Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles (25 Nov 18): A TALE OF TWO STORIES
Charles Dickens: A Tale of Two Cities (1859)
Rick Joyner: Now most “partnerships” offered to me by Christian ministries have been the same kind of one way street, being almost entirely about what we can do for them with little or nothing offered concerning that they can do for us. I just take this as an indication that we all have some maturing to do before a true joining is possible. However, as the times progress such unions will not only be possible, they will be essential for any of us to accomplish our full purpose.
Rabbi Tuly Weisz: Kathryn – Act Now to Receive God’s Blessing
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Yud-Tes Kislev, the “Rosh HaShanah of the Chassidic year,” falls this year on Mon. nite – Tues., Nov. 26-27. It is the yartzeit of Rabbi DovBer (c.1700-1772), the “Maggid” of Mezritch, successor to the Baal Shem Tov (1698-1760), founder of the Chassidic movement; the anniversary of the miraculous release of the founder of the Chabad dynasty, Rabbi Shneur Zalman (1745-1812), from Russian prison in 1798 on charges of treason; and the publication date in 1796 of his famous book of Chassidism (and Kabbalah, psychology and ethics): Tanya.
Luke 1: 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
Brat (in “Tunnel Vision” 21 Nov 18): …In that passage she also talks about how Mary starts her diary in plain writing, not in cipher –
I couldn’t help but stop and reflect on the life of my own journals. I didn’t create some cipher, or code, or writing backwards with the help of a mirror. I’m not smart enough for that ‘invention of wings’ (to borrow a book title by Sue Monk Kidd), but for several years I’ve had to often keep my private journals separate from the ones I’ve typed up, although it is still my prayer that those handwritten journals will one day be safe to include in the whole story. I don’t live in 1747 during the Jacobite Rebellion, but the danger is still nonetheless real.
Rick Joyner: Many evangelical Christians are pro-Israel for biblical reasons, and they also love the Messianic movements. I expect to see all Christians moving in the present purposes of God do this before the end of this age because it is so essential to understanding our own place in these times. However, it is much rarer to find Messianic believers who know, love, and teach God’s place for the church. In fact, there seems to be as high a percentage of Messianic believers who are anti-church as there are Christians who are anti-Jewish (and there are many of these). There are reasons for this on both sides, but they are not good reasons, and both sides must overcome them.
Jeremiah 33: 7 I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. 8 I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against Me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against Me.
Jennifer Brownell: Now, as then, these things do not make desperate times less desperate, but they do shine a light so we can see a path through them.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: The three events are not unconnected, as we shall see by examining two interesting episodes in the history of the Chassidic movement.
Faith Marie Baczko: “Occupy the Revelation God Has Given You!”
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Try to help a fellow Jew.
Faith Marie Baczko: He’s saying: “Decide! Tell Me what is your heart’s desire! Move out within the parameters of your life based on what I have given you in vision. You have the mind of Christ. Decide, declare it and it will be established, and light will shine on the course you have taken!”
Elijah List (25 Nov 18): Have you been asking for more of God?
Breaking Israel News (26 Nov 18): Genetic Study Supports Ark Story but Religious Scientists say ‘Who Cares?’ and Today’s Top Stories
Jeremiah 12:11 It will be made a wasteland,
parched and desolate before me;
the whole land will be laid waste
because there is no one who cares.
Pastor John Tolle: The phrase “Intelligent Design” was created for scientists so that they would not have to use the word GOD. But, per the rules of scientific theory, it has to be replicated. However, no man can create this planet again! God did and He sustains it!
Jeremiah 33:14 The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
Rick Joyner: Just as many Christians wrongly apply some of the promises made to natural Israel to the church—a foundation for what is called “Replacement Theology”—many Jewish believers (and many Christians) wrongly apply promises or prophecies concerning the New Jerusalem to the old. I call this “Replacement, Replacement Theology,” as they replace many of the church’s purpose with natural Israel. Being able to distinguish these is crucial for understanding the end of this age and the age to come.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: One day during Rabbi Shneur Zalman’s imprisonment, he was “visited” by the Baal Shem Tov and the Maggid. He asked them for the spiritual explanation of his arrest. They explained that a serious accusation had been brought against him in Heaven for revealing secrets of Torah, intens¬ified by the publication of the Tanya. When he then queried if that meant he should cease, they responded that at this point not only must he not stop, he should continue with increased effort.
Pastor John Tolle: I am indebted to God. I have not earned Him, but I have worked harder than most.
John Belt: Communion with the Spirit is essential for us to live in freedom apart from the curse because we cannot please God in our own self-effort or works. Rather, the work of Christ is sufficient, removing the curse from our lives and ushering in the blessing of Abraham into our lives. That is the blessing of one who lives by faith through dependency upon the Holy Spirit instead of works by following a list.
Rick Joyner (in “Fall of the City of Knowledge” 22 Nov 18): The New Covenant does not negate any of His former promises to Israel or the Jews according to the flesh, but it does expand some of them to those who are “Jews according to the Spirit.” There are some that are unique to each seed, the natural and the spiritual. Understanding the right distinctions can help us avoid many of the errors that only cloud our understanding of the times. This has caused some to be arrogant toward those who are also the seed of Abraham, which is warned about very seriously in the Bible. For this reason, we will dig deeper into this in the remaining weeks before the end of this year.
Brat (in “Tunnel Vision” 21 Nov 18): It is so not like me to send “cookie batter” in the mail, the whole glob, without “baking” it first.
Jennifer Brownell: Recipe for Desperate Times
John Belt: What does that mean? When someone gives you an agreement for ownership of anything, you sign the dotted line to take ownership of whatever that may be. In the same way God gives us promises. He says, “Sign the dotted line to make it yours—to make it your own personal possession.” The substance and the evidence is the signed contract between you and God on His promises.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: This is an amazing story. However, some students of Chassidic annals find a contradiction between this story and another episode that took place a generation previously, when Rabbi Shneur Zalman was a young disciple in the court of the Maggid.
Jennifer Brownell: The king commanded all the people, “Keep the passover to the Lord your God as prescribed in this book of the covenant.” No such passover had been kept since the days of the judges who judged Israel, even during all the days of the kings of Israel and of the kings of Judah; but in the eighteenth year of King Josiah this passover was kept to the Lord in Jerusalem. – 2 Kings 23:21-23
Israel 365: God’s Agents ✡ “They Brought The Building To Completion
Faith Marie Baczko: The Lord showed me that the mind of the Body of Christ is the wineskin that must now become new to contain His new wine. We sometimes associate the new wineskin with a new Church structure or new model, however new models and structures having the capacity to contain God’s new dynamic, comes first with the renewing of the mind. This is a supernatural reformation infusing us with the ability to receive and process the new wine. Transformation can then take place as a natural progression of the outpouring of new wine—an outpouring carrying the vision and DNA for the new season, containing fresh revelations of the majesty of the exalted Christ.
Patheos – Fr. Dwight Longenecker: Does DNA Prove Noah’s Ark?
Brat: Maybe Darwin had a point?
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: What does it mean to push away a thought with two hands?
Faith Marie Baczko: “It is imperative that we overcome the darkness and the flesh, and begin to occupy the revelations God has given us, and occupy and live in His Word by camping out on it until we fully believe it and it become woven into our DNA!”
Ben Lim (7 Nov 18): Breaking the Cycles Through Submission
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Start on your resolution.
Shira Schechter (25 Nov 18): This week’s Portion is: Vayeishev, Genesis 37:1-40:23
Brat (26 Nov 18): Gee, this is not surprising at all that this is the portion for this week. Pastor John Tolle used the story of Tamar and Judah (Genesis 38) as an example of grace in his sermon yesterday. After all, she did “only” prostitute herself once, he said. (Hmmm…Boys will be boys…?) And the next chapter is about Joseph and the seduction he experienced by Potiphar’s wife.
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson (in “The Stubborn Note” via Ascent of Safed, 27 Nov 18): After all, what was at stake if Joseph succumbed to this woman’s demands? Nobody was ever likely to find out what had occurred between the two. Joseph would not need to return home in the evening to face a dedicated spouse or a spiritual father, nor would he have to go back to a family or a community of moral standing. His family’s reputation would not be besmirched as a result of this act. He would remain alone after the event, just as he was alone before it. So what’s the big deal to engage in a snapshot relationship?
Jennifer Brownell: We gathered out of desperation, because we did not know what else to do. The news was bad, and getting worse. We could not see a way forward. The damage we had kept locked inside for so many years had come seeping out in ways that felt dangerous, debilitating.
Pastor John Tolle (25 Nov 18): Why is that [story of Judah and Tamar] in the Bible?
Shira Schechter (25 Nov 18): Why do you think the union of Tamar and Judah is worthy of producing King David and ultimately the Messiah?
Pastor John Tolle: It shows how punishing, vindictive, hypocritical, and self-righteous people can be who have the hand of God on their life.
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: In this story of Joseph, then, we are given a timeless lesson of how to deal with our own ugly lusts and inclinations. Your demons are smarter than you think they are; do not try to strike deals with them. Just say: No! No! No! People will accuse you of being ignorant and stupid. So what? You will come out with a happy marriage and a meaningful life.
Faith Marie Baczko: Our soul is comprised of mind, will and emotion and is easily impacted by the trials and circumstances of life if not fiercely guarded and protected by faith in Christ—the Divine Shield that protects from all the elements of life. If the mind is not guarded it will easily be infiltrated by fear, doubt and unbelief. These are the fruits of an orphan spirit. The thief will always attempt to steal the revelation and push us off the ground God intends for us to occupy.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Rabbi Pincus of Koritz, a distinguished disciple of the Baal Shem Tov and a spiritual giant in his own right, objected to the Maggid’s public expositions of the “inner dimensions”. Once, when he visited him, he found a page containing notes on a Chassidic discourse of the Maggid’s lying on the ground. He was incensed. His ire aroused a heavenly accusation against the Maggid which was only neutralized when Rabbi Shneur Zalman appeased Rabbi Pincus with his now-famous parable.

Jennifer Eivaz: “Discern the World Around You and See Rapid Results in Prayer!”
Genesis 38: 9 But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother.
Pastor John Tolle: Why is that even in the Bible?
John Belt: In the beginning of Gal. 3:1, Paul asks the question, “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you?” Then he goes on to talk about how they started in a life of faith then fell into a lifestyle of works apart from the Holy Spirit. Without faith it is impossible to please God. About Abraham Scripture says, “He believed the Lord, and it was credited to him as righteousness” (Gen. 15:6).
Jeremiah 33:16 In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this is the name by which it will be called: “The LORD is our righteousness.”
Todd Bentley: He did not have in the natural what he needed to fulfill the vision. The question was: “How am I going to get from point A to point B?” Maybe you’re in a place like Zerubbabel and you don’t know how you are going to fulfill the vision. What God has put in your heart seems impossible. Life’s circumstances are against you. Zerubbabel was seeking God’s answer. How am I going to do what you called me to do? Many of us are saying, “God, if I had this or that then I could do what you ask me to do.” God’s answer was Zechariah 4:1-8 (emphasis mine), “Now the angel who talked with me came back and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep. And he said to me, ‘What do you see?’ (It’s all about perspective!)
Brat: I remember Jack. He slept through everything!
Genesis 38:16 “And what will you give me to sleep with you?” she asked.
Revelation 3:2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.
Ryan LeStrange: My Monday Word for You…Free from Shame!
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: By fighting and arguing with the impulse, you give it validation. In effect, while pushing it away with one hand, you are inviting it to return with your second hand. At times, you can push away a negative thought with one hand only.
Pastor John Tolle: In the old Hyundai things stopped working. I complained. God said, “It runs!”
Daughter-in-law: (But not in reverse!)
Pastor John Tolle: We called the car “Abby” cuz we didn’t know how we’d get from A to B.
Todd Bentley: “So I said, ‘I am looking, and there is a lamp stand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps. Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.’ So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, ‘What are these, my lord?’ Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, ‘Do you not know what these are?’ And I said, ‘No, my lord.’ So he answered and said to me: ‘This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts. “Who are you, O great mountain? God spoke to the mountain of hindrance and impossible circumstances. Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!'”
Netgrace.org (27 Nov 18): Giving Tuesday – GRACE
Brat: I thought the two olive trees were the Jews and the Christians and the seven lamps were the Seven Churches.
Todd Bentley: “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God…” (Psalm 52:8). What does it mean to be like a green olive tree? We also see the green olive tree in Zechariah 4:11-14, “Then I answered and said to him, ‘What are these two olive trees—at the right of the lamp stand and at its left?’ And I further answered and said to him, ‘What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?’ Then he answered me and said, ‘Do you not know what these are?’ And I said, ‘No, my lord.’ So he said, ‘These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.'” This is a prophetic picture of the sons of fresh oil and great grace. We will look at this grace a little bit later in the article. The key here is, let’s stay where the oil is!
Steve Shultz: Another reminder to us…to hold onto the promises of God—even ones that look dead and couldn’t possibly come to life!
Genesis 38:16a Not realizing that she was his daughter-in-law, he went over to her by the roadside and said, “Come now, let me sleep with you.”
Brat: It’s not at all what you think it is. Get your mind out of the gutter.
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: There is an insightful expression in the Kabbalah about the way a person should deal with immoral and destructive fantasies, thoughts and impulses. “You must push them away with both of your hands,” says Rabbi Schneur Zalman.3[ ]
Luke 1: 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.
Crystal Wade: Each time we move through this process, our doors open wider!
Gidon Ariel: Kathryn, “I Have Plans For You!”
Luke 1: 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.
Genesis 38:18 “Your seal and its cord, and the staff in your hand,” she answered. So he gave them to her and slept with her, and she became pregnant by him.
Luke 1: 35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: In addition, we must take into consideration the power possessed by this Egyptian noblewoman who was inciting Joseph. She was in the position of being able to turn Joseph’s life into a paradise or a living hell. In fact, she did just that, having him incarcerated for 12 years in an Egyptian dungeon on the false charges that he attempted to violate her.
Brat: And I’ve been “incarcerated” and singing in this birdcage for …hmmm… lemme see…I’m now in my twelfth year.
Rick Joyner: Giving is one thing, but when someone proposes a “partnership,” I still do a very serious “due diligence” before I join with anyone in such a serious relationship. Like any sound organization, I have it spelled out very clearly what the performance in this agreement looks like. Those who do not do business with such clear intent don’t last long, and neither do ministries or churches. This is not my ministry, but I am a steward of The King of kings. So seek to do a better job managing such things for Him than I would do for any organization or government.
Brat: I noticed.
Genesis 38:17a “I’ll send you a young goat from my flock,” he said.
Pastor John Tolle: Everything points back to God, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Leviticus 16: 10 But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.
Pastor John Tolle: Will we take time to give thanks?
Brat (in “Tunnel Vision” 21 Nov 18): As I lay face-down with my nose buried between two pillows, I saw Jesus standing at a distance. My spiritual eyes narrowed to focus, like through a tunnel. He was glowing in holy white light. His pierced hands were relaxed and slightly down in front of Him in a gesture of invitation. The area around His heart glowed yellow starbursts pulsating like from the sun. At first I thought my mind was just superimposing a statue of the Immaculate Heart of Jesus into my consciousness, but Jesus said, “No.” I was not seeing a dead statue, but His living Self.
Monk: Jesus is alive, but He is called the Lamb not the goat!
Parable of the Vineyard ( ): Isaiah 42 brings judgement unto truth. This is what Jesus did.
Jeremiah 33:15 In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
Rick Joyner: Israel’s restoration is a miracle and its implications are so huge that it is understandable that many have allowed this to eclipse their understanding of the coming New Jerusalem, which we are told is the bride, the wife of The Lamb. Many Messianic Jews have an understanding of the church’s place in God’s plans, but it is at least as shallow as the understanding many untaught Christians have about Israel’s place. We cannot truly understand Israel, and the present Jerusalem’s place in God’s plan, without understanding the “Jerusalem above,” or the “New Jerusalem” that is the focus of the conclusion in Revelation.
John Belt: Gal. 3:13-14, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Rick Joyner: Consider that there was a period of about two thousand years when God dealt almost exclusively with or through the Jewish people. Now there has been nearly two thousand years when most of God’s work was to and through the Gentiles, which is called “the times of the Gentiles.” Many wrongly assume that when the times of the Gentiles is completed, we will revert to another time of the Jews, but that is not the case. It will be a time when the Jews and Gentiles are united in the “one new man” the Apostle Paul spoke of to the Ephesians. Many from both camps talk about the “one new man,” but it is apparent that few understand it.
John Belt: Where Will You Run?
1 Samuel 4:13 When he arrived, there was Eli sitting on his chair by the side of the road, watching, because his heart feared for the ark of God. When the man entered the town and told what had happened, the whole town sent up a cry.
John Belt: In your heart and with your mouth you signed on that dotted line, coming into agreement with God that Jesus was raised from the dead through both belief and confession. As we walk by faith we continue to do this with both His written and personal promises by signing on the dotted line as His promises are revealed to us.
Rick Joyner: It should not be so surprising that few Messianic Jews seem to grasp the place of the New Jerusalem since very few Christians do either. The vision of both is still mostly earthly. Both Christians and Jews have much to learn about the other, and we need to do this because our ultimate destiny is linked. Neither of us can get to where we’re supposed to go without the other, and our ultimate destiny is to be “one new man,” not two.
John Belt: God gives people a choice. This happens when the people choose a king rather than choosing God to rule over them. God gave the Israelites Saul. Yet God was wanting direct relationship with the people. The curse of the law affects people when they live by the law rather than allowing God’s law to lead them to the person of who He is. The law simply revealed what God would demand with the revelation that it would be impossible for any man to fulfill it—outside of Christ, God Himself. Therefore Christ became a curse on the tree, setting us free from the curse of the law that we might be partakers of the Spirit who enables us to fulfill God’s desires as He writes His commands upon our hearts.
Rick Joyner: A majority of the advancing church seems aware of and committed to restored Israel’s place in God’s plan. However, this is not the case with much of the institutional church. It also seems that only a very small percentage of Messianic Jews seem to understand the church’s place in God’s plan for the end of this age or the age to come. Their overwhelming focus is on the present Jerusalem, and only a few seem to grasp the “Jerusalem above,” or the “New Jerusalem” that is the focus of the Book of Revelation’s conclusion. This is not so surprising since very few Christians do either.
Genesis 38:17b “Will you give me something as a pledge until you send it?” she asked.
John Belt: As sons of God we are given His promises that we may experience His divine nature in our lives. We begin to live as Christ lived and walk as Christ walked. Through this, we begin to see the blessing of Abraham come upon our lives because we are then living by faith through intimate relationship with God.
Todd Bentley: So let’s be mindful of Song of Solomon 2:15 and “Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.” The little foxes (i.e. time, television, relationships, etc.) are the things that steal away our intimacy with Jesus and spoil the fruitfulness that comes from intimacy (John 15:5).
Me (in “Dove” 24 Nov 18): Interestingly Solomon is talking to the dove (the Beloved) in the cleft of the rock and asking the dove to catch the little foxes.
Pastor John Tolle: I glorify God because of you. I’m not here to glorify myself. When you do something good and anyone thanks me, it’s all because of Him.
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: Pushing an impulse away with two hands means that you simply and silently dismiss it from your brain. Without argument, fanfare or drama, you just make it very clear that it is unwelcome in your life and you must move on to alternative thoughts and actions. You do not validate it in any way, not even by arguing against it. You simply do not attribute any power or significance to it. That is what it is called pushing it away with both hands. Sooner or later, it will cease trying to come back.
Leviticus 16: 21 He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites—all their sins—and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.
Me (in “Dove” 24 Nov 18): These are my thoughts: One of the disadvantages of having one’s priest (or elder) not acknowledge one’s gifts and calling is that there are no protections in place from the little foxes who eat the harvest. There is no one from whom to accept the baton (using Paul’s marathon imagery), and there is no one to tell the congregation of the gifts benefitting the whole. I’m not here to puff myself up, but to lift up Jesus as reigning King.
Pastor John Tolle: Grace acknowledges the gift.
Brat: But you didn’t, and neither did the bishop. The divine energy stops there. It’s stuck. It can’t move forward to be a blessing to the community in its full capacity.
Charisma: Loving the Holy Spirit for more than just his gifts
Genesis 38: 10 What he did was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so the LORD put him to “death” also.
Pastor John Tolle: A couple of years ago Fr Mike Flynn asked, “Aren’t you spitting nails about what they’ve done to you?” I said that Jesus was crucified [with nails]. It’s because of God’s grace that we can carry on.
Brat (in Arc speak to “Fall of the City of Knowledge” 22 Nov 18): What about acknowledging what God has already done? What about connecting the ranks to get rid of the religious spirit and replacing it with a spirit of wholeness and love and respect for each other’s gifts to the glory of God, rather than just feeding more arc speak to fuel the fires? At this rate the fires are burning up the harvest rather than becoming the harvest.
Rick Joyner: As a Christian leader with a fairly sizable reach, I am often contacted by Messianic groups that want to “partner” with me. I’m always open to any kind of partnership that will further the kingdom, but I am especially open to these because it must happen. When I ask how they see this partnership working, the answer has been focused, with but one exception, 100% on ways we can support them or contribute to their projects. There seemingly is not even a thought about how they can help us or contribute to what we are doing.
Brat: [Cough.]
Revelation 3:3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: Aware of the profound danger that he might fall prey to immoral behavior, the first thing Joseph did was present the woman with a thundering “no.” As the thrice repetitive “shalshelet” note suggests, Joseph, in unwavering determination, declared three times: “No! No! No!” Forget about it, I will not do this! No ifs, buts, or maybes. Only afterward did Joseph allow himself the indulgence of the rational argument against adultery.
Brat: I’m sorry, is my cough not loud enough for you? This kind of self-centered focus Rick is talking about was what the Lord was confronting with His harlot Church in the Book of Revelation, and you think I should do more than God? Nope. Ain’t happenin’. Nah, uh. No way. If God can spit (Rev 3:16) then what’s a nervous tick of a cough?
Leviticus 16: 13 He is to put the incense on the fire before the Lord, and the smoke of the incense will conceal the atonement cover above the tablets of the covenant law, so that he will not die.
Pastor John Tolle: I’m thankful for the grace of God that He hasn’t struck me dead yet.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Demand to hear the whole story.
Crystal Wade: Comply with conditions for the heavenly Kingdom’s palace doors to open by separating ourselves from what our Father calls unclean, so that we can have the deep fellowship with Him that Jesus paid for.
Pastor John Tolle: The gift of God in Jesus is more valuable than any other gift, even when I sacrifice.
Genesis 38:18a He said, “What pledge should I give you?”
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Go to your favorite Lubavitcher’s house, or with him or her to the party he is attending. If you don’t know one, get in touch with the nearest official Chabad person.
Brat: Lori’s family is Chabad.
Revelation 2: 26 To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Say “l’chayim.”
David Lebo: “God is Bringing Dead Promises to Life and Saying: ‘Lazarus Come Forth!'”
Rick Joyner: When I asked what we would get out of this “partnership,” some offered that a way to help us is for them to come and teach our people about God’s purpose for Israel. Now I believe that teaching is important, but I also know how many Christians feel worn out and used because of it, with little or no reciprocation. Most Messianic Jews are just as much in need of a revelation of God’s purpose for the church.
Ben Lim (7 Nov 18): At the same time, I saw that we are living in the days where man-made forms and agendas will fall. But I declare over you who’ve been found faithful, tried and true: His voice is leading you through. You shall pass over, BREAKING THE CYCLES.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: What to Do on Yud-Tes Kislev?
Jennifer Brownell: It was desperate times for King Josiah’s people, and because he did not know what else to do, he reminded them of the simplicity and strength of the rituals of their ancestors. Josiah’s resurrected passover was different than our little ritual, but it was also the same. Circle. Song. Scripture. Fire. Water. Prayer. Food shared.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Sing along.
Todd Bentley: In this passage of Scripture, we have the story of a man called by God to a huge task of rebuilding the former temple of Solomon. This vision was bigger than he was. It was an international ministry involving the whole nation. One problem he had was that he didn’t have the money or the workers to do what God called him to do. “‘Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?’ Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Consider your ways! You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.’ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Consider your ways, go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,’ says the Lord. ‘You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you run to his own house'” (Haggai 1:4-9).
Genesis 38:21 He asked the men who lived there, “Where is the shrine prostitute who was beside the road at Enaim?”
“There hasn’t been any shrine prostitute here,” they said.
Faith Marie Baczko: “By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.” (Heb. 11:11)
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: The Lubavitcher Rebbe teaches that a basic reorientation of perspective of what the Torah is and what it expects from us about serving G-d can be learned here. Even though a basic tenant of the Torah is, “It is fitting for a person to contemplate the laws of the Holy Torah and to learn them in depth, each person according to his ability.” (Maimonides, end of The Laws of Embezzlement). This means that you must use your brain and intellect to understand G-d’s commandments, and therefore we learn the age of obligation of the commandments from the word eesh (“man”) that indicates a certain maturity of intellect. Nevertheless, the foundation of serving G-d is NOT intellect and understanding, but accepting the yoke of Heaven. Doing it because G-d commanded it, not because you understand it. Even if we do not understand the commandments we still have to fulfill them because G-d commanded it.
Pastor John Tolle: The Tolle Family all came over here [to America] as indentured servants.
Rick Joyner: Now if the above were business proposals, no one would take them seriously. However, I do even though they are (for now) almost completely one-sided. When it was prophesied in the Book of Acts that a famine would come upon the whole earth, the church prepared for this not by hording, but by taking up an offering for the needy brethren in Israel. As we are taught in the Book of Romans, those who have received so much spiritually from the Jewish people should be willing to help them with physical needs.
Genesis 23:9 so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you.”
Rabbi Shaul Yosef Leiter: This is the reason we learn the obligation of the commandments from this verse, “And each man took his sword”, that when Shimon and Levi reached their majority of thirteen and therefore their obligation to perform the commandments, they immediately began to serve G-d in a way of self-sacrifice, even of putting their lives in danger, that is higher than intellect.
Rick Joyner (27 Nov 18): We need each other to fulfill this great purpose…
Brat: [Slow blink.]
Genesis 38:20 Meanwhile Judah sent the young goat by his friend the Adullamite in order to get his pledge back from the woman, but he did not find her.
Faith Marie Baczko: After recently reading this passage, my spirit became very stirred as I saw all these principles come together powerfully in Sarah—I saw something marvelous that I had not seen before. Firstly, the miracle came forth by faith—Sarah believed! Secondly, where did her faith come from? She counted Him faithful who had promised. Sarah had experienced the faithfulness of God in her life on many occasions. The word for faith used in this Scripture is pistis and means: conviction of the truthfulness of God. Sarah received strength to conceive. The Greek word for strength is Dunamis which means: miraculous, supernatural power.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Make a good resolution in connection to Torah-and-mitzvot.
Revelation 12: 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: There was a king who had an only child that became deathly sick and fell into a coma. The royal physician announced that there was only one hope. If the prince could be made to swallow a few drops of a special medicine, perhaps it would help. The main ingredient of this remedy was the ground-up particles of a certain precious stone. The jewel was so rare, however, that there was only one in the entire kingdom: the central and most beautiful gem of the king’s crown.
Israel 365 (22 Nov 18): The Stones of Israel ✡ “Your Servants Take Delight In Its Stones”
Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: “The image of his father appeared to him in the window and said, ‘Joseph, your brothers’ names are destined to be inscribed on the stones of the [high priest’s] apron, and you will be among them. Do you want your name to be erased? Do you want to be called an adulterer?'”
Faith Marie Baczko: Sarah’s mind was renewed by faith in God—she saw, she believed, she trusted, thereby establishing a foundation of faith for all future generations. Sarah decided, she made the decision to act on the promise that marked out the course of her life. She occupied the revelation and nurtured it and brought forth a child in old age! Sarah’s faith released the explosive, miraculous, Dunamis power of God to break forth in her body and in her life.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: His advisors told the king not to risk destroying the crown, because the chances of success were much too small. Without the slightest hesitation the king dismissed them, exclaiming, “If the prince doesn’t survive, of what value is the crown?”
John Belt: The law was just a tutor to lead us to the person of Christ. Everything God does is to get us to come to Him. If you run the other direction things will only get harder. He will put things in your path that are not so pleasant. As always, when unpleasantries come we get the choice of where we will run. It reveals what is in the heart. Will you run to God or to something else? Living by the law is a horrible way to live because it was never meant to be the case. As it reveals the shortcomings of our lives it is meant to drive us toward God—our relationship with Him.
Faith Marie Baczko: Transformation into the new wineskin requires that the old has to go. The old is characterized by small mindedness, religious mindsets bound to control, un-Christlike attitudes devoid of God’s love and compassion, and irrelevant traditions no longer serving the Lord that are actually working to hinder His purposes in the new work.
John Belt: God gives us His promises in black and white in the Scriptures. He also gives us personal promises that are only between you and Him through your relationship. These personal words from God into your life are to be claimed as well, even as they are confirmed with 2 or 3 witnesses. This means that your personal promises are not contradictory to the heart and truth of Scripture. All the promises of God are “yes” in Christ.
Brat (25 Nov 18): Today is Reign of Christ Sunday. Lord Jesus, please come! Reign in our hearts, in our land, and in our world. Take dominion over every place and every thought. Remember us with favor in all the hardships we’ve endured. Open Your books! There must be accountability! You are the faithful witness. For the sake of Your kingdom, show Yourself to every eye, even those who pierce You. I know all the tribes will wail, but remorse can be a healing thing. You have testified to the Truth. I belong to the truth and I listen to Your voice. I worship You!
Rick Joyner: I have a great respect for Messianic movements. Many would be included in a list of the most courageous people I know. Many of their brethren, the Jews, hate them and persecute them, especially those in Israel. Many Christians consider them at best a forgettable anomaly. The New Testament confirms the place of Messianic Jews as being both believers of Jesus as their Messiah, and yet being called to maintain their Jewish culture and identity. We see this distinction being honored often in the New Testament, and it is one Christians need to understand and honor.
Parable of the Vineyard ( ): He [Jesus] will magnify the law. He was to make it honorable.
John Belt (26 Nov 18): “Freed from the Curse of the Law – Walk in Your Sonship!”
Pastor John Tolle: Grace is life after failure.
Crystal Wade: A few years ago during prayer, suddenly I said to my Heavenly Father, “Where I’ve judged You for this, I am very sorry, please forgive me.” Immediately I experienced His presence, sweet and clear. Heavenly Father, who is Father of our spirits, affirmed that He accepted my prayer. Instead of focusing on my failure, He instantly moved right on and began building a new pathway of thinking in me. Here is that astonishing conversation…
Steve Shultz: Through this conversation, the Lord showed her keys to opening doors.
John Belt: Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law having become a curse for us. What is the curse of the law? The curse is upon those who “live by the law” or even “live by the list” of legalisms and extensive rules. God does not want us living by a list but by relationship with Him. The law came because of the transgressions of the children of Israel (Gal. 3:19). Because of this idolatry and transgression God issued the law.
Pastor John Tolle: How long is your list?
John Belt: God wants to bring us to a place where we can believe Him to do above and beyond what we can ask or think. This is beyond laws and the list of things to do. It requires a living, faith-filled relationship with God that believes He will do what He says. Appropriate the work of Christ in your life today, exiting the curse of the law and through faith, embrace the blessing of sonship in Him as a heir of God.
Crystal Wade: We don’t have to work harder, pray harder or do more. Simply but powerfully, we can prepare the way of the Lord by removing the door blockages in our relationship with our heavenly Father. From there, we begin coming into alignment with our Father in our spirit—to be the open door between Heaven and Earth, which gives Him freedom to move through us and release His power and His creative and redemptive works.
John-Paul & Annie Deddens (26 Nov 18): St. Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa) said:
“Are we ready to receive Him? Before the birth of Jesus, his parents asked for a simple dwelling place, but there was none. If Mary and Joseph were looking for a home for Jesus, would they choose … your heart, and all it holds? Let us pray that we shall be able to welcome Jesus at Christmas…”
Crystal Wade: Allow Him to build compassion and love that does the best for others. Most of the wounds we’ve received came from His process through our trials and sufferings, intended to yield compassion and love in us.
Genesis 38:22 So he went back to Judah and said, “I didn’t find her. Besides, the men who lived there said, ‘There hasn’t been any shrine prostitute here.’”
Jennifer Brownell: Prayer
Dear God – Give us circles, song, scriptures, fire, water, prayers and food shared in your Name. Amen.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Give extra tzedakah (“charity”)
House of Destiny: Imagine If We All Came Together To GIVE
Jennifer Brownell: So, one evening we came together. We sat in a circle of chairs. We sang an old song and a new one. We heard laments and stories about strong women and a fable that made us, unexpectedly, laugh. We lit candles. We dipped our fingers in a bowl of water. We prayed. And then someone found some leftover cupcakes covered in orange frosting, so we ate. The times are still desperate, but we are navigating better now.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: The two stories seem to clash. Given Rabbi Shneur Zalman’s successful defense of his master, isn’t the seemingly identical charge against him decades later a clear case of double jeopardy?
Genesis 38:19 After she left, she took off her veil and put on her widow’s clothes again.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: The key is to isolate two different approaches to the study of the mystical teachings, each of which is an outgrowth and embodiment of one of two justifications for the spread of this study in our times.
Israel 365 (26 Nov 18): Sacrificing for the Land ✡ “The Field With Its Cave”
Revelation 6:15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
Genesis 23:11 “No, my lord,” he said. “Listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the presence of my people. Bury your dead.”
Elijah List: Watch! John Mark Pool: “Walking Out the Path of a Prophet”
Crystal Wade: Father, thank You for Your graciousness to grant me the right to be Your son/daughter through the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for not treating me as my sins deserve, but crowning me with love, compassion and honor. Everywhere that I have judged You, holding unforgiveness and bitterness against You, for the long-standing and present pain that I (and/or my family) have endured, I confess it and ask Your forgiveness. I yield these places to You for Your deep and complete restoration. Please fill and seal these places with Your Holy Spirit.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Rabbi Chaim Vital (1543-1620) wrote in the name of the Holy ARI of Tsfat, that the spread of the hidden wisdom is indispensable for two reasons: to overcome the increasing spiritual darkness of the modern environment, and to help usher in the Era of Moshiach. For the first purpose the best approach is to search the literature for those sparks that impact meaningfully for you – or in terms of the parable, to assimilate a few drops. The latter purpose, however – to prepare for and elicit the Messianic redemption – mandates a more explicit, detailed knowledge than the first, scanning approach. Here the goal is not illumination but saturation – until “the world be full of the knowledge of G’d as the waters of the sea cover their bed of earth” (Maimonides, Mishnah Torah (end), from Isaiah 11:9).
Crystal Wade: I want to work with You, not against You. Reframe my perspective from trauma to restoration, so that with Your light I can see You and recognize the deep work of compassion and love that You’ve been doing in my life. I want to be an open door for You to move freely through, releasing the love, hope and faith that sparks miracles, deliverances and healings; drawing people to You and healing the earth. Please rearguard all this progress with Your glory, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Now the two stories can be understood in sequence, resolving the apparent contradiction. The “crown prince” parable effectively defended the “spark-gathering” approach. The second accusation, a generation later, was not a repetition of the first; rather it focused on the intellectual explicitness of Rabbi Shneur Zalman’s public teachings.
Steve Shultz: I pray this article ministers deeply to every one of you…let nothing stop you from the open doors God has before you!
Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: Both approaches are, of course, important and necessary. However, the imminent arrival of Moshiach would seem to add emphasis to the attainment of deep, full knowledge of Torah’s inner dimensions. A great way to begin on this Yud-Tes Kislev, is with the new cycle of daily Tanya study.
Rick Joyner: The most serious partnership we could ever enter into on this earth is going to come between the church and Israel. It seems both sides have some maturing to do before we are ready, and working together in any way that we can is one good way to get ready for it.
Brat: Is there no place of sanctuary where we can all work on this together?
