Our creature consciousness will dissolve into yet coexist with Creator consciousness, as our unique personalities shine as they paradoxically exist within G d’s absolute reality.
Anna Blake (22 July 19): Go Fish
Mom took us kids in the station wagon to the
church bazaar. Homemade women’s goods for
sale; boring cross-stitched aprons, jars of choke-
cherry syrup, crocheted doilies as fine as snowflakes.
A long table with lemon meringue pies and scratch
yellow cakes with chocolate frosting lined up for
the cakewalk. I walked past game booths, a ring toss
with holy card prizes, all the way to the booth where
I was sure to win. Go fish, a white sheet hung
across the booth, construction paper fish randomly
pinned to it. I traded my only nickel for a fishing
pole with cotton string, a clothespin tied to the end.
I cast over the curtain on the second try, holding
my breath until the string jerked twice. I retrieved a
doll-sized tea set with silly flowers. The boy next
to me was equally unhappy with his plastic horse.

Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles (in “Chirps” 19 July 19): Chirps of a Bird Prophet
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We seal the work of the Holy Spirit done here. The bird comes to take the seed on the path. The wicked one wants to come and rip you off. We stand against the work of the devil.

Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter (in “Mischief” 17 July 19): Moses and Balak typify Jewish and non-Jewish leadership, respectively
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): You and I are capable of quenching and resisting the Holy Spirit. He doesn’t want to be used. He wants fellowship with you.
Revelation 17:17 for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.

Torren Wells (in “Chirps” 19 July 19): “God’s Not Done With You” [https://youtu.be/cVHrkYBEgFM]
Rachel Hackenberg: In Sunday School when I was a child, the foundational lessons were built into our songs: “One, two, three. Jesus loves me! One, two. Jesus loves you!”
David Sterne: Shem miShmuel tells us that in order to better understand Pinchas the Zealot, we have to look back to Cain and Abel. As we know, Abel was a retiring kind of person, shy and bashful, who thought nothing of himself and only wanted to serve the Creator. Cain was just the opposite. His outgoing nature could be used in a good way, as when he decided to bring a sacrifice to G d (his brother Abel only did so when he saw that Cain was doing it). Or, it could be used in a bad way, as when he killed his brother. When used properly, Cain’s approach is called “raising one’s heart in the service of G d.” Combined with humility, it works wonders; when combined with arrogance, it’s deadly.
Pastor John Tolle (in “Mischief” 17 July 19): We’re not willing to stumble over our words
Psalm 52:2 you are plotting destruction. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, you worker of treachery.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Obeying the Holy Spirit is not about likes and dislikes.
Simon Jacobson: Of all people, Balaam — no friend of Israel — is the one that teaches us the way to reach eternity.
Rachel Hackenberg: Through my earbuds plays the wisdom of Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” about setting boundaries after a bad relationship: “One: Don’t pick up the phone… Two: Don’t let him in… Three: Don’t be his friend…”
One, two, three.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): But if you can’t figure out why you’re in trials then it’s just the flesh’s position. Count it all joy.
Revelation 17:13 These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast.
David Slavin: Behold, there is no doubt that when two great friends see each other, the mere seeing definitely causes them great joy and happiness, and they engrave each other’s image in their minds. That is true because of their great love. Yet the inverse is true for enemies. With that, we can understand the following verses: “No evil sojourns with You” (Psalms 5:5) and “Who asked of you to trample My courtyard” (Isaiah 1:12). For when G d is angry with us, our appearing before him in His temple will evoke further hatred and anger.
Rachel Hackenberg: In the days of memorized catechism, it was a series of questions and answers: “What is your only comfort in life and in death? What must you know to live and die in the joy of this comfort?” (à la the Heidelberg Catechism)
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: “Those who sow with tears will reap with joy.” (Psalms 126:5) May this ancient statement be fulfilled for all of Israel and the entire world.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We are establishing a culture where the Holy Spirit can work. It’s not automatic.
Revelation 17:14 They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
Daniel Pontious: God is about to reveal to you the Blueprints and deployment of every enemy confronting you and the strategies of Heaven to destroy them, Trust in the Lord and watch Him send the Angelic to do their thing!!!
Rev. Anne Marie Witchger: And if we have moments when we feel like our prayers are weak, or like we don’t know what to say or do, we can be like the disciples: “Lord, teach us to pray,” they asked him. Jesus stands ready not only to answer our prayers, but also to show us the way.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: The Slonimer Rebbe creates a beautiful image by comparing the 22 days of the “Three Weeks” to drawing the outline of a picture, which is then filled in with a full array of color during the 22 day period of Rosh Hashanah through Simchat Torah. In this paradigm the “Three Weeks” represent contraction and the bare outline, while Rosh Hashanah and the subsequent holidays symbolize creation and the color of creativity.
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: When the Torah was given, the free-choice relationship between G d and Israel was added. From this point on, G d sets the tone in the relationship, meaning that even the service-reward reciprocity is no longer limited by our finite capacities; the Torah and its mitzvot enable us to achieve divine consciousness far in excess of our natural ability to attain.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): God has already done something. That doesn’t mean we ignore a relationship.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: The Torah repeatedly reminds us to remember that we were slaves in Egypt. The slavery and oppression we experienced are the “outline” of our becoming a people; the rest of history is filling in the colors. In a deeper sense, all human experience is framed by Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden, and all subsequent history is trying “to get back to the Garden.”
Rachel Hackenberg: In Psalm 119, twenty-two letters shape the psalmist’s prayer, but it can also be a string of beads or the fingers of a hand or the hours of the day that help us pray. It can be the simplicity of a rhyme or the faithfulness of a sunset that teaches us of God’s love. It can be an earworm or an alphabet that keeps us honest about our relationships with God and with one another.
John 4:22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: He’s gazing, they’re gnashing; who wins? Stephen won, of course, because he gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, with Jesus standing at the right hand of God! Instead of backing down, he proclaimed to the whole council, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” (Acts 7:56, NKJV). The council was furious; they stopped their ears, ran at him, then took him outside and stoned him to death. But Stephen kept His gaze on Jesus, committed his spirit to the Lord, and cried out with a loud voice to forgive those who would not listen, would not see, and would not accept Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
Daniel Pontious: You may feel surrounded this morning by circumstances and situations which are way outside of your ability to fix or control and you’re looking at your abilities and the insurmountable odds against you and saying, “God! There’s just no way out!” But with God all things are possible!!
Revelation 17:11 As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction.
Matthew 21:20 When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?”
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): We’re in a generation that’s filled with things that take us away from the Lord.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: In everyday situations, hopefully not as stressful as Stephen’s, we are offered the same choice: to be filled with the Holy Spirit as we gaze into heaven and see Jesus, or to be filled with ourselves and all the conflicted emotions and issues we carry. We can hear the gnashing of our teeth or others, or we can see Jesus. A lot of life doesn’t want to yield to Jesus, but we always can.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: The days between the 17th of Tamuz and Tisha B’Av are called the “Three Weeks.” These days represent the collective tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people over the ages, especially the destruction of both Temples which occurred during this time period. As with all other holidays or auspicious occasions, it behooves us to look deeper into the teachings these days have for each individual and the Jewish people.
Rachel Hackenberg: Learn Your Lessons
Daniel Pontious: What I love about the Word of the Lord is that He will not only tell you how to deal with your situations, but gives you the Blueprints of the enemies assault plan as well. He told them, not only what He was going to do, but also where to find the enemy and when.
Moshe Yaakov Wisnefsky: Before the Torah was given, the relationship between G d and the Jewish people was solely on the contractual and child-parent levels. Service of G d was limited; an individual could serve G d and elicit divine revelation to the extent his natural talents and faculties allowed, but no further. At the same time, G d showed the Jewish people special attention due to the divine soul they possessed from the time of Abraham.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): What are you doing with your faith? God is working in the midst of your faith.
Matthew 21:21 And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
Rachel Hackenberg: Given the complexities of the world, given the complexities of our lives, given the complexities of faith as we mature and ask hard questions and wrestle with God: it’s no wonder that sometimes we need simple tools and elementary lessons to keep us grounded.
One, two, three. A, B, C.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): How do I manage my hunger and thirst portion?
Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
Kaji Douša: One of the things that a great lawyer will do is to ask a question in a manner that will trip up the other side—either now or later. This is a great way towards a win in the adversarial process.
Rev. Anne Marie Witchger: Prayer is meant to be bold, persistent, uncomfortable; it’s meant to get results. Jesus says, “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.” It may be unlikely that adding a petition to the Prayers of the People is going to lead to any kind of radical, lasting change. So, what does Jesus mean when he says, “For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened”? It just doesn’t always seem true. Probably 9 times out of 10, a politician who offers to pray isn’t going to pray at all, and even if he or she does, it won’t mean anything practical in terms of policy or resources.
Kaji Douša: In so doing, the lawyer was not just quoting one text—since no one in the biblical narrative had put the three together just yet—but was elegantly synthesizing his read of Torah. Because this is what really good lawyers do: they sort through a whole lot of information and come up with the fastest possible way to make the point that needs to be heard.
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: Pinchas is often the portion that begins the observance of the Three Weeks. One explanation is based on the statement in the Midrash Yalkut Shimoni, that Pinchas is in fact Elijah, the harbinger of the Redemption. G d is sending us the cure before the illness! The Three Weeks are a period of mourning for the destruction of the Temple and the ensuing exile we are still suffering. The end of the exile will commence with Elijah’s announcement that the Mashiach has arrived. Behold, do not lose faith, the Redemption is in the works.

And these are the days of Your servant Moses
Righteousness being restored
And though these are days of great trial
Of famine and darkness and sword
Still, we are the voice in the desert crying

Shining like the sun at the trumpet call;
Lift your voice, it’s the year of jubilee
And out of Zion’s hill salvation comes

These are the days of Ezekiel
The dry bones becoming as flesh;
And these are the days of Your servant David
Rebuilding a temple of praise
These are the days of the harvest
The fields are as white in Your world
And we are the labourers in Your vineyard
Declaring the word of the Lord!

There’s no God like Jehovah
There’s no God like Jehovah!
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: Especially in these days when once again heavy clouds cover our collective Jewish skies, we need to focus deeply on Jewish essentials and our connection to our tradition and the land of Israel. By feeling the pain of the present moment we become motivated to take action in order to improve the situation in what ever small way we can.
Rachel Hackenberg: So long as we learn the lesson. So long as we keep returning to it, by whatever simple tools we find most useful for the living of these complex days.
Daniel Pontious: When the Lord exposes the plans of the enemy there is no longer any place for him to operate in your life and because of the lack of agreement within his own camp, your worship of the Lord will throw them completely into confusion and self destruction.
Colossians 2:18 Do not let anyone disqualify you, insisting on self-abasement and worship of angels, dwelling on visions, puffed up without cause by a human way of thinking,
Daniel Pontious: Your WORSHIP EMPOWERS THE ANGELIC!! So when you’re facing an army on all sides, WORSHIP! When you are sitting in front of an obstacle that you can’t move, WORSHIP. When you’ve done everything you know how to do and nothing else seems to work, WORSHIP and watch your enemies and God’s enemies destroy themselves as you do!
Revelation 12:4 His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Some of you don’t believe. Take it up with Jesus.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: The emotional constriction one feels when contemplating the suffering and calamities of Jewish history, augmented by some of the customs of mourning we adopt during these days, mirrors the primordial tzimtzum, or contraction, which occurred according to Kabbalah, before the creation of the world could come about. Contraction creates the outline or the “place” of the world. Like a heart beating with alternative motions of constriction and expansion, so too does all creative processes mirror this primordial energy flow.
Jo: 7.22.19: A chrysalis appears to be congealing around you. You may feel trapped or like you are wading through a time outside of time. However, any barriers or borders you encounter are meant to protect you as you go through a metamorphosis. Outside energies can muddle your advancement now; solitude is key to diving fully into your private evolution. Instead of battling the flow, surrender to it. The restrictions will eventually ease. Activate your amazing capacity to adapt and you will quickly feel reborn.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: For an individual this entails going deep within, stripping away all extraneous emotional and egotistical baggage in order to identify one’s inner essential being, and thereby identify one’s place in the world. For the Jewish people it means coming to terms with our essential purpose and mission in history. That we must follow this order of contraction and then expansion is the secret of the ongoing cycles of exile and redemption that are repeated in the Torah numerous times and which create the outline of all Jewish history to this very day.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Some of us suffer because we reap what we have sown.
Revelation 12:5 She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne,
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Something is deeply important in how we do church. Something’s been lost. I’m not going that direction today.
Ryan LeStrange (21 July 19): Do you feel like you’ve missed it?
Rachel Hackenberg: The psalmist prays in an acrostic format, with one letter of the Hebrew alphabet beginning each stanza’s lines: Aleph, Bet, Gimmel, Dalet.
A, B, C.
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman: There are 22 days during this time period, the same number as Hebrew letters.
Pastor John Tolle (21 July 19): Create a culture where the Holy Spirit is welcome.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: Take a moment and shift from self to Holy Spirit. Move out of the emotions, come out of the clamor– the fears, jeers, even the cheers of man and the moment you’re in–and step into the eternal Spirit of God. Be filled! Don’t take a mere sip or be satisfied with a fleeting moment, but be fully FILLED with His river of life flooding your spirit, with His Spirit. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Moshe Miller: It is for this reason that Rabbi Akiva warned them not to say that those two marble stones were separated from one another, G d forbid, for this is not true. On the contrary, the firmament between them, which is tiferet, actually unites them and through it they are joined together. There is no separation other than in a place of spiritual impurity, as it is written, “to separate between the impure and the pure” (Leviticus 11:47). But in a place of purity — pure marble stones — “do not say, ‘water, water.” This is what the old man was explaining, “Here there is no spiritual impurity… they are from the aspect of the Tree of Life…” These waters are in Atzilut and therefore there is no separation between them… on the contrary, the firmament unites them….

Ezekiel 17:4 He broke off the topmost of its young twigs and carried it to a land of trade and set it in a city of merchants.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (18 July 19): A rabbi who was also a successful businessman once asked the Lubavitcher Rebbe whether it would be advisable for him to leave business in order to focus exclusively on Jewish outreach, to teach Torah and encourage people to observe the Jewish commandments.
Ezekiel 17:5 Then he took of the seed of the land and planted it in fertile soil. He placed it beside abundant waters. He set it like a willow twig,
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (18 July 19): To his surprise, the Rebbe encouraged him to remain in business, explaining, “Business, too is a vehicle for sanctifying G-d’s Name.” Through your business activities you will influence Jews you would not have been able to reach as a rabbi.
Rabbi Chaim Ben Attar: As a result of these considerations, obtaining the priesthood by way of an act of forgiveness from G d is superior in three ways to obtaining it as a mere gift. 1) No normal act of acquisition is needed. 2) One need not worry about potential challengers to one’s promotion. 3) It is an enduring status transferable to one’s children and grandchildren as something hereditary.
Revelation 1: 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): Foals are irresistible. They are precocious and lively; they cavort and air gallop and sleep flat-out. When they wake up, they’re an inch taller and even more curious about the world than before their nap. They have newborn piaffes and sliding stops. They jump like frogs. They are a fresh start, a whole new life. Who doesn’t want that?
Ezekiel 17:6 and it sprouted and became a low spreading vine, and its branches turned toward him, and its roots remained where it stood. So it became a vine and produced branches and put out boughs.
John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in Me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from Me you can do nothing.
Amanda Grace (in “Mischief” 17 July 19): I the Lord thy God am separating the wheat from the tares. Watch closely, says the Spirit, as the Almighty, King of kings, causes the dividing line. Who is truly for Me, says the Lord, shall stand, shall be favored, shall accelerate, and will preach with more power and potency than ever before. There shall be others that not only shall fade out, but, I the Lord, shall rip the mask off and the titles that they in their flesh gave themselves, and attempted as the Pied Piper to lead those who were searching down a winding path of confusion and of intermixing and intermingling in the spirit in ways, I, the Lord, never condoned in My Word.
Ezekiel 17:7 “And there was another great eagle with great wings and much plumage, and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him and shot forth its branches toward him from the bed where it was planted, that he might water it.
Brat: I really relate to that verse.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): Let’s define training as gathering good experiences where the horse feels safe. Safety equals trust. Now, replace the word training with the word nurturing and hold yourself to that standard.
Ezekiel 17:8 It had been planted on good soil by abundant waters, that it might produce branches and bear fruit and become a noble vine.
Binyomin Adilman: The Torah enjoins us to cleave and attach ourselves to G d. (Deut. 10:20, 13:5) Yet the Sages ask, how is that possible? Is not G d a devouring fire; and one who cleaves to Him will be consumed? (Deut. 9:3)
Anna Blake (19 July 19): Still, I understand about fillies and colts and humans who can’t say no, so here are some thoughts about starting a young horse.
Ezekiel 17:9 “Say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Will it thrive? Will he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, so that it withers, so that all its fresh sprouting leaves wither? It will not take a strong arm or many people to pull it from its roots.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): I want this young horse to have a calm strong mind, so regardless of what I’m teaching, I will model calm and quiet conversations. I’ll laugh because it relaxes both of us. I’ll challenge him but never frighten him. I’ll keep breathing, teaching myself as much as him, that a cue to breathe is a cue to relax. I’ll trust breath above training aids because connection happens, not with flags and spurs, but inside warm exhales
Ezekiel 17:10 Behold, it is planted; will it thrive? Will it not utterly wither when the east wind strikes it—wither away on the bed where it sprouted?”
Israel 365 (18 July 19): Yesterday dozens of fires raged across Israel. Please pray for the safety and security of the citizens of Israel. The community of Aderet, in which Israel365 planted trees 2 weeks ago, was evacuated. Countless crops, fields, and trees have already been destroyed. We learn from the verse above that God will Redeem His people. God is with us, protecting us as He promised; “When you pass through water, I will be with you; Through streams, They shall not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, You shall not be scorched; Through flame, It shall not burn you” (Isaiah 43:2). Now that yesterday’s fires are under control, we will begin to rebuild and replant all that was burnt.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): We had a plan. We were challenged by our last horse so we want to start a foal, confident that we can handle problems of our own making. As if those problems are easier. Or we want a youngster so we can have the horse longer. Clearly a newbie, human plans are confetti in a barn. Or we want a horse to grow up with our kid, one of the most dubious parenting choices ever. Some of us just want to try.
Israel 365 (18 July 19): ✡ Redemption From Yesterday’s Fires
You championed my cause, O Hashem, You have redeemed my life
Lamentations 3:58 (The Israel Bible™)
Anna Blake (19 July 19): How to start a young horse is no different than how to rehab a troubled horse or connect with an old campaigner. Never lose sight of them as foals. Remember their true nature; the things you love about horses. Then, say yes to remind them of who they were born to be.
Candice Simmons (19 July 19): “Surprise! What May Seem to You Like a Setback is Really My Setup!”
Brat: And how many times have I heard that one over the last decade? At this point these sound like words of man, not God. To me this sounds like more CYA. Nothing will change as long as y’all glean from what I’ve written and yet treat me as if I do not exist. That is cruel. Period.
Ezekiel 17:11 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 12 “Say now to the rebellious house, Do you not know what these things mean? Tell them, behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took her king and her princes and brought them to him to Babylon.
House of Destiny (19 July 19): Messianic Prophecies – The Messiah Would Bring In A New Covenant
Ezekiel 17:13 And he took one of the royal offspring and made a covenant with him, putting him under oath (the chief men of the land he had taken away),
Brat: Lord, You took away Kim Clement. He died.
Ezekiel 17:14 that the kingdom might be humble and not lift itself up, and keep his covenant that it might stand.
Rabbi Chaim Ben Attar: Receiving the priesthood as a gift carries with it two disadvantages which the person who received the priesthood as an act of forgiveness need not worry about. If the priesthood was attained via G d forgiving Pinchas for an act of negligence in the past, then, if Pinchas were to be appointed High Priest at a future date he would not have to face any challengers. Any challenge would be dealt with as had the challenges against Aaron becoming High Priest. If the priesthood were to be granted only as a gift, the priest in question could face challenges to his promotion just as did Aaron before G d had intervened. Such a challenge would be reinforced by the fact that Pinchas had killed. A priest who has killed is supposedly unfit to perform his priestly duties. People would claim that inasmuch as the status of the priesthood granted as a gift is limited to the recipient of that gift becoming an ordinary priest, such a priest does not qualify to compete for the office of High Priest. This is not so when a potential priest regains his former status through the act of G d’s forgiveness. Seeing that he had been in line for the office of High Priest before he had forfeited it through negligence, G d’s forgiveness reinstates such a potential priest in his former status.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): If it was easy to start a youngster, we’d all have flawless riding horses and we could squander money on new boots instead of supporting rescues. It isn’t just backyard-bred horses started by novice riders that get into trouble; it’s famous trainers turning out horses no one can ride. It’s the knowledgeable Quarter Horse owner who ends up with a Thoroughbred who turns their toolbox inside-out. It’s an imported warmblood with impeccable bloodlines who can’t live up to our hype.
Ezekiel 17:15 But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and a large army. Will he thrive? Can one escape who does such things? Can he break the covenant and yet escape?
Lauren Daigle: “Rescue” [https://youtu.be/3U4Q2R7ZZAE]
Brat (17 July 19): “Ambassadors” were sent to “Egypt.”

There’s so much more and the web is much more complex, but is the picture becoming any clearer?
Ezekiel 9:2 And I saw six men [*] coming from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with a deadly weapon in his hand. With them was a man clothed in linen who had a writing kit at his side. They came in and stood beside the bronze altar.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (18 July 19): A big THANK YOU to all Ascent’s Ambassadors, donors and supporters! Due to your dedicated efforts we reached our goal of $1 million! Now we begin the renovations, handicapped access and upgrading of programming spaces so Ascent can open the hearts of one million Jews!
Brat: Thank you, Daddy Warbucks for helping them out!
Quinn G. Caldwell: He doesn’t ever say, “I’m sorry,” so that’s a problem. But he does ask for forgiveness, effectively if not actually. Most importantly, he actually tries to fix the material damage he has done. To replace what he has stolen. To repair the breach with solid materials and not just words. That is to say, he makes reparations.
Ezekiel 17:16 “As I live, declares the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant with him he broke, in Babylon he shall die.
Binyomin Adilman: Therefore, in order to cleave to G d, one must cleave to the tzadikim and Torah scholars of the generation. Their depth of knowledge of the Torah and of the ways of G d represent the will of G d. By attaching oneself to them, one becomes bound in rapture to G d.

Quinn G. Caldwell: When there’s been a breach, apologies matter. Words matter. But here’s what Jacob knows, even with all his faults: when the breach is in the form of stolen wealth, wealth is the only thing that can repair it.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): My first professional training job was at a breeding farm. I had a flock of weanlings, some feral. I had the time of my life introducing them to leading, picking up their tiny hooves, making trailer loading a game. In the years since then, I’ve worked with mostly adult horses, many who don’t lead or feel safe enough to pick up their feet or flatly refuse a trailer ride. When healthy midlife horses are re-homed, it’s usually because of training issues. Some horses land with a patient new owner, some get worse through several owners, and some fall through the cracks, their lives disposable. I do know they were all brilliant foals.
Ezekiel 17:17 Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company will not help him in war, when mounds are cast up and siege walls built to cut off many lives.
Charisma (19 July 19): Why is This Happening to Us?
Brat: Kim Clement’s studio is still active in Camarillo, CA, where I live, too.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): Youngsters are imperfect learners. They can be loading fine and then get a fright and refuse. They can take a canter cue or lead from behind brilliantly one day, and be hopeless the next. We must stop seeing immaturity as a failing on the horse’s part. Ask for small things in short sessions. Allow him to move out; moving is thinking. When he comes to stillness, he understands. Praise generously and stop when both of you are hungry for more.
Torren Wells: “God’s Not Done With You” [https://youtu.be/cVHrkYBEgFM]
Rabbi Chaim Ben Attar: In His wisdom, G d decided to accord Pinchas the priesthood as a gift in order to demonstrate that he did not become a priest merely through a hereditary claim to the priesthood instead of a claim based on moral excellence. By appointing Pinchas as a priest directly, G d elevated the meaning of Pinchas’ priesthood, made it into something which he could point to as a mark of personal distinction. This is why the Torah describes G d as saying: “Surely I give to him My covenant, peace.” In view of our having pointed out that such a gift by definition may not be transferable to one’s children, G d had to reinforce the gift by an oath, i.e. the word ‘achen/surely’, in order to make the appointment as enduring as if it had been acquired through an act of forgiveness. This is why G d had to add: “to him and his descendants after him”. The word “peace” included that no one would challenge Pinchas’ claim to the priesthood and the office of High Priest when the time came.
Ezekiel 17:18 He despised the oath in breaking the covenant, and behold, he gave his hand and did all these things; he shall not escape.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (18 July 19): The order that G-d made in His world is (Devarim 15:18) that, “G-d, our Lord will bless us in all we do.” This means that G-d gives each and every Jew their physical needs and livelihood when we make a vessel to contain the blessing. We have to do something to get the blessing.
Pastor John Tolle (17 July 19): For those of us today, we must learn from what Jesus did and accept the power of his Holy Spirit to step out and, by faith, do the works of His kingdom. What do you think?
Hebrews 4: 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): Most important of all, I know that when a horse is curious, he builds neuropathways which literally create a strong mind. Giving him time to think means he can stay in his parasympathetic nervous system where he can make good choices and be rewarded. Curiosity grows into mental health which turns into confidence and a confident horse will see challenge as a fun game. I’ll always prioritize curiosity over a training technique because if a horse is always frightened, flooded by erratic, confusing cues or intimidated by threats and corrections, he will stop being curious. He’ll shut down; pull inside himself as if playing dead. If we don’t listen and keep pushing, eventually he’ll get almost hard-wired to respond with his flight or sympathetic nervous system. He won’t be reliable because we’ve sacrificed trust for fear-based obedience. When you look at it that way, pushing him too hard creates a real mental dysfunction. We know horses like that, don’t we?
Ezekiel 17:19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: As I live, surely it is my oath that he despised, and my covenant that he broke. I will return it upon his head.
Brat (in “Mail Call” 8 July 19): Like writing isn’t doing something? I write and get no responses when I share. That’s not courteous. There’s not even an attempt at a reciprocal relationship. The divine flow starts with God, goes to the people, and is supposed to return. The Word is not supposed to return void. There has to be accountability. If there are repeat offenders, the Church is supposed to call them out. Forgiveness does not mean reconciliation.
Ezekiel 17:20 I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon and enter into judgment with him there for the treachery he has committed against me.
Hebrews 4: 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (18 July 19): A person could mistakenly think, especially when he is engrossed in the work world, that there is no difference between them and a non-Jew. Both have to work and through their efforts there might, or might not, be results. This was Lavan’s mistake. He said, “The daughters are mine and the sons are mine.” That the materiality of the Jewish people is his! Jews and non-Jews are the same.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): All were beautiful foals, perfect in every way. No blame intended, just to say that training is an art that comes with a serious responsibility. Their life is at stake, nothing less.
Ezekiel 17:21 And all the pick of his troops shall fall by the sword, and the survivors shall be scattered to every wind, and you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken.”
Breaking Israel News (19 July 19): Report: Trump Emissaries Sent to Ask Major Israeli Rabbi, “When Will Messiah Come?”
Hebrews 4: 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Ezekiel 17:22 Thus says the Lord GOD: “I myself will take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and will set it out. I will break off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I myself will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (18 July 19): This is what Bilaam was admitting in his prophesy when he said, “From their very beginnings, I see them as mountains!” That each Jew, in every aspect of his/her life, is connected to G-d just like our holy forefathers. And so it should also be by every Jewish person, that when he or she is involved in physical activities, trying to make a living, he/she must focus on this – that the reason behind everything he or she does is because G-d wants even our physical activities to be elevated and create a fitting place for G-d to dwell. How do we do this? By acting in an appropriate way as is fitting for a person totally connected to the King of Kings. That in everything we do, however we behave, is according to the laws of the Torah, for the sake of heaven and for serving G-d. When we behave in this way, even when involved in our material and physical pursuits, we are not separated from G-d in any way, because G-d’s inner intention is felt in everything. And then, by making a vessel, G-d will bless us and supply us with everything we need.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): Behaviors come and go, but I won’t let myself make one misstep an issue for my horse by drilling or over-correcting. If he makes a small effort, that’s enough. He was curious so let him figure it out. Since I rewarded his try, he’ll feel confident to try more the next time.
Ezekiel 17:23 On the mountain height of Israel will I plant it, that it may bear branches and produce fruit and become a noble cedar. And under it will dwell every kind of bird; in the shade of its branches birds of every sort will nest.
Matthew 13: 31 He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. 32 It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”
Psalm 52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.
Pastor Steve Dittmar (in “Mischief” 17 July 19): See yourself with Christ, your life hidden with Christ in God; accepted in the Beloved, standing in Christ, holy and without blame before the Father in love. Practice in prayer now, because the next thing we are all going to see is His coming on the clouds of heaven! Now, that will really undo everything and everyone.
Brat: Holy God Almighty, Jesus King of heaven and earth, I have not yet seen the manifestation of Your power in reconciliation, recompense, restitution, sanctuary for the afflicted, and Your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, but I am trusting on faith that You are faithful to Your Word. You keep Your promises.
Anna Blake (19 July 19): I’ll remember and do better for this young horse in front of me. Youngsters can be so bright and quick; they can make you think they’re capable of more than they are. Then we get excited that they’re such geniuses and ask for just one more repetition. A baby horse will try. We know we should go slow, but it’s hard to let it be good enough. When the youngster hits a wall, we think their overwhelm is resistance. “You know how to do this!” we threaten but maybe that day he can’t. As an apology to generations of homeless horses, if what I’m asking isn’t working, I’ll stop. I won’t repeat the useless cue louder. I’ll make peace and let it go that day. I’ll find a better way to ask because training requires us to be more creative than demanding.
Psalm 52:9 I will thank You forever, because of what You have done. In the presence of the faithful I will proclaim Your name, for it is good.
Quinn G. Caldwell: Prayer
Holy One, whenever I screw up, let the reparations I make be sufficient. Amen.
Ezekiel 9:3 Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the LORD called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side
Rabbi Shaul Leiter (18 July 19): It’s summer time – Ascent is filled with interesting programs. Please come visit!
Psalm 27:4 One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.
Ezekiel 17:24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the LORD; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it.”

Psalm 52:1 Why do you boast, O mighty one, of mischief done against the godly? All day long
Donna Schaper: Today, many of our churches describe themselves as the best-kept secret in town, although we are working to share that secret: through websites and social media campaigns these days more often than printed newsletters. We have stopped promoting our histories and have started saying that our best days are today and tomorrow. We are trying not place a period where God has put a comma.
Matthew 5:18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): We’re not willing to stumble over our words
Psalm 52:2 you are plotting destruction. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, you worker of treachery.
Simon Jacobson: Of all people, Balaam — no friend of Israel — is the one that teaches us the way to reach eternity.
Revelation 2: 14 But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality.
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: Moses and Balak typify Jewish and non-Jewish leadership, respectively
Pastor Steve Dittmar: This meant that God the Father had exalted the Son of Man to sit with Him at His right hand, waiting for His enemies to be made a footstool. Now, when we pray, do we see Jesus seated in Glory at the right hand of God? When we pray, do we see Him high above all principality, power, might, dominion, and every name that is named? And if we do, do we see Him demanding perfection of us, or do we see HIM being our perfection?
Simon Jacobson: This is Balaam’s blessed message: “Who can count the dust of Jacob.” Jacob embodies bittul. Since Jacob is bittul like dust, “Jacob is the small one” who is not consumed with self-value, but has suspended his self and become an extension of that which us beyond himself, than how can he ever be counted? There is no measured entity to be counted.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: “For there is no sorcery in Yaakov, nor any divination among Israel.” “For there is no sorcery in Yaakov, nor any divination among Israel.”
Brat: I believe that is true. I believe you have ears to hear and eyes to see what the Spirit is saying and revealing.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Do you wait for Him to show up?
Lana Vawser: There is a maturing God has been developing within these forerunners and pioneers to see them respond to words of jealousy, accusation or hurtful words with a heart of love like Jesus.
Habakkuk 1:16 Therefore he sacrifices to his net
and makes offerings to his dragnet;
for by them he lives in luxury,
and his food is rich.
Mary Luti: Here’s what Jesus taught instead: Stand with the victims of the violent. See them. Be their witness. Instead of fanning rage, do the works of mercy. Do them even when you think you can’t. Even when you have to suffer for it.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: What was it about declaring Jesus, seen standing next to God in heaven, or Jesus declaring that after His resurrection, this would be the place where He would be seen, that would cause such violence, disruption, and death? It’s that these words are threatening. These words of truth—Jesus seated at the right hand of God—declare the authority, power and place of the Messiah and His coming Glory!
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): Over the past year or more, I have personally noticed in my own walk with Jesus Christ that some hard truths have come to light. I cannot apologize for the truth. It has set me free. His Word and His Spirit has set me free. My desire and intent is for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see to hear to see the truth, and the truth can only be found in God and His Word. There are things I have believed that were deception. That is the problem with deception. You do not know you are deceived. I saw things by the Spirit and sensed things that I did not want to see or to know. Isn’t it funny how we ask for the things of God and when He begins to reveal them to us, it brings change that we did not think was necessary. The true sheep hear His voice and follow Him. They will not follow a stranger (John 10:4-5).
Pastor Steve Dittmar: Seeing the glorified Christ TODAY will prepare us for the returning Christ TOMORROW!
Psalm 15:4 in whose eyes the wicked are despised, but who honor those who fear the LORD; who stand by their oath even to their hurt;
Lana Vawser: I watched as the pioneers and forerunners who were feeling the impact of these negative words coming against them from their brothers/sisters in Christ not respond in offense, not respond in hurt or pain, but respond in love. I saw them on their faces weeping, not because of the pain, but out of the love that they felt for the very ones who were cursing them, as they received the Father’s heart for their brothers/sisters. There was strength found in the blessing of those who were cursing them. They were motivated by His heart and a heart of forgiveness, blessings and reconciliation.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): The more we see ourselves as victims, the less we hear the Holy Spirit.
Foursquare Church: Time does NOT heal all wounds
Rick Joyner: This is parallel to the way leaders are now chosen in the church. Loyalty to a denomination or a movement can eclipse our loyalty to Christ. In both the spiritual and the natural we must return to and strengthen ourselves in the only foundations that will stand. What do we have to do that is more important than this?
Mary Luti: Their impunity enrages me. I doubt hell exists, but for them I really want it to. It’s not becoming, but I want them to feel the pain of what they’ve done. Forever and ever, amen.
Simon Jacobson: This experience of “nothingness” (bittul) expresses itself in ultimate humility, which should not be confused with low self-esteem. Humility is a strength that is completely aware if its own strengths (as opposed to someone who has no confidence), yet recognizes that the strengths are not self-made; they originate from a higher source. Humility is utter self-assuredness, but always cognizant of a higher presence.
David Sidman: Israel Fire and Rescue Chief Dudi Simchi, declared a “red alert” whereby all the firefighters, as well as volunteer firefighters, are called up to help extinguish forest fires that are have engulfed Israel. “Red Alert” is the highest level of readiness and this is the first time it has been enacted in Israel’s history.
Chuck McKnight: The standard Evangelical teaching is that hell is a place for those who don’t believe in Jesus, and there are a few passages that can be read that way on the surface. But they are the minority. More often than not, biblical references to hell and judgment are in response to social evils carried out in the here and now.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): If they reject Jesus, they’ll reject us as well.
Psalm 52:6 The righteous will see, and fear, and will laugh at the evildoer, saying,
Mary Luti: And don’t plot revenge. Or hope that the universe will do it for you. The only way to makes things better in the face of violence is to refrain from doing, or wanting, more.
Chuck McKnight: Sure, I’ve spent plenty of time parsing out the nuances of the different views on hell, and explaining why I see it as something God intends to ultimately lead to universal reconciliation. Yet I haven’t just presented hell, in itself, as much of anything to fear or worry about experiencing.
Amanda Grace: I the Lord thy God am separating the wheat from the tares.
Chuck McKnight: And it’s not just Jesus. All throughout the Bible, the threat of God’s judgment is tied to social injustice. Take, for example, that infamous sin of Sodom, for which fire and brimstone rained from the sky. Scripture could not be more clear:
This was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty, and did abominable things before me; therefore I removed them when I saw it. (Ezek. 16:49–50)
Anna Blake (12 July 19): For the quad-trillionth time, my favorite Xenophon quote from 430 B.C., “For what the horse does under compulsion … is done without understanding and there is no beauty in it either, any more than if one should whip and spur a dancer.”
Chuck McKnight: For example, Jesus preaches hell for those who harm children, he preaches hell for those who fail to welcome strangers or provide basic necessities for those in need, he preaches hell for those who hoard excessive wealth, and he really goes off on hypocritical religious leaders who use their faith as a mask to hide their own complicity in such things:
“You snakes, you brood of vipers! How can you escape being sentenced to hell?” (Matt. 23:33).

Lana Vawser: Recently the Lord put the FORERUNNERS AND PIONEERS on my heart heavily. There are many that are forerunning right now and many pioneers who have been in such an intense battle and the fire has been so very hot. These forerunners and pioneers are “making way” are carving out the pathways that have not been walked before. They are walking with the Lord and following the leading of the Holy Spirit to move into unchartered territories, pave pathways that are seemingly “against the grain” and do what has “never been done before” in obedience to the Lord.
David Sidman: Though it was planted in rich soil beside abundant water—so that it might grow branches and produce boughs and be a noble vine ~ Ezekiel 17: 8 (The Israel Bible™)
Brat: I read all of Ezekiel chapter 17 (several times). “Ambassadors” were already sent to “Egypt.”
Ezekiel 17:11 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 12 “Say now to the rebellious house, Do you not know what these things mean? Tell them, behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took her king and her princes and brought them to him to Babylon. 13 And he took one of the royal offspring and made a covenant with him, putting him under oath (the chief men of the land he had taken away), 14 that the kingdom might be humble and not lift itself up, and keep his covenant that it might stand. 15 But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and a large army. Will he thrive? Can one escape who does such things? Can he break the covenant and yet escape?
Lauren Dagel: “Rescue” [https://youtu.be/3U4Q2R7ZZAE]
Pastor John Tolle (17 July 19): WHAT DO YOU THINK? Jesus’ means of discipling his followers was quite different from our American approach. We tend to believe that the more we study the Bible, the more “equipped” we will be to do the works of Jesus Christ. But it does not appear to be what has happened. There is a severe lack of “doing the works of Christ” among contemporary Christians. Instead, the “professionals” are “the ones” who do it. The pastors, TV preachers, seminar leaders, the gifted bloggers, and seminary professors are the experts. Let them do it.
Larry Sparks: Responsive Prayers: Responding to What’s Written in God’s Scrolls
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): The fear of man is being bred into the hearts of people who would dare speak truth about misguided leadership. Curses are decreed and declared against those who oppose unrighteousness. Those who would not fall into rank are labeled enemies of the “anointed”. Corruption abounds. Compromise is celebrated. A prophetic word is given precedence over the God breathed Word. Yes, history has a way of repeating itself. It is a different century, and the apparel is more hip, but it is the same. There is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9).
Amanda Grace: Many of these issues will be permanently put to bed and removed, eradicated, severed, and legally in My courts and the earthly courts halted and stopped. I, the Lord, say this day, that their treachery will cost them and there will be barriers so they will not, the wicked, the puppets, the mockers, the scorners, the thieves, and the deceivers, will NOT be able to enter anywhere near the presence of my anointed again, says the Lord.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: A Friend in High Places
Fr. Dwight Longenecker: Is Benedict XVI Still the Pope?
Chuck McKnight: Any of this sounding familiar yet?
Pastor Steve Dittmar: The truth is, we have a Friend in high places! Jesus appears today in the presence of God for us, or better yet, over us. We are in Christ; our life is hidden with Christ in God. When we approach the throne of grace, we come boldly through Christ and are received in Christ. We are accepted in the Beloved! We are holy and without blame in Christ before the Father. Everything that Jesus has accomplished, He has freely given to us in Himself. And we find that this is where He is seated at the right hand of Majesty.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Jesus said we would do greater things than He did. When He said He was going to the Father to take His rightful place, He begins to intercede for you and me. When He does that He releases His Spirit on to us.
Mary Luti: Here’s the problem though: Even if the psalmist is right and there’s some sort of built-in payback in the universe, no one should rejoice. Because payback always means more violence. It punishes, but it doesn’t fix a thing. And it doesn’t satisfy. If you’re even a little like me, you could watch pit diggers drop screaming into pits all day long and still want more. All you’re left with is a corroded heart.
Amanda Grace: The rod of correction is being dispatched and there are corrections taking place. I, the Lord, chastise those I love. However, this rod will be intense, for there will be some who have dug their heels into the wrong soil, into the wrong principles, and growing problems like weeds, and causing those to be caught in confusion and coils. I, the Lord, will correct, and those who do not bend to correction will see things in their lives snap in two.
Sophia Buller: Amanda talked about a snake intruder in her message and how God Gave her authority to cast it out. We had a rattlesnake in our back yard and my dad killed the rattlesnake intruder. It was hidden behind our trash cans and my dad found it when he was about to take out the trash for trash day. The symbolism is sure something! God is taking out the trash and dealing with the snakes just like my dad dealt with the rattlesnake he found when he was getting ready for trash day. Kathryn God has a sense of humor
Lana Vawser: Where there has been “battle” and “attack” and “opposition” on every front, the tables are turning, the shift is taking place where you shall now see MAJOR demonstrations of His faithfulness manifesting in your life on EVERY SIDE.
Chuck McKnight: When Jesus preaches hell, he’s usually pretty pissed. And he has no qualms about threatening wrongdoers with the prospect of a particularly undesirable experience.
Amie Rogers: Hidden things are being revealed right now, in every area of concern and contention. There is new wisdom, discernment and strategies to swiftly put an end to hang-ups of the past and open the doors to step into this next season. This isn’t going to happen while you sleep; it will happen in your intercession, so start opening your mouth. Get in that quiet time. Intercede over those dreams, over those prophetic promises you’ve held close to your heart. Speak restoration over those relationships; declare that healing over every level of sickness. Slam the gavel down on all areas of injustice and demand a 10-fold payback of everything – and I mean EVERYTHING – the enemy has stolen! IT IS TIME.
Larry Sparks: We cannot pray reactively, we must pray responsively. Reactive prayers sound like we are constantly trying to clean up messes made by the devil. By nature, we are reacting to the very real and present darkness around us. I refuse to pretend away the darkness in our land in favor of a pie-in-the-sky, end-times scenario.
Lana Vawser: “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..” (Matthew 5:44 ESV)
Danielle Dixon: I sense like many other prophetic voices the atmosphere is pregnant with the prophetic promises of God the nations are groaning to see the precious fruit of the earth.
Jo (RE: “Summer Fruit” 17 July 19): I had not read Anna Blake’s piece. It is beautiful. I know why you love her writing. I made a point of reading this when I got up this morning. I hear you. It is like a cacophony of thoughts clashing and warring using the words of the bible to do warfare. So many opinions and so many quotes. A biblical word slinging. Brat comes in to comment and point out, yet the din rages. I read it twice trying to hear what was really being said. That God has abandon us all, or is right around the corner? If you were all in a big auditorium no one could hear one another for the shouting. No one is listening to the other. This is not an exchange. It is a everybody expressing what they believe together in a discordant loud noise. Brat softly points out the obvious. She is not heard in the huge volume of words and words with little connection. God let someone stand up and HEAR
Chuck McKnight: If we progressive Christians are going to be truly Christlike, we just might need to start preaching hell again too. The time has passed for gentle rebukes to those involved in the kind of atrocities we’re seeing.
Mary Luti: But that’s not the way the world usually works. Usually violence and injustice go unpunished. The wicked don’t suffer the consequences of their wickedness. They laugh all the way to the bank.
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): Indulgences were a large part of the Catholic church, and they were used to collect money from the masses and in exchange, deceased family members and even the surviving relative could supposedly diminish time in purgatory. In essence, indulgences were a way to get closer to God and to earn a thing through works rather than understanding that the righteous shall live by faith and that the only way to the Father is through faith in Jesus Christ. Indulgences funded much self indulgence in the church during that time and corruption abounded. History has a way of repeating itself. The voices declaring truth were mocked and silenced in fear that power and money would be lost. But the Truth has a way of not ever being overcome by the darkness.
Danielle Dixon: The Lord reminded me of the end time significance of the book of Daniel as he had so many times before. I was seeking the Lord regarding unanswered prayer and unfulfilled dreams and visions at this crucial time within the Body of Christ.
Larry Sparks: The ultimate question should not be what is the devil doing? The question is what is God saying? The truth is, we will pray prayers that are driven by one or the other. We can pray based on what the enemy is doing in our nation—with such prayers sounding frantic, hopeless and full of despair—OR, we can be very alert and in tune with the darkness, while praying superior prayers not driven by what darkness is doing, but are rather influenced by the word and purposes of the Lord.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Paul’s message was not with enticing words but a demonstration of Holy Spirit power. They were not just words. The criteria was not intellectually inspired. If you only make sermons on logic and reason, we leave out the Holy Spirit and we don’t see miracles and healing.
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: This is all fine and good, but why did Balak have to make the people afraid too, especially when he was not looking for a military solution? Isn’t the function of leadership to strengthen the people? The Sages wrote, “Evil people are controlled by their hearts” (Bereishit Rabba 34:10). When an evil person is afraid, his or her heart rejects logic allowing the fear to take control and become apparent, and spread to everyone he or she influences. So has it been with demagogues throughout history.
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): How many of you ponder on church history? I found myself meditating on the ninety five theses from Martin Luther. These statements were nailed to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany more than five hundred years ago, and this act sparked what we now know as the Protestant Reformation. It was scandalous, and it cost Martin Luther much for challenging the current atmosphere and teachings of the Catholic church in his time. Imagine bringing the Light of truth into the Dark Ages, a time when everyday people did not have Bibles, and they entrusted clergy to tell them what the Word of God truly said. Sadly, they did not receive the truth. Surely, this would not happen again or a reformation would ensue.
Mary Luti: I confess: I want pit diggers to fall into their own holes. I want tormenters to suffer the torments they dish out, like those rhino poachers I read about recently who got stomped on by elephants and eaten by lions. Only a pair of pants remained. Serves ’em right.
Lana Vawser: In the midst of this new era we have entered these forerunners and pioneers have been facing battles on every front. The Lord kept using the word “relentless” with me as I sat with Him. They have been facing relentless opposition and attack, and much of their opposition has been from the words of man speaking against what God is doing in their lives, through their lives and the mandate of God upon them because it “goes against the grain” and what is “expected” or defined as “normal”. These ones have remained faithful to the Lord and continued to move in obedience to what God has spoken to them.
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): I would propose to you that we are in a “dark age”. The difference is that the Word is present, but many are relying upon others to tell them what it says, and because of that, many are being led astray. We are at risk of not knowing the unadulterated Word of God. Unadulterated is pure and not mixed with any different or extra elements. It is complete and absolute (Google Dictionary). The danger in this is that not knowing the unadulterated Word leads to not knowing the authentic Christ. Another Christ is presented (Galatians 1:6-9) and is being presented even now. The Word of God does not need a tune up or a transformation. It is not outdated. It is us who are in need of transformation and reformation.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): The religious leaders take exception. They brag on being the illuminated people by which powers they were doing.
Psalm 15:5 who do not lend money at interest, and do not take a bribe against the innocent. Those who do these things shall never be moved.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: The only way we will succeed is with the help of people like you who know Ascent and believe in our mission.
Psalm 15:2 Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart;
Pastor John Tolle (17 July 19): But there’s a problem. The more we “let them do it” and the more we drill down to be an expert in knowing the history, the meaning of words, the grammar and so on of the Bible, we tend to eliminate the greatest majority of believers from ever becoming proficient in doing what Jesus did. Do you remember that the early disciples were seen as uneducated, ordinary, and low-echelon people? Acts 4:13 reminds us of this. But it also says, “they had been with Jesus.” That’s the key.
Simcha-Shmuel Treister: This is also why it is stated that the wicked [relatively speaking] swallows up the one more righteous than he, but the consummate tzadik is not swallowed. (Habakkuk 1:13 and Berachot 7b)
Habakkuk 1:13 You who are of purer eyes than to see evil
and cannot look at wrong,
why do you idly look at traitors
and remain silent when the wicked swallows up
the man more righteous than he?
Pastor John Tolle (17 July 19): Jesus’ methodology of making you and me his disciple is far more action oriented just as it was with his early disciples. As one great man of God said, Jesus “disciples learned by doing as he did.”
Psalm 15:1 O LORD, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill?
Lana Vawser: God is majorly increasing favour upon these ones in extravagant ways to see His Kingdom extended, to see His name lifted high, to see many come to know Jesus.
Pastor John Tolle (17 July 19): Please don’t misinterpret the previous statement as being opposed to Bible study. I am not! However, a reading of the Book of Acts, and the rest of the New Testament, for that matter, suggests that the normal “follower” of Jesus should and can do what Jesus did. (John 14:12) It’s not solely packing the intellectual knowledge of the Word of God into our heads but in doing what Jesus has commanded us to do.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: If all of our friends give what they can, together we will Touch a Million Hearts.
Habakkuk 1:14 You make mankind like the fish of the sea,
like crawling things that have no ruler.
Chuck McKnight: Could something written 2,500 years ago possibly better describe what is going on at the border today?
Habakkuk 1:15 He brings all of them up with a hook;
he drags them out with his net;
he gathers them in his dragnet;
so he rejoices and is glad.
Mark 1:17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

Rick Joyner: Democracy did not fail in America—we failed democracy. We can have the best form of government but still have bad government if we do not have good people in it. At the root of the crisis that now threatens the continued existence of our Republic is the way that we choose those who run for office. It is a process that the best potential leaders in the country will not get involved in because it is so contrary to what would bring out the best leadership. It rewards compliance and loyalty to the party above competence and loyalty to the nation.
Charisma (12 July 19): Incorporate God’s Word into your prayers
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): Please test the words you hear, including the ones you find on this blog. If you know Jesus Christ, you are anointed and the anointing you have is not your own. There are no little believers and big believers in the church. There are simply brothers and sisters in Christ who should be able to sharpen one another. Do not fear man, but fear God. Read your Bible and know what it says in the proper context. Rightly divide the Word. Test the spirits. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Do not be prideful or think more of yourself than others. Do not be deceived. Stay awake! Jesus is returning for a pure and spotless bride. Reformation is at our doorstep.
Lana Vawser: God is going to send you forth with such specific heavenly wisdom for others also that He will position you to release this wisdom to the people He connects you with that will bring significant cultural change to the areas of culture they have influence in. The Daniels truly are arising.
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): Another reformation is at hand
Psalm 15:3 who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors;
Amanda Grace: Truly I say to you this day, IT IS FINISHED! And they do not have a choice in the matter. They will suddenly in their entirety be removed and they will not pose a threat or an issue to My children, My chosen, says the Lord.

Lana Vawser: These forerunners and pioneers are partnering with the Spirit of God to break through hard ground, to break open ancient wells, to push through man made structures at His leading to see the tidal wave of His Spirit and presence come in a way that we have never seen before.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): There are some of us who believe the Spirit-filled life means speaking in tongues. When you buy a shoe, a tongue is included. It’s part of the package. They forget completely what the calling of God is.
Psalm 52:4 You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.
Habakkuk 1:17 Is he then to keep on emptying his net
and mercilessly killing nations forever?
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Today we’d probably need group counseling.
Chuck McKnight: But—and this is a major but—I also have to wrestle with the fact that Jesus himself doesn’t tend to treat hell quite like I do. I don’t mean to suggest that I am now recanting my overall view on hell, and I don’t mean that Jesus speaks against the view I hold. I absolutely believe that scripture, taken as a whole and interpreted with the character of God as revealed in Jesus, points toward a hopeful eventual reconciliation of everyone. However, in the most immediate context of the passages where hell and judgment come up, such reconciliation is rarely the focus.
Donna Schaper: It’s a good thing that God is still speaking while we are all finding our way,
Rick Joyner: What are we waiting for?
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): I believe that there is reformation that must take place in us as the church before we can truly see the deep manifestation of the true remnant, the bride of Christ. Another reformation is needed in the church, and the casting down of prophetic indulgences is only one of several areas that must be addressed and rectified because people are perishing for a lack of knowledge. 1 John 2:20-21 tells us,
“But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.”
Steve Shultz: P.S. Many newer or emerging prophets DO get it right when they call for emergency prayer. But it’s important that when we publish a warning to the whole Body of Christ, they should know and understand that it’s a credible prophet who is issuing this warning.

Larry Sparks: The veil of mystery surrounding prophetic messages from Heaven cannot motivate us to immediately indulge our “push button” society, where we jump out and simply share the word as is, in its uninterpreted, strongly-symbolic or allegorical format. Certainly not. Instead, when we believe that we receive a prophetic message from Heaven, we need to first present it back to the Lord and ask Him for clarity on what it means.

Candice Smithyman: If you know who you are and Whose you are, you will be less likely to put your life into things that are not purposeful and Kingdom focused. The Israelites revealed this; only in their lack did they build a golden calf. Only in their insecurity of who they were as a nation, and where God was in all of this identity confusion did they make an idol and actually think it would be the one that had the power to go before them. They elevated a false image and it would go before them as their very own face or identity.

Amos 8:1 This is what the Lord GOD showed me–a basket of summer fruit.
Rabbi Dr. Eliezer Shore: In this famous letter, the Baal Shem Tov describes his encounter with the soul of the Mashiach, who gives him instructions as how to hasten his coming.
Amos 8:2 He said, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the LORD said to me, “The end has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass them by.

Israel 365 (12 July 19): ✡ The Children of Israel have returned
Amie Rogers: I have, always jokingly and somewhat seriously, referred to certain things in my life to be like the movie “Groundhog Day.” In this movie, the character is trapped in a town due to a storm, and ends up living the same day over and over. In the beginning, he is upset and frustrated by it and starts to do things to end the day early, but after a while his attitude begins to change. He embraces the routine and finds ways to settle into it. As he settles in the contentment of this routine, one night he lays his head down to sleep and wakes up to a new day…it was now the next day; with the previous day no longer on repeat.
Daniel 12: 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished.
Rabbi Chaim (ben Moshe) ibn Attar: The verse alludes to the way G-d initiates a process which culminates in the rehabilitation of Israel so that it will attain an exalted spiritual level.
Amie Rogers: I felt to share this because many of you have felt the same way. Things in your life, be it relationships, work, health, finances – all these things have seemed to be on this unbreakable cycle and constantly hitting a ceiling you thought would be shattered by now.
Amos 8:3 The songs of the temple shall become wailings in that day,” says the Lord GOD; “the dead bodies shall be many, cast out in every place. Be silent!”
Amanda Grace: From a distance you will see your enemies who came out to attempt to assassinate many parts of your lives. You shall see them flee from before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee from you seven ways, says the Lord. And not only flee, but truly be uprooted, removed, and planted and bound to another area far from My children. For the tampering is coming to a swift end, says the Lord. You will see this the remaining of the month and into the next, says the Lord. The points of access are being closed, including legal, familial, spiritual, physical, financial. They are being closed in a protective seal from Me, the Lord your God, so they cannot be reopened.
Amie Rogers: The ledger: The Lord is revealing all the wrongdoings of past generations, the ones they did and the ones done to them, in order to break off any ties the enemy has had access to.
Amos 8:4 Hear this, you that trample on the needy, and bring to ruin the poor of the land,
Rev. Ada Wong Nagata (in “Mail Call” 8 July 19): We read that the prophet Amos prophesied the truth of God, though people did not like to hear it. The false prophet tried to silence him so as to please the king in power. As Amos claims, he was not a professional prophet, but an ordinary person being called by God. He was like the plumb line for God, guiding people on the way. He knew he would face danger, but did what was right anyway. We are ordinary people, too, but also called by God through our baptism to tell God’s truth, to have compassion for people in need, and to be good neighbors. However, when we Christians are reminded to love our neighbors who look different, speak different languages, and behave differently, we may not like to hear it either. The fear of scarcity, of uncertainty, can block us from hearing our call and seeing others’ needs.
Brat: Too bad the Church can’t hear her own hypocrisy.
Archbishop of Canterbury (12 July 19): Whenever it happens, whether as a baby, child or adult, baptism is at the heart of an amazing journey of faith as a follower of Jesus Christ.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Attacks are being done at the highest level.
Joey LeTourneau: John the Baptist, who came in the spirit of Elijah, was to me a true Father in the way that he knew how to honor those new, unexpected things of God. He was someone who gave life to a new generation of God’s heart and image, who supported and empowered those who came after him.
Molly Baskette: Prayer
God, whatever I’m discerning right now, nudge me out of analysis paralysis when it comes to knowing what you want me to do, and then acting on it. You have said it’s not too hard. I’m taking you at your word. Amen.
Anna Blake (15 July 19): Faraway Friends
Simon Jacobson: As long as there is a “self” – a sense of your own being – then you are measurable and countable.
Anna Blake (15 July 19): I would show you the adolescent Canada geese
on the pond. Better behaved than we ever would
have been, they stay close, like Catholic school girls
in prim uniforms between their parents in church.
We would give them names like Cecelia and Mary
Margaret and Bridget, us standing by the donkey,
scratching his ears and thinking the other was smart
and beautiful and funny, without recognizing our
similarity. Then, I’m walking your memory back home
from the far side of one day and you’re walking mine
back from the next. So unwilling to part that we try
to make peace with the constant wanting of ordinary
time, by holding the other’s voice in our ears along
with a small ache; the price paid for the utter luxury
of a friend who shares the same moon, sunrise or
twilight, while caring for horses who will never meet.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Contradiction is one you must confront.
Amos 8:5 saying, “When will the new moon be over so that we may sell grain; and the sabbath, so that we may offer wheat for sale? We will make the ephah small and the shekel great, and practice deceit with false balances,
Rev. Ada Wong Nagata (in “Mail Call” 8 July 19): The day before Dr. King was assassinated, he gave his last speech in Memphis, Tennessee. In this address, he talked about this parable. Towards the end, he reflected on why the priest and the Levite did not stop for the traveler. He imagined that those men were simply afraid. The road from Jerusalem to Jericho was indeed dangerous. Dr. King said, “And so the first question that the priest asked, the first question that the Levite asked was, ‘If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?’ But then the Good Samaritan came by, and he reversed the question: ‘If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?’”
To the angel of Laodicea: Revelation 3: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
Jennifer A. Miskov (14 July 19): If Martin Luther King Jr. wasn’t able to let go of leading his church or his other commitments at that crucial hour, he would have never been able to lead the Civil Rights movement. In a similar way, I believe that God is shifting many of us (or our perspectives) from leading a ministry to now leading a movement.
Phiwa Langeni: When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien. …you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt. – Leviticus 19:33-34 (NRSV)
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: We wanted to give them a living, breathing, cooking, eating, meditating, painting, touring, all-encompassing experience of the Jewish soul, thereby enabling them to connect to themselves, the land of Israel, the Jewish people, our traditions and Kabbalah.
Eric Anderson: Why aren’t we dancing?
Matthew 11:17 “‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’
Amos 8:6 buying the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals, and selling the sweepings of the wheat.”
John Edgerton: If a person with gold rings and in fine clothes comes into your assembly, and if a poor person in dirty clothes also comes in, and if you take notice of the one wearing the fine clothes and say, ‘Have a seat here, please,’ while to the one who is poor you say, ‘Stand there’ or ‘Sit at my feet,’ have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? – James 2:2-4 (NRSV)
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): If God saw your heart then John 14 is possible in your life.
Lovesick Scribe (12 July 19): Prophetic indulgences are being offered to the self established hierarchy in the Charismatic church and others parts of the body. Many want a prophetic word and inadvertently offer up monetary offerings in exchange for such a word or emotional preaching that offers no conviction before God. These words exalt man and not God, but there is a deception that these words prove favor found with God. The more money given, the more blessings will abound. At least, that is the promise. Never mind that we are promised being hated for the sake of the Gospel and that we will suffer trials and tribulations, but to not fear and to trust in the Lord.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Flesh profits nothing but God uses our flesh to bring order to your life.
Cindy Jacobs (12 July 19): “Shields Up! A Spirit of Violence Has Been Loosed!”
Brat: Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.
Anna Blake (12 July 19): Bullies and naysayers, beware. Brain science has our back.
Steve Shultz: It is NOT rare for our in-boxes to be filled with prophetic warnings about what the enemy is planning against the USA and frankly, the world.
Amanda Grace: I, the Lord thy God, am dealing with the treacherous underbelly of the United States of America. And what has been closed up in the sewers, operating underground, shall be driven out into the Light, and snared, says the Lord. I am setting the traps and I have added the bait. Those who have committed treason, espionage, perversion, who have laundered in an attempt to rig, I, the Lord, with one very hard tug, am plunging them out into the open with the evidence made very clear. In some cases the evidence will be found on them, says the Lord. There are those on puppet strings in the political arena putting on a Howdy Doody type show, says the Lord, and I, the Lord, will expose who is pulling their strings. A massive scandal amongst the Democratic candidates will leave them all scrambling, back-peddling, nervously pacing, as with London Bridges, they all fall down, for they are all interconnected in one way or another, says the Lord.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Our politics will never make the transaction.
Steve Shultz: Having said that, when a well-known, high-level, mature prophet, who has made him or herself accountable to the Body of Christ, comes up with that kind of warning, it’s time to REALLY LISTEN.
Amanda Grace: As those attempted to smear the name of My beloved servant, Daniel, and destroy him of their own delusions and jealousies, those who have attempted over and over to do this to My precious children will fall in their place. The season of warning is over. They have been told to cease and desist and they have insisted, dug in their heels and doubled-down on their lies, their delusion, their fabrications, their manipulations, and I, the Lord, say, IT STOPS NOW!
Amos 8:7 The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob: Surely I will never forget any of their deeds.
Brat (13 July 19): Since God reads my mail (https://truthinus.wordpress.com/2019/07/11/mail-call-8-july-19/) I pray and ask that Daddy Warbucks will send Ascent the money that they need!

Amos 8:8 Shall not the land tremble on this account, and everyone mourn who lives in it, and all of it rise like the Nile, and be tossed about and sink again, like the Nile of Egypt?
Phiwa Langeni: Our biblical ancestors too were a people who were quite familiar with being outsiders. Even so, situations of comfort made them forget about their own hardships as aliens. When they had plenty, they guarded instead of sharing. Like them, we work hard at getting and keeping what we’ve got at any cost. Sometimes we’re so focused on doing things right that we forget to do the right thing.
Anna Blake (12 July 19): Some of us have been bullied by trainers who think horses are capable of diabolical plans to trick us into letting them win. Or by railbirds who ridicule us for ruining our horses by training “like a girl.” It can wear you down but stand tall.
Amos 8:9 On that day, says the Lord GOD, I will make the sun go down at noon, and darken the earth in broad daylight.
Brat: Holy God, You already did that when Jesus died on the cross.
Amos 8:10 I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; I will bring sackcloth on all loins, and baldness on every head; I will make it like the mourning for an only son, and the end of it like a bitter day.
Archbishop of Canterbury (12 July 19): You are never too old to take this step, and being baptised as an adult is a wonderful experience. Learn more: cofe.io/Baptism
Brat (14 July 19): Respectfully submitted: There are various kinds of baptism (Mark 1:8) https://wordpress.com/posts/truthinus.wordpress.com
Joey LeTourneau: John was called (by Jesus) the greatest man born of woman, and I believe it’s because John never made it about himself. His job wasn’t to hold the reigns or protect his position; his job was to prepare the way until the moment came that he would turn toward the new One rising, point at Him, and literally tell his own followers to follow Jesus now instead. John didn’t point to what he was doing, He pointed to what the Father was doing. That’s easier said than done, which is why it has such an opportunity to generate such life to flow into this world.
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): Fallen people wanna take credit for what God does.
Amos 8:11 The time is surely coming, says the Lord GOD, when I will send a famine on the land; not a famine of bread, or a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.
Verse of the Day (12 July 19): But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 ESV
Pastor John Tolle (14 July 19): So, what is being written in heaven, in the archives of heaven, in the Believers today? What God is writing today is equally important. Scriptures are the canon authority.
Matthew 24: 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Steve Shultz: Most of these do not get published on the Elijah List, simply because we are NOT like the secular news media with the philosophy of, “If it bleeds, it leads,” as we often see the media publishing almost-exclusively bad news.
Larry Sparks: In the vision, I simply saw the hand of the Lord reaching out to prophets and intercessors, giving them rolled-up scrolls on behalf of their cities and states. Anytime we have supernatural experiences, visions or dreams, we cannot be content with simply indulging the supernatural imagery without contending for an explanation.
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz (in “Mail Call” 8 July 19): “People, even people who claim to be religious, are trampling God’s honor,” the rabbi said.
Kris Vallotton (6 July 19): God is opposed to the proud — He resists them — but He promotes the humble. Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less. If you’re waiting to be promoted, one of the best things you can do is to choose to live humbly.
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: Rabbi Glazerson noted that according to Jewish tradition, Korach has been trapped in a subterranean prison, awaiting the Messiah when the earth will reopen to free him. But the rabbi warned that the same earthquake that will free Korach will punish those who are repeating his sin.
Brat comment on Facebook: I live in Southern California (Ventura County). I have seen that Korach is trapped in a digital subterranean “prison” over here and God is doing a “Mail Call.” It is true that those who claim to be religious are trampling God’s honor. The Holy Spirit is working overtime trying to re-instill the fear, respect, and awe of God back into the Church.
Dov Bar-Leib liked.
Amanda Grace: There have been pacts made in the shadows of California to force a very specific, damaging, ungodly ideology and it is spiritually bankrupting that state, far worse than Sodom ever was, says the Lord. The sin has been multiplied. Sin has been added to sin. I, the Lord, have rejected the current leadership as I had rejected Saul. There will be serious changes coming for California and the shaking, a massive shaking in more than one way, including what is exposed now, will undermine their false framework and ideology. Watch and see, says the Lord.
Luke 10: 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.
Anna Blake (12 July 19): There is a shift in paradigm happening in understanding and working with animals, and women are on the cutting edge. Lead with confidence because we’re right about this.
Amos 8:12 They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, but they shall not find it.
Steve Shultz: More and more prophetic voices have said that we are in a time of increased revelation with direction and insight coming from the Lord.
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak of Lubavitch: The essence of the soul hears what the rest of a person may not
Amanda Grace: There will be visitations. My holy messengers will deliver instructions from My throne to My chosen (My children) in order to truly order their steps, says the Lord. Vindication, sayeth the Spirit. Intense vindication shall arise for My children and publically the folly shall be exposed. Those who wanted to play the fool and engage in such treachery, there will be a mass exodus. Egypt is leaving My children. Those who want to tamper with the spirits the Egyptians engaged with against My people shall be separated from them by My holy fire. The fire will be so hot and INTENSE, they will not get anywhere near My children again, says the Lord.
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak of Lubavitch: This Divine Voice, which issues forth from Mount Horeb every day, urges a person to occupy himself with Torah, and is similar to other divine declarations which arouse a person to repentance. Although a person does not hear these divine announcements audibly, they nevertheless have an effect upon him.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: He was so overcome with nostalgia that he left the wagon with its costly load in the forest, and made his way to the rebbe

Mail Call 8 July 19

11 Jul

Working Dates: Monday, July 8, 2019 to Thursday, July 11, 2019
[17 pages]
Kris Vallotton (6 July 19): Hi Friend,
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): A friend doesn’t uncover a friend.
Vicki Kemper: A friend’s heart of gold has been so thoroughly shattered that she can no longer pray or sing or trust. She has turned the other cheek so often that her head spins, given every shirt off her back, and walked ten thousand extra miles. More work will not save her faith or heal her heart.
Steve Shultz: Please do NOT make the mistake of saying or thinking she is too young to “get it” as it relates to walking with the Lord.
Amos 7:7 This is what he showed me: the Lord was standing beside a wall built with a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): When God Reads Your Mail
Brat: Oooh, La, La! That’s truth.
Kris Vallotton (6 July 19): I can’t count the number of times people have talked to me about their leaders not acknowledging the destiny on their life.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): The Holy Spirit bears witness to what we read here.
Lyn Packer: We are now in an era where we are seeing the re-emergence and recognition of women and their gifts and callings, and it’s time to see the apostles amongst them recognized and released in the Church.
Danielle Dixon: I sensed those on the front lines have been experiencing unprecedented doubt and uncertainty, due to the prolonged time it has taken to see prayer answered and promises fulfilled. Many have fainted, but many are still holding on to the promises of God with little of their own strength left. As they have humbled themselves under the hand of the Lord, He is exalting them in this due time (1 Peter 5:6).
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): How do I talk honestly without uncovering my friend? Occasionally a good orator can weave through it, but the Holy Spirit moved.
Amos 7:8 And the LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “See, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass them by;
Rev. Ada Wong Nagata: We read that the prophet Amos prophesied the truth of God, though people did not like to hear it. The false prophet tried to silence him so as to please the king in power.
Israel 365 (7 July 19): ✡ Ask Rabbi Tuly: Is Israel the Apple of God’s Eye?
Amos 7:9 the high places of Isaac shall be made desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”
Moshe-Yaakov Wisnefsky: The literal meaning of the words translated as “the Israelites” (benei Yisrael) is “the children [or ‘descendants’] of Israel”, i.e. of Jacob; this refers only to the direct descendants of Jacob as opposed to Moses’ converts.
Pastor John Tolle (10 July 19): However, there’s a simple point needing to be made about the relationship between persecution, prayer and how God answered the disciples’ prayer. Here’s the prayer: “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness we [they] may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” [Acts 4:29-30]
Rick Joyner: In Isaiah 60:18, The Lord said of Jerusalem that He would call her gates praise and her walls salvation. When the exiles returned to rebuild the destroyed city, they had to build the walls with a trowel in one hand and a sword in the other. There are times when we have to build and fight at the same time. If they had not been willing to fight, they would have never finished with the building, and neither will we.
Israel 365 (10 July 19): ✡ Isaiah prophesied of a rebuilt Jerusalem – Just look around!
Kris Vallotton (6 July 19): Can you relate? Maybe you know deep down that you’re called to lead, to impact culture, to be in ministry or yes, even called to be a prophet, but still haven’t stepped into living out this calling in its fullness.
Nathan Shaw: Likewise, each ethnic race has a unique destiny. Satan hates the destinies of the human race, both individual and ethnic (see Genesis 3:15). To destroy our unique destinies satan turns us against each other. The hostilities happen not only between different races, but also within races (Galatians 5:15). It’s important to remember that there have been wars between various European nations for centuries and of course numerous civil wars within those nations.
Pastor John Tolle (10 July 19): Often, the attitude and action of the average Christian is one of weakness, or withdrawal, or intimidation, or a worse attitude of, “I could care less about the world as long as I’m going to heaven.” This might be overstated and not true of you but I hope this point isn’t lost on the millions of passive Christians.
Luke 10:30 Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead.
Kris Vallotton (6 July 19): I’m sure you feel frustrated, discouraged and even disheartened at times, knowing something to be true for your life but feeling like nobody else sees it.
Amos 7:10 Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to King Jeroboam of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the very center of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.
Eliyahu Touger: “Prophecy is bestowed only upon a very wise sage of a strong character, is physically sound, and who is never overcome by his natural inclinations in any regard. He must also possess a broad and correct perspective.”
Lillian Daniel: While I understood their position, this pastor chose prayer.
Verse of the Day (8 July 19): I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. ~ Psalm 138:2 ESV
Amos 7:11 For thus Amos has said, ‘Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel must go into exile away from his land.'”
Lyn Packer: The word “apostle” in Scripture simply means “one sent forth with orders,” “messenger” or “he that is sent” – someone sent out for a specific task that designates an assignment or function, rather than hierarchical status. In cultural understanding, in early church times, an apostle was a Roman or Greek leader who was sent on a mission by his homeland to establish and recreate the beliefs, systems and culture of his homeland in the territories they conquered. They were cultural architects and builders, strategists and often generals or senators – senior government officials.
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai: As we have mentioned in connection with the verse, “He makes Spirits His Angel-Messengers,”(Psalms 104:4) these two were angels. How then were they able to exist on the earthly plane? Rather, none of the supernal angels can exist without receiving their life-force through the supernal radiance. If this radiance is withheld from them, they cannot exist. This is all the more so true of these two whom the Holy One cast down and thereby cut off from His supernal radiance. Their own radiance changed, and when they descended, the atmosphere of This World overcame them, and they underwent a drastic change in levels.
Brat (in “Tammuz” 6 July 19): I have understood that my divine assignment is to write these scripts for the purposes of redeeming the times.
Amos 7:12 And Amaziah said to Amos, “O seer, go, flee away to the land of Judah, earn your bread there, and prophesy there;
Lillian Daniel: So we keep praying at our meals. And now we’re praying for some new donations.
Ben Armstrong: “Embrace the process and try and get all of the good things that God is trying to teach you in your present season. If you lean in, you will be a lot more mature and a greater resource to the people you are ministering to.”
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: “People, even people who claim to be religious, are trampling God’s honor,” the rabbi said.
Amos 7:13 but never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a temple of the kingdom.”
Kris Vallotton (6 July 19): Often the key for waiting for your promotion into your prophetic destiny with peace lies in being aware of your season, God’s timing for your life, the preparation He wants to cultivate in you, and then… waiting humbly for Him to promote you.
Kaji Douŝa: Maybe you’re trying to be like Jesus, which is worthy but risky. To be like Jesus, your face might be turned towards God’s future. Which automatically means that your neighbors won’t understand you. Which might mean that you will:
Burn.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): We use Him so we don’t burn in hell.
Zechariah Goldman: Behold, after a person is worthy of the secret of bonding with G-d, one may become worthy of the secret of equanimity. If a person is worthy of attaining equanimity, one may become worthy of…Divine inspiration.
Amos 7:14 Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I am no prophet, nor a prophet’s son; but I am a herdsman, and a dresser of sycamore trees,
Ben Armstrong: The truth is we never get to be a person who “arrives” in life!
Rick Joyner: Living waters come from “the innermost being.” Those in Christ have both positive and negative callings, just as Jesus did. We’re told that He went about doing good, and we’re also told that He came to “destroy the works of the devil.” Of course we would like to just do the fun part, the doing of good, but we are all called to destroy the works of the enemy. If we shy away from either of these, we will not fulfill our ultimate purpose.
Amos 7:15 and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: His family begged him not to go. “How can you risk your life like this?” they asked. He responded, “It is not clear that he will take out his wrath against me, but one thing is for sure—their lot is sealed unless I am able to do something on their behalf.”
Lyn Packer: Apostles had varying amounts of geographical influence and authority. Not all apostles traveled great distances, and not all were known worldwide. Some had a very limited metrons (or assigned spheres of influence), given by God. So it is today. Being in the position of an apostle does not automatically give a person the right to speak into any situation anywhere; they must, as Jesus did, grow in favor with God and man. Favor and influence everywhere is not automatically guaranteed.
Dr. Yisroel Susskind: “If you come again on behalf of your Jews, I will kill you!”
Pastor John Tolle (30 June 19): Healing disturbs the religious PC police. The disciples’ witnessing incarcerated them. Don’t worry, I’ll come and post bail for you. The gospel confronts hell.
Brat (in “Hoover” 29 June 19): You’ll post bail for me, huh? You’re my warden. Why would you do that? I’m not aware that you’ve ever posted bail for me before. I pray for your salvation, for you and your whole household, and for divine intervention.
John Edgerton: How many times will I need her to forgive me in my life? As many as seven times? Seventy-seven times will just make a beginning.
Rick Joyner (9 July 19): I began my study in order to see the work of The Lord in the founding, building, and vision of our nation. It was not hard to find. When I saw it, I then sought The Lord’s favor to confirm the work that we are called to do to see our national destiny fulfilled. As we are told in Proverbs 4:18, “The path of the righteous (or the right path) is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.” The path I walked seeking to find and understand our divine purpose as a nation was like this. It began with a few lights that got brighter as I proceeded. You may not have the time I had to do this research, but if you do what you can and ask The Lord to be your Guide, He will. The payoff is to be able to move with clarity and boldness to fulfill our own purpose in this.
Brat (8 July 19): This is no longer about forgiveness. It’s about doing the right thing. Jesus said I cannot promote myself.
Mark 15: 28 So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with the transgressors.”
Pastor Dan Gallagher: The biblical way to reach reconciliation is a mixture of forgiveness, responsibility, repentance, accountability, boundaries and healing. It looks like this:
Forgiveness+Responsibility+Repentance+Accountability+Healing+Boundaries=Reconciliation
(Sorry for the Math)
Vicki Kemper: Only grace can do that. Grace + love + time. Grace that takes the hands of those worn down by works and holds faith for wounded souls.
Pastor Steve Dittmar: The police officer politely but firmly asked me to step out of my car. It was late at night in 1977 and I was “driving under the influence” again. But this time, it wasn’t illegal stuff, just overdoses of the Holy Ghost! Singing songs to Jesus while driving home in my 1961 VW, I must have become a bit “tipsy” in Him, but I was sober. The officer wasn’t sure of my explanation when I said I was only being carried away with joy and praise to Jesus; he needed to see for himself. So out of the car I stepped as he checked my eyes and so forth. Finally, he warned me to be more attentive and drive safely, and down the road I went, resuming my songs with gusto. Wow, I had been pulled over before, but never for this.
Charisma (8 July 19): Can a Christian Still Stumble and Sin?
Brat: I feel like I’m being stonewalled!
James 4: 17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Pastor John Tolle (10 July 19): The needs in our world today are so great and the cultural distaste for Christianity so prevalent, it’s time to take on the boldness that those 1st Century Christians exhibited. It’s time to pray fervently and passionately! Just check out James 5:16b.
Moshe-Yaakov Wisnefsky: Once an ox gores other animals three times unprovoked, it is legally classified as a “goring ox” and its owner becomes liable for full damages it causes instead of just half. (Ex. 21:35-36)
Brat: We’ve been through this a time, times, and half a time. And y’all have borne witness to this, thank God!!
Revelation 12:14 But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.
Rick Joyner: In the dream about the second American Revolutionary/Civil War, I saw that different people were called to go after different strongholds. They received their call by teeing off on a golf course. The thing that “tees you off” the most is a way you will know what you have been called to fight. If there is a deep anger, a provoking of your spirit about a specific evil, then consider this a call of God. It is time to get to your post and do something about it.
Brat: Like writing isn’t doing something? I write and get no responses when I share. That’s not courteous. There’s not even an attempt at a reciprocal relationship. The divine flow starts with God, goes to the people, and is supposed to return. The Word is not supposed to return void. There has to be accountability. If there are repeat offenders, the Church is supposed to call them out. Forgiveness does not mean reconciliation.
John Belt: There are two sides to this coin. One side is about our intake of the knowledge of God. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Proverbs 23:7; Matthew 12:34). The other side of this coin is about the relationship. This is our communion with God through the Holy Spirit.
Danielle Dixon: God’s first responders are being released throughout the earth to minister to the saints of God. They are carrying the message that your prayers have been heard, your petitions, supplications, and intercessions have come before the throne. Your answers are on their way. There have been delays and setbacks, but you are going to start to see some things breaking through in the last part of this year. Even things you have given up on ever seeing come to pass. All you Believers who are battle-weary, you will experience the strength of the Lord afresh.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: In the aftermath of World War II, Rabbi Eliezer Zusia Portugal, the Skulener Rebbe, saved thousands of war refugees and orphans.
Lyn Packer: The Church is built on the foundation of apostles and prophets; sent ones and proclaimers of God’s heart. In Eph. 2:19-22 it tells us, “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the Cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.”
Revelation 21: 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
Breaking Israel News: $700 Quintillion Gold Asteroid to be Mined by NASA Paving the Way for Messiah to Arrive
Rene Springer: Beloved Church, we must present our hands and pray for them to be diligent and set apart for His works. We must present our hearts and pray for the passion of Christ to consume us in order for our hearts to be given purely to His plans. In this final crescendo, it is time for the world to see the risen Christ in the radiant Bride of Christ!
Rick Joyner: As we read in Ecclesiastes 3, there is a time for everything—a time for peace and a time for war. It is time for war. How could it ever not be when we are told that “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (I John 5:19). Yet, God’s army, one of the major characteristics of the body of Christ that we are called to be, is hardly reflected anywhere in the body. This is about to change. There will be a military organization and demeanor coming to the advancing church.
Psalm 82:4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): The best place to be is with people who know you, who know all your faults.
Brat: And use it against you? I’m sorry, but that’s my knowledge and experience base. My experience with Jesus was completely different than what I experienced with the religious.
Rabbi Dr. Eliezer Shore: I heard in the name of the Baal Shem Tov the intention of Onkelos here. The Midrash asks why G·d chose to rest His Presence on such a wicked gentile as Balaam? And it answers, so that the gentile nations will not have any allegation [against G·d] saying, “Had you given us prophets, we too would have improved our ways.”
Psalm 82:5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk around in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: Therefore shall heaven be shaken, And earth leap out of its place, At the fury of the lord of Hosts On the day of His burning wrath.” Isaiah 13:13 (The Israel Bible™)
Kaji Douŝa: But before you get there, you would do well to know the difference between being consumed and being afire.
Burn.
Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: Two major earthquakes in Southern California leading many, including experts, to ask, ‘When will the big one hit?.’ Several end-of-days experts weigh in, suggesting that ‘when’ may be the wrong question.
David Sidman (in “Tammuz” 6 July 19): So as Americans celebrate the Fourth of July, and Israeli Jews celebrate the beginning of the month of Tammuz, it may be wise to avoid crocodile tears, especially when watching ‘performances’…Whichever they may be.
Daniel 2:35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, all together were broken in pieces, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
To the angel in Pergamum: Revelation 2: 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.’
Lyn Packer: This passage is about the first apostles and prophets being the people who were the foundation of the Church. The Church was built on the revelation given to the apostles and prophets: Christ in all, and filling all, with Him being the Cornerstone – the stone from which all other living stones take their alignment and find their place.
Nathan Shaw: Sons and daughters of courage will arise—both Māori and European. Their voices will penetrate the cloud of confusion and misunderstanding that has blinded people’s minds. They will walk in humility and tenderness but will uncompromisingly represent the heart of God for New Zealand and the nations. The Father has issued a decree from Heaven, “Enough!” It is time. What the enemy has meant for evil, God is turning for good. The river of tears will be turned into a flood of unprecedented glory.
Amos 7:16 “Now therefore hear the word of the LORD. You say, ‘Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not preach against the house of Isaac.”
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): They were asking my permission to divorce their wife. You’d think I was god.
Avraham Sutton: Once they descended, the Evil Inclination entered them and overcame them as well, as it is written, “They took [any of, many of] them as wives for themselves from whomever they chose.” (Gen. 6:2) As a result of their sin [of being arrogant, presumptuous], they were removed and banished from their former holiness. (Zohar Bereishit I:37a)
Rick Joyner: My default spiritual weapon is to write or speak about a timely truth I’ve been given. When I had this dream about the second coming American Revolutionary/Civil War, I immediately inquired of The Lord about what I could write or teach that would help us to get ready. He said that I had already done this. I immediately knew why I was so compelled to write the Army of the Dawn books, and I was told to put everything else I was working on aside until they were finished. These books are the result of the many years I spent studying military history, and they contain the practical aspects of what it will take for the church to become the army we are called to be.
Ben Armstrong: …Realize that if it’s taking longer than you expect to fulfill your destiny, it may be because there is a greater gift that God wants to instill in your life and He is making sure that you will be able to sustain it.”
Ascent of Safed: (Those of you in ISRAEL should click to BALAK for articles on the Weekly Reading there.)
Shira Schechter: If God told Balaam he could go with the messengers, why do you think he sends an angel to stop him on the way?
To the angel of Pergamum: Revelation 2: 14 But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality.
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai: Rabbi Shimon said: How many times have I repeated, and no one pays attention! The Holy One does not allow His Presence to rest except in a place of holiness that is befitting. The Holy One therefore repeatedly warns, “Let there not be found among you anyone who passes his son or daughter through fire, who practices stick divination, who divines auspicious times, who divines by omens, who practices witchcraft, who uses incantations, who consults mediums and oracles, or who attempts to communicate with the dead.” (Deut. 18:10-11) On the contrary, fortunate is the nation of Israel who have been made holy in order that He allow His Presence to dwell among them, as it is written, “G d makes His Presence known in your camp… Let your camp therefore be holy.” (ibid. 23:15)
Shmuel-Simcha Treister: If The Shoe Fits
Mark 11:26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:35 pm Journal: Parked at Pleasant Valley Park. After church I curled up in the backseat and slept exhausted for an hour. I wasn’t tired from losing an hour of sleep in the time change. There was plenty of Arc Speak in the sermon and selection of worship songs to show me that Pastor John had read “Avocado” (that I had not sent him.) And then he closes the service by saying, “Somebody needs to pray to be healed of their hypocrisy”? If the shoe fits, Cinderella.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): We use Him as a cosmic eraser of our sin.
Lauren Tharp (10 July 19): If the Shoe Doesn’t Fit…
Wanda Alger: I believe the Lord is inviting us to pray for the lost, as well as pray for those who carry this evangelistic mandate. As five-fold ministers, they are called of the Lord to impart this same grace upon Believers to carry the Father’s heart and compassion for those who may be storing up worldly treasures but are losing their souls. The harvest is ripe and workers are needed. Just as many are being called up to duty as evangelists, so are the watchmen who are needed to stand in the gap and pray for this great commission to be fulfilled.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): We are not better than those who do not know Jesus.
Shmuel-Simcha Treister: Our own personas embody the spiritual map of Creation.
Ben Armstrong: “I have been learning that God is in love with process! He is not in a panic and He is not trying to get people to their future too fast without actually allowing them to go through the process that helps them gain strength and momentum. Process gives us the things that are needed to sustain the greatness that God wants in our life.
Pastor Dan Gallagher: As much as I’d like to say this is a linear process where you start with one thing and move through a certain order to reach the end, it is not. Instead, it is often a long process of revisiting these things many times over. But, if done well, it builds up a healthy community.
Steven Springer: A youth revolt will turn to revival if we will humble ourselves and pray and put feet to our prayers. It will be a modern-day God’s army. The ones in this army will be voices of fire that arise from the wilderness, moving in the power of the Spirit!
Steve Shultz: And frankly I’m weary and sick and tired of them being “dissed” for being millennials or close to millennials.
Lillian Daniel: To be clear, I am a firm supporter of the separation of church and state. I do not expect to pray in a public school. I do not expect the federal government to fund my church. But I also do not expect them to tell me, as a pastor, that I cannot say a blessing over a community meal prepared by congregants in a building owned by a church.
Psalm 82:3 Give justice to the weak and the orphan; maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): I have faked you out for a long time!
Ascent of Safed: The 5th of Tammuz is the date the prophet Ezekiel had his famous prophetic vision of the “Divine Chariot,” which we read as the Haftorah portion on Shavuot and upon which certain areas of study in Kabbalah are based—
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): You think you’re better than your spouse?
Amos 7:17 Therefore thus says the LORD: ‘Your wife shall become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be parceled out by line; you yourself shall die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely go into exile away from its land.'”
Pam Tillis: “Let That Pony Run” [https://youtu.be/Vth4pHYHGwM]
Nathan Shaw: He cares about the lives and the destinies that He has created. The pain of the Māori women moved the heart of God. God visited Māori and began to heal their wounds. Satan worked overtime to blind Europeans to the magnitude of that which God was doing. Christianity was mixed with a European worldview way of life and thinking. God’s intention was always to encounter Māori within the context of their own culture. For the most part, Māori abandoned inter-tribal warfare, but many were drawn into warfare with Europeans because of the confiscation of their lands. The tears of the Māori women continued to come up before God. Satan greatly fears the unity of Māori and Europeans.
Rene Springer: Warrior Bride, while we do not ignore the battle we are in, we must allow the passion of Christ to now be the joy set before us as we focus on His face and endure the pain of birthing this movement. You have been called forth for such a time as this!
Luke 10:25 Just then a lawyer stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he said, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): What you say must match what you say, do, and think. The heart deceives people into being godly when they aren’t.
Acts 5:9 But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
Shmuel-Simcha Treister: If our ancestors sealed a contract by giving the shoe from one’s foot, and they accepted this as a Torah law, how could later generations abolish it?
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): This occasion was heavy discipline to awaken the church in Jerusalem.
Shira Schechter: What do you think Balaam hopes to accomplish with his repeated attempts given that God already told him he would not be able to curse the Israelites?
Luke 10:29 But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): They concocted what they’d say and do.
Brat: And how many times did Jesus say, “Hear what the Spirit says to the Churches?”
Danielle Dixon: I was shocked at the unseen war that was taking place over the earth and in awe. This angelic host never let go of the royal, white envelopes. They had a look of determination to get through these enemy lines at all costs. I asked what were the colorful laser lights I was seeing throughout the battle. The Lord said, “Every time My people stood on the promises I gave them and declared prophetic words over their situations, light was released from Heaven into the battle. This was weakening the enemy lines.”
Luke 10:30 Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: When the colonel saw who stood at his doorstep, he was overcome with anger. He grabbed the rebbe and threw him down the stairs. The Skulener was hurt badly, yet with extreme difficulty he was able to get up. With the little strength he had left, he once again climbed the stairs and knocked on the colonel’s door.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): They paid with their lives!
Sophia Buller (9 July 19): The wall of Jericho has fallen with praise and Thanksgiving!!! I felt led to share this!
Luke 10:31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): When Jesus was mistreated there was no deceit found in His lips.
Luke 10:32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
Lubavitcher Rebbe: Not too hot, not too cold – we should serve G-d just right
Luke 10:19 See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you.
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter (in “Tammuz” 6 July 19): In the matter of the snakes, Moses prayed: “for the sake of the people”. Not only did Moses pray for their lives (that the punishment of the snakes cease), he prayed for their sake, for the people. This is a demonstration of Moses’ complete love of the Jewish people. Their malevolence had no effect on Moses. He continued to love his people in the same measure as before. He achieved the third and highest level of forgiveness. Even more, Moses’ manner of forgiving was not “cruel”, as Rashi writes, “don’t be cruel, and forgive” – don’t forgive in a cruel way. He was not satisfied with just preventing fatalities, he also completely loved and wished well for those same people who rose up against him.
Rev. Ada Wong Nagata: The day before Dr.
Lillian Daniel: We Choose Prayer
Lubavitcher Rebbe: The poison of a snake tends to cause high fever, while the poison of a scorpion causes a person’s temperature to drop so that he feels very cold.
To the angel of Laodicea: Revelation 3: 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
Sophia text message (8 July 19): I had a really weird dream last night. The dream was symbolic of how many people in the church system just take man’s word without seeking the scriptures. In my dream I was in a Catholic Church and there was some weird doctrine about the pope saving them and having to go through the pope to get to Jesus. There was a line I remember: “If it sounds good, why question it?” Kathryn, it was so odd. In my dream I felt so uneasy. It was like I was there to observe. People blindly followed. I remember feeling uneasy and that their claims didn’t match scripture. There was a friendly lady who asked me to pray for her. I believe there are many sheep God IS going to snatch out of the enemy’s hand because their hearts seek Him and I believe that lady is one of them. God told me He’s dealing with Sardis and Laodicea (however it’s spelled) and I think this is confirmation.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: There was only one avenue left to be employed: he would go to the colonel and beg, regardless of the imminent personal danger involved. Jewish lives were at stake, and that was more important than his own life.
Lillian Daniel: Prayer
For what we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly thankful. Amen.
To the angel of Laodicea: Revelation 3: 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
Psalm 82:1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): We’re a small group but part of the universal body of Christ.
Psalm 82:2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): You’d think I was God.
Psalm 82:6 I say, “You are gods, children of the Most High, all of you;
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): The Holy Spirit bears witness that we are children of God.
Psalm 82:7 nevertheless, you shall die like mortals, and fall like any prince.”
Kaji Douŝa: God has a witness for you to offer that might singe the folks around you.

Burn anyway.
To the angel of Sardis: Revelation 3: 5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
Sophia Buller (9 July 19): I had a dream last night where God restored EVERYTHING to the point where no one could tell what I had been through. I saw overflow in my dream. It was a peaceful dream.
Rene Springer: There is a spirit of slumber that wages war against the intensity required to birth this massive movement. The same demonic spirit which dulled the disciples in the garden of Gethsemane into slumber is at work today. Beloved Bride of Christ, when we start to go to deep and intense places of sanctification and prayer, tiredness and sleepiness will try to take you over. You may physically feel drained and tired, and in that moment you need to call it out, take authority over it, posture yourself to receive more grace, pray in the Spirit, and physically get up and move around while you pray. Speak over yourself, “Awake!” and then cry out for a great awakening in America.
Psalm 82:8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth; for all the nations belong to you!
Danielle Dixon: The Lord asked me to encourage His prayer soldiers. He said, “Tell them I heard My servants on the first day they turned their faces toward Me. The enemy has tried to delay the fulfillment of God’s plans throughout the earth.” I then heard these words resounding over this colorful war taking place: “Enough is enough!”
Sylvia Neusch: “I Am Dismantling in Order to Re-mantle”
Luke 10:33 But a Samaritan while traveling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity.
Nathan Shaw: God has an agenda. The wounds between Māori and Māori will be healed. The wounds between Māori and Europeans will be healed. The tears of the Māori women are precious to God. These tears were shed because life, destiny and identity were lost and destroyed. The story has not ended. The tears will give birth to the very things that were taken—life, destiny and identity. A new sound will be heard in Aotearoa, New Zealand—a prophetic sound that will also stir and awaken indigenous people from other nations.
Rene Springer: The enemy is fearful of this massive movement and has unleashed a murderous spirit to try to take out the baby/vision, but the sound of worship and the prayers of the saints are putting shields up. As we contend for the heartbeat of Heaven to come forth, the shields of God’s wrap-around presence are protecting the baby in the womb. Like a mother giving birth, it is critical to keep calling forth revival, awakening, and reformation until it is here in its FULLNESS.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): Their church grew because they felt the fear of God.
Steven Springer: The revelation of 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 will be understood by the majority of Believers in Christ, not just the leaders and intercessors! God’s desire is heal the land.
Pastor John Tolle (10 July 19): The Christians in Acts 4 cried out to God in the midst of persecution and they asked for boldness in their witness; they pleaded for God’s hand to be stretched forth in healing; and they prayed for God to perform signs and wonders. They were not just “open” to signs and wonders. They were desperate for them. They prayed for them to reality! How desperate are we?
Verse of the Day (11 July 19): ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. ~ Jeremiah 32:17 NKJV
Vicki Kemper: “What good is it if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? … For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.” – James 2:14, 26 (NRSV)
Moshe-Yaakov Wisnefsky: In discussing under what dangerous circumstances a person may interrupt his prayers in order to flee for safety, the Sages said that “If an ox’s head is in a [fodder] basket, go up to a roof and kick the ladder away from underneath you,” i.e. get as far away as possible, for the ox will not take kindly to anyone it perceives as interrupting it from its meal. “Samuel said: ‘This applies only to a black ox in the month of Nisan, because then the Satan is dancing between his horns.'” Rashi says on this: “Because the days of autumn have passed, when the land is dry, and the ox now sees it full of greenery, it gets high-spirited and the evil inclination enters it.” No longer having to worry about food, the ox becomes mischievous, so it is better to stay away from it.
Luke 10:34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Avraham Sutton: “The donkey saw G d’s angel.” (Num. 22:23)
Steven Springer: In a vision I saw a fire-breathing dragon that was releasing hate and death. ISIS, the media, and a young socialist-agenda generation are being steered by this dragon. We need to muzzle the beast through intercession so that justice and righteous can be established!
Lauren Tharp: As followers of Christ, God has hand picked us to be stars in His show! He wants to expand our audience; He is giving us a new mantel and a new stage and He will teach us how to perform on it with fresh creativity and excellence. We may still be wearing our old garments, our smaller garments, because that’s what always used to fit us before—what we think should fit with ease but doesn’t anymore. It worked for us then but now it doesn’t. It’s time to put on your new garment! It’s time to dream BIGGER with Him.
Revelation 12:4 His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it.
Pastor John Tolle (10 July 19): Now when you read tonight’s Scripture, you’ll understand that prayer preceded the marvelous works of God.
Rev. Ada Wong Nagata: What Will Happen To Him?
John Belt: We see in the beginning that God created man in His own image and likeness. Before the fall of man, Adam and Eve reflected that image of God in fullness. They walked in the presence of God, not having a “self-awareness” in the sense of having to fix themselves (Genesis 3:8). The glory of God surrounded them in the Garden of Eden, which literally means “the garden of pleasures.” After the fall, although physically they still had an essence of God’s image, it was now distorted by sin as they now fell short of “His glory.”
Avraham Sutton: But when He finally did create Adam, Adam sinned and was expelled from His Presence. Aza and Azael spoke up before the Holy One: “Our original claim has been justified. Behold, the Man that You made has sinned before You.” He replied to them: “Do you think you could have done better in his situation?” What did the Holy One do? He cast them down from their level of holiness.
Casting Crowns: “East To West” [https://youtu.be/WyoVJfADlwo]
Revelation 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain.
Avraham Sutton: Now, with regard to these two angels, what did the Holy One do? He saw that they were leading people astray. He bound them with metal chains in the mountains of darkness…. People who found out where they were would go to them, and they would teach these people the occult arts. The Torah calls these mountains of darkness “Harerei Kedem” [“Ancient Mountains of the East”, based on the double meaning of “Kedem”, meaning “east” and “ancient”], as the verse states, “Balak, king of Moab, has brought me from Aram, from the Ancient Mountains of the East, [telling me] to come curse Jacob and conjure divine wrath against Israel.” (Num. 23:7)
Pastor Dan Gallagher: Doctors Cloud and Townsend wrote a book called Boundaries, and in it they define boundaries as “A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible. In other words, boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Physical boundaries help us determine who may touch us and under what circumstances. Mental boundaries give us the freedom to have our own thoughts and opinions. Emotional boundaries help us deal with our own emotions and disengage from the harmful, manipulative emotions of others. Spiritual boundaries help us to distinguish God’s will from our own and give us renewed awe for our Creator.” Every relationship has boundaries; not every relationship knows what those boundaries are or how to understand them. We usually only know a boundary exists when it is crossed. It’s essential to use boundaries and name them when it comes to the areas of forgiveness and reconciliation.
Danielle Dixon: This is a time the people of God will find favor in the sight of God. They will have peace and be strengthened even during the remaining battle. There is about to be truth, released from Heaven, in areas where we have not had clear insight previously. Truth is coming to those who have stood through the battle. The angelic hosts are waging warfare on your behalf. Be strong, are you ready to receive your envelope?
Luke 10:35 The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him; and when I come back, I will repay you whatever more you spend.’
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): No one can serve two masters. You can’t serve God and money.
Lillian Daniel: If this were just about economics, the decision would be clear. But we believe that when you feed the hungry, you feed the soul. Asking us to serve our meal without a prayer feels as ridiculous as asking us to serve soup without a spoon.
Moshe-Yaakov Wisnefsky: “[And Moab said to the elders of Midian, ‘Now this assembly will eat up everything around us] as the ox eats up the greens of the field.'” (Num. 22:4)
Shira Schechter: Until Phineas acts, the Torah does not mention a plague going on. Why do you think that is?
Sylvia Neusch: Using Discomfort to Shift Directions
To the angel of Laodicea: Revelation 3: 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: The colonel opened the door and could not believe his eyes. There stood the Skulener Rebbe, dirty, bloodied, clothes torn—but with defiance in his eyes. “I must speak to you, Colonel!” the Skulener said, with tears streaming down his face. The colonel listened; the Rebbe begged, he cried, as he depicted the bitter plight of this hapless family. The colonel’s hardened heart could not ignore the selfless pleas, the heartfelt emotion of the Skulener Rebbe. His devotion to others at the expense of his own wellbeing finally overcame the colonel’s resistance. The family was freed.
Luke 10:36 Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”
Rev. Ada Wong Nagata: The Taoist monks did not think about what would happen to them and their sacred place if they let these Christians use their temple, but were instead concerned what would happen to the young people if they did not receive guidance. These two different religious groups were not concerned about their religious boundaries, but rather the need to help young people.
Steve Shultz: I love, love, LOVE this new generation coming up.
Pastor Dan Gallagher: The community of God should call those who offend, and those who are offended, to strive for these six values. A church should always tend to these six areas whenever conflict arises and people are hurt. There is no shortcut to reconciliation; no matter how anxious conflict makes us feel, it is sometimes a long road to reconciliation. With truth to name a situation and hold people accountable, and grace to give people a chance to change and heal, a church can be a place where true peacemaking reigns. We shouldn’t be a place that sweeps things under the rug in order to keep the peace. We shouldn’t be a place that turns a blind eye to those who are hurting. We shouldn’t be a place that is ineffective in calling people to be new creations. We should be a place that holds people to a high standard of loving one another as God has loved us while also journeying alongside them as they attempt to live up to that high standard. To not call people to that high standard would be to neglect bringing God’s will on Earth, and indeed, it would fail to reflect what God has done for us.
Vicki Kemper: I am less concerned about faith dying for lack of works than with faith being critically wounded, left crawling across the floor and gasping for breath because of works. Because there’s only so much we can do. Because sometimes our works don’t work.
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): If we lie then who can believe in Jesus Christ?
Luke 10:37 He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
Pastor John Tolle (7 July 19): The heart deceives people into being godly when they aren’t.
