Working Dates: Friday, October 6, 2017 to Sunday, October 8, 2017

[14 pages]

Brat (in “A Man Had Two Sons” 01 Oct 17): Help us, Lord, to make this a win-win to get our story to Your people. To do this I need a benefactor. Will anyone step in to help Thyatira?

Rabbi YY Jacobson: “For all the days of the water drawing,” recalled Rabbi Joshua ben Chanania in the Talmud, “our eyes saw no sleep.” The Talmud further declares: “One who did not see the joy of the water-drawing celebrations, has not seen joy in his life.”

Fr Dwight Longenecker (5 Nov 2015): It’s all full of enthusiastic and optimistic language about how Lutherans and Catholics are all starting to agree after 500 years.

Rick Joyner: It is noteworthy in this Scripture that the devil seeks to devour the child when He is born, which happened when Christ was born. This also reveals a basic strategy of the devil. With almost every work that is born of God, there will be an onslaught and attempt to destroy it while it is still young and vulnerable. We should be prepared for this anytime we are used to start anything new.

Matthew 21:40 Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”

Samantha Lee-Wiraatmaja: I am breaking the mold of human wisdom. My people are going to begin to find that the way things used to work just don’t work anymore. They are beginning to feel the frustration of futility in the things they’ve understood up to this point. The things they’ve known, which have brought them great success in the past, just aren’t going to work anymore.

Fr Dwight Longenecker: “Good God!” she exclaimed, “I don’t want to be a Catholic! What on earth do we want unity with them for?”

Brat (in “Basset Eyes” 23 Sept 17): Excuse me, but sanctuary is a basic need. You have sanctuary. Why can’t I? So I’m not Catholic. I’m not a groupie, but that never bothered you before.

Tony Robinson: In Exodus, God’s people are warned about following the crowd, about “following a majority in wrong-doing.” What I’m talking about isn’t just following the crowd; it’s using the crowd for cover.

Sid Roth: Revealing the Ancient Paradigm

Wanda Alger: From the beginning of time, I have shown the power of My Presence to displace and overcome every foe and enemy that would come against you. I have given you the template for seeing the enemy not only defeated, but routed and utterly removed from your midst. For I do not call you to fight. I never have. I already fought for you and the battle has already been won. All I’ve ever asked of you – is to stand. Stand in My Presence and see the deliverance I have already won for you (Joshua 23:10; 2 Chronicles 20:17; 1 Peter 5:8-9; Ephesians 6:11).

Psalm 19:3 There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard;

Samantha Lee-Wiraatmaja: “Run to Me, seek Me. I hold the mysteries of the universe and I want to make them known to you, one layer at a time. I don’t just mean spiritual mysteries, but also blueprints in science, art, business, parenting, and every other area of life. Depend wholly on Me in all areas of your life, big and small.

Psalm 19:4 yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens he has set a tent for the sun,

Fr Dwight Longenecker: The language of these ecumenical documents is always very elastic. The participants efforts to agree are laudable. We all want church unity, but too often they seem to be straining at gnats and swallowing camels.

Psalm19:5 which comes out like a bridegroom from his wedding canopy, and like a strong man runs its course with joy.
Speaking up

Tony Robinson: Constructive criticism is completely legitimate and absolutely necessary. But do it like grown-ups. Say, “This is what I think.” Don’t say, “Many people are thinking.” Be accountable.

Brat (in “The Purpose of a Dog” 25 Sept 17): Honestly, Rick [Joyner], I could have sworn that back in the day the edict of SILENCE was issued forth from your domain and that was meant to punish me for speaking up. That edict caused me more fear than if you’d been straight with me from the beginning. I could be wrong, as mystics are not always right. I forgive you and Steve Shultz, the Funny Bunnies, and myself for misplaced assumptions and burdens.

Kaji Douša (in “RE: Yom Kippur” 4 Oct 17): Shackles can come off but God’s love clings forever. But are we taking off the shackles, here in America? Or do they just shift form?

Brat (in “A Man Had Two Sons” 01 Oct 17): There is no foreseeable way of reaching Thyatira. Fr Dwight [Longenecker] stepped sideways, just as Rick Joyner stepped sideways. God wants the reconciliation of the Churches!

Matthew 21:46 They wanted to arrest him, but they feared the crowds, because they regarded him as a prophet.

Pastor John Tolle: The people not well known, common people, understood and knew how to advise in how to move forward. They spoke to one another and not to the king. Do you realize God wants to give you wisdom? You see a bigger picture.

Tony Robinson: “You shall not follow a majority in wrongdoing . . . you shall not side with the majority so as to pervert justice.” – Exodus 23: 2

Charles Phillips: We are in a time where the strife that has possessed this land is being confronted by the Lord of Hosts. Sons and Daughters have risen up with a “sound” in their mouth and a “fire” in their heart that will shake the enemy to its core. What was carried outwardly in the Old Covenant is now possessed inwardly in the New. We are the Trumpets and Fiery Torches that will bring an end to strife in this land. It is not in our ability to create big speeches and endless debating that will deliver us from this enemy. It is in our ability to MANifest the Kingdom of God in the earth. “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power” 1 Cor. 2:4

Psalm 80:7 Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved.

Anna Blake: Are horses who we really hate? Why is it so important for us to label each other victors or victims? Is it possible for our intellect and heart to rise above our predator instinct?

Inas Younis: The irony is that the personality of an abuser is really nothing but the alibi of a man who has not yet fully formed. The charismatic spiritual abuser is larger than life because this is only way he can compensate himself for his own un-lived life.

Katie Barker: I felt so much expectation on what is in store for the people of God. I also felt a greater call to intercession for the nations as well as an invitation from the Lord to “ask for the nations” for it is His desire for us to ask Him for that which He has placed on our heart.

Psalm 19:8 the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eyes;

Joyce Meyer: What Happens When We Start Believing for Supernatural Favor?

Amber Picota: God is moving them into the harvest field as influential harvesters, and He has favored them just as highly as seasoned ministers. This is not due to anything they’ve done, and no amount of prayer and fasting buys you favor. This is just the divine choice of God in this season.

Wanda Alger: Know that as you seek this place of My Presence, everything else will come into alignment and submission to the Father’s will and purpose. My Presence in and through you will shift atmospheres and bring supernatural transformation to everything around you. When you war in My Presence you only need stand. It is there you will find victory; it is there My glory will be seen.

Rick Joyner: The next great event is that Michael, the angel assigned in Scripture for the protection and purposes of Israel, goes to war with the devil and his messengers. Michael and his forces prevail until the dragon and his messengers are cast out of heaven and thrown down to the earth.

Revelation 12:Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.

Fr Dwight Longenecker: You remember Chesterton’s observation, “When two paths begin to diverge the gap between them always widens.”

Alane Haynes: Let Holy Spirit show you if there is anything in your heart taking precedence over God (your Isaac), and take an act of faith to pierce that dragon! His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!

Rick Joyner: (Revelation 12:1-2). This is generally accepted to represent Israel, which gave birth to the Messiah and was then immediately assaulted by the powers of this world. They have been under this assault and threat of destruction since.

Anna Blake: I notice it’s as hard to stand up to bullying as it ever was.

Inas Younis: The sooner we learn the signs to recognize spiritual abusers around us and support victims in whichever way they need, the sooner we focus on the messages of faith and spirituality that will sustain us.

Rick Joyner: The Best of MorningStar

Rabbi Yerachmiel Tilles: “While lying in a coma I saw a sort of courtroom, and the mood of the judges was frighteningly somber. Then, an old man stood up. He had a large, squarish white beard and piercing blue eyes, yet his face was welcoming and somehow reassuring. He announced to the court that he would assume responsibility for me.”

Donna Schaper: Like that boss, I have lots of morning glories.  A new non-blooming strain has shown up in my garden, right alongside the blue and pink and purple and tri-color beauties.  I pull the non-bloomers off their stakes in the summer, leaving the colorful to dine and twine.

Samantha Lee-Wiraatmaja: “I am about to release a bumper crop of harvest across the earth. My Church needs to ask My Holy Spirit for wisdom to steward this bumper crop. Many are praying for revival and calling out for reformation, but not many are ready for it when it comes. Is My Church prepared to handle the outpouring of My glory? Are My people ready for the floodgates to be opened? Are you prepared to have your world and everything you’ve known to be turned upside-down, inside-out? That’s what the wave of My glory will do. Have you counted the cost? Do you truly want this?

Isaiah 5:7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the people of Judah are his pleasant planting; he expected justice, but saw bloodshed; righteousness, but heard a cry!

Jennifer LeClaire: The Plumb Line: A Spiritual Warfare Battle Plan for Victory

Amber Picota: “God is Raising Up Uncommon Leaders in Uncommon Places”

Anna Blake: Making War on Horses: Is it Leadership?

Inas Younis: Spiritual abusers leverage religion as a way of securing personal power over our consciousness. They use God as the basis for their claims against our will, and use the community’s needs as a claim against our rights.

Joey LeTourneau: This is a famous moment in the gospels that I wonder if it’s time we dive into again; and by dive I mean literally so. Right now, we’re watching a swirl of deception, division, hatred, fear and accusation be gulped down by the glass in the world, fueling a war of words we don’t need to be engaged in—at least not like this. We don’t need to choose a side and point at the other. Evil doesn’t choose sides, it tries to lie its way into both. And the world is thirsty right now, so much so that they are going to the well and drinking what the enemy is offering. What if we met them there and gave them something different to drink?

Clarissa Pinkola Estés: Creativity is a shapechanger. One moment it takes this form, the next that. It is like a dazzling spirit who appears to us all, yet is hard to describe for no one agrees on what they saw in that brilliant flash. Are the wielding of pigments and canvas, or paint chips and wallpaper, evidence of its existence? How about pen and paper, flower borders on the garden path, building a university? Yes. Touching with love the leaves of a plant, pulling down “the big deal,” tying off the loom, finding one’s voice, loving someone well? Yes. Catching the hot body of the newborn, raising a child to adulthood, helping raise a nation from its knees? Yes. Tending to a marriage like the orchard it is, digging for psychic gold, finding the shapely word, sewing a blue curtain? All are of the creative life. All these things are from the Wild Woman, the Rio Abajo Rio, the river beneath the river, which flows and flows into our lives. (p 298) [1]

Anna Blake: Humans are born predators. We make war but we are also capable of great acts of heart. How we deal with horses, dogs, and even children give us a chance to ask ourselves the hard questions.

MorningStar Ministries: Retail $35; Yours For $30

Matthew 26: 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver.

Donna Schaper: Hardness of heart is a spiritual matter in love relationships, divorces, between siblings – and in the garden.  Often mid-summer I make a mistake that turns up just about now, right before the first snow.  I pull out the morning glories that didn’t produce, like a cruel boss does when she fires a worker who gets behind on his numbers.  One grower in Florida made this point quite well to me, as we stood in his tomato field. “Sure, Reverend, I could pay these workers more per bushel.  But have you any idea how many stand right behind them, willing to pick the tomatoes for what I pay?”

Psalm 19:12 But who can detect their errors? Clear me from hidden faults.

Show biz

Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: A fourth universally accepted method of expressing love is by means of an embrace. A “big fat hug,” when it is authentic and not just for show biz, demonstrates a solid and profound bond existing between the two people embracing each other.

Brat (in “RE: Yom Kippur” 4 Oct 17): I know what you are talking about. I just got one of those show biz hugs at church on Sunday. From the beginning of my calling, I write and the priests and pastors preach on what I’ve written, but they don’t have to give anything in return. They just suck off the energy. Vamp. Going back ten years (and many attempts at escape), these are upstanding citizens of society. But when all is said and done, this is still a type of religious porn, while fulfilling the prophecies in the Book of Revelation. (“Gee, a ‘twofer’ deal,” croaked the toad.) I KNOW that I’m loved by God! I don’t know that they know that they are loved by God. God didn’t put me in this cell. Man did. It’s not my lack of faith or courage. It’s their wielding of their authority. I pick my authority up in Jesus’ name and His promise that goes with it, and I ask for help to break this network. It’s only my word against theirs. They literally did NOTHING. Look, don’t touch. They can look digitally by remote. They can listen in while I pray. What crime is there in that? They’re the men in the pants. I’m just the nutcase mystic who sounds paranoid, right? But, there’s a kernel of truth inside every package of Crackerjacks. Even Satan and the demons know the truth.

James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Inas Younis: Both good and evil are made of truth. But good cannot tolerate any degree of falsehood and survive, while evil cannot survive without being disguised by some truth

Brat: There’s no accountability. For them there is no need. God will save me.

Psalm 19:13 Keep back your servant also from the insolent; do not let them have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.

Amber Picota: We are seeing unlikely ministers who don’t look, talk or act like professional preachers, who are literally just doing the work and sharing the Gospel in places that typical church-folk might be too scared to go. They are moving in power without a big flashy show, without any dramatic flair. They just do the stuff.

Isaiah 5:4 What more was there to do for my vineyard that I have not done in it? When I expected it to yield grapes, why did it yield wild grapes?

Inas Younis: A religious imposter is someone who has no identity independent of the perception of others and feels that he is a victim of their expectations, which he must fulfill to secure the attention and praise that has become his addiction and fix.

Pastor John Tolle (in “RE: Yom Kippur” 4 Oct 17): A wise thing is to understand how much you are loved by God. It will fill your bones. God is not a God wanting to pounce on you. Legalism is accepted or rejected based on performance. You’ll never measure up, because we’ve been corrupted. We’ve taken the cyanide of spiritual malaise. We’ve been poisoned!

Clarissa Pinkola Estés: Clearly creativity emanates from something that rises, rolls, surges, and spills into us rather than from something that just stands there hoping that we might, however circuitously, find our way to it. In that sense we can never “lose” our creativity. It is always there, filling us or else colliding with whatever obstacles are placed in its path. If it finds no inlet to us, it backs up, gathers energy, and rams forward again till it breaks through. The only ways we can avoid its insistent energy are to continuously mount barriers against it, or to allow it to be poisoned by destructive negativity and negligence. (p 300)

LinkedIn: Why boredom is good for you.

Clarissa Pinkola Estés: When a river is tainted, everything begins to die off because everything is dependent on everything else. In an actual river the sedge at the water’s edge goes brown starving for oxygen, the pollens can find no cribs among its roots for water lilies, willows will not grow catkins, newts find no mates, and mayflies will not hatch. Therefore the fish will not jump, birds will not dive down, and the wolves and other creatures that come to refresh themselves move on or else die from drinking bad water or eating prey that has eaten the dying plants near the water. (p 300)

Donna Schaper: Hardness of Heart

Matthew 21:44 The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and it will crush anyone on whom it falls.”

Inas Younis: Hypocrisy is a common human deformity. We all take some measures to avoid negative scrutiny. We have all been hypocritical at various points in our lives. But this is often done innocently, out of weakness or insecurity, and is not premeditated.

Clarissa Pinkola Estés: Since Wild Woman is Rio Abajo Rio, the river beneath the river, when she flows into us, we flow. If the aperture from her to us is blocked, we are blocked. If her currents are toxified by our own negative inner complexes or by the environ of persons around us, the delicate processes that craft our ideas are polluted also. Then we are like a dying river. This is not a slight thing, to be ignored. The loss of clear creative flow constitutes a psychological and spiritual crisis. (p 300)

Kaji Douša: Many would have interpreted his imprisonment as a sign of defeat. Certainly the state would have preferred this. Why else do we lock people away but to get them under control?

Brat: The warden stood at the door with his face close to the window looking at the child porn star. He saw her back as she crouched on the floor in the corner, kneeling at the foot of the cross. We are both imprisoned, even though he’s on the other side of the door.

Matthew 21:45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they realized that he was speaking about them.

Fr Dwight Longenecker: In other words, “Let’s celebrate full communion while we do not have full communion.”

Wanda Alger: Come to the secret place and learn to know My manifest, tangible Presence for yourself. Pray in the Spirit and ask of Me to draw your spirit to mine. This cannot be accomplished through discipline, but rather out of desperate desire for relationship with Me. It is your heart I long for, not your routines or religious practices. I truly long to be WITH you – in power.

Fr Dwight Longenecker: My other grumble about this sort of thing is that the language, in an attempt to be diplomatic and find points of agreement is invariably ambiguous, vague and deliberately confusing, and where it is not all this it is contradictory and illogical.

Fr Harvey Nicolaitan, SJ: You need to “build a platform”.

Inas Younis: An imposter or spiritual abuser, on the other hand, is intensely and methodically dedicated to the cultivation of an image, a disguise, a false personality — not necessarily to perhaps conceal their true selves from others but worse, to control them.

Sheri Rose Shepherd: Run to Win – “Good Morning My Princess”

Anne Janssens: Some of you may find yourselves on your knees for an extended period of time while you wait for your gift to mature. You may have to bury your heads between your knees like Elijah did and wait for the first glimpse of the promise. Don’t give up! KEEP PUSHING until it’s BIRTHED!

Inas Younis: Invocations to patience and reminders that your trust should have been with God and not with this or that person, only lays blame on the victim and shames them for what you are implicitly suggesting is their stupidity.

Fr Dwight Longenecker: They’re like the Anglicans.

Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson (in “RE: Yom Kippur” 4 Oct 17): There are two forms of love — reciprocal love and unconditional love. The first is directed to the face of the beloved one; the second is directed to the back of the beloved.

Fr Dwight Longenecker: In order to find “points of convergence” the dialogue masters find minor points of agreement, pump them up and then deflate the larger and more important points of disagreement that remain.

Wanda Alger: Do not allow the voices in your head to have sway and get you to engage in a war that’s over. The seeming battle is a smokescreen – an illusion of power and control that uses deception to manipulate and coerce a reaction. What you see in the natural realm – the turmoil, chaos, and confusion – is the acting-out of a vanquished foe that will never relent in his attempts to bring you down. He wants you to engage him. He wants to get you sidetracked with warfare tactics and battle plans. He wants you to fight, knowing he’s already lost. Don’t fall for it. My plan was already accomplished at the cross and the same resurrection power that brought me back from the grave is alive and well in you. It is this power that I call you to stand in as you face the ongoing assaults and attacks.

Brat: Yes, the war was won on the spiritual front. I, personally, won’t know the reality of this until I have actual sanctuary. You can remove the warden from the window, but that does not place me in a safe house and out of the cell. You have sanctuary, why can’t I?

Psalm 19:8 the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eyes;

Wanda Alger: “In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity he redeemed them; He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old” (Isaiah 63:9 ESV).

Isaiah 5:5 And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will remove its hedge, and it shall be devoured; I will break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.

Rick Joyner (in “The Purpose of a Dog” 25 Sept 17): Of course, this begins with us having faith in Him and freedom from fear. These are both things that we grow in. In II Corinthians 13:5 we are told to “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith.” How do we test ourselves this way? There are ways that we evaluate our spiritual growth, and there are ways that we evaluate relationships. These do not need to be complicated, but if we really care about something we will do this.

Brat: Then you must have cared a lot.

Inas Younis: Spiritual abusers will convince you that this is just a pop quiz from God, so sharpen your pencils and remember what you have learned from them. And, if they become really desperate, they will download the file on “conspiracy theories” that they have already programmed into your previously fragile psyche.

Brat: It wasn’t fragile until the warlords chipped away at it like waterboarding an inmate.

MorningStar Ministries: Order Your Flash Drive Today!

Isaiah 5:2 He dug it and cleared it of stones, and planted it with choice vines; he built a watchtower in the midst of it, and hewed out a wine vat in it; he expected it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.

Donna Schaper: When I look at the morning glory stakes in October, after the first frost, I see nothing left but the twine of the vine.  And that twine is often beautiful, symmetrically attached to its stake, circle by circle.  In October I get a good look at my summer mistake.  Some stakes are barren.    I had become a formulaic gardener, one who privileges bloom over shape, like a baseball fan who only likes home runs.  Plus, who knows when a new strain of morning glory is going to erupt from the genetic modifications clearly afoot?  What about next year or two years from now?  What hardness of heart cost me the patience of love?

Isaiah 5:5 And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will remove its hedge, and it shall be devoured; I will break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.

Inas Younis: They will confuse you by blurring the lines between your garden variety hypocrite (which they will claim you are) to the charlatan spiritual abuser that you suspect them of being, so that you will not be able to be critical for fear that you will appear hypocritical.

Lana Vawser: “Write it all down and you will go deeper than you have ever been.”

Kaji Douša: But some of Paul’s most powerful words were written in jail cells.

Brat (02 Oct 17): God, help!! THIS IS EXACTLY what I was journaling yesterday and I did not share it with anybody! I feel like I wanna break every one of the Ten Commandments to wrestle out of these chains like Samson chained to the temple pillar, but I worship You, God! If we’re going down, we’re all going down together. I am not here as their Playboy entertainment where the Cloud of Witnesses can look but not touch, just like a pornography addict. Anchor me in Your Kingdom peace! Give me wisdom from Above!

Matthew 26: 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

Elijah List: When We Fell, the Land Fell With Us

Matt Fitzgerald: Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for using us. Amen.

Inas Younis: Victims are entitled to a normal human response and do not have to feign piety and patience for the benefit of our communal redemption. When an injustice is inflicted, the advice to deal with it like a saint, to absorb the pain and pretend that it has made us into a better person instead of a bitter one, is often the very thing that leads grown men to atone for their emotional deprivation through the emotional manipulation of others.

Brat (in “Evidence” 14 Sept 17): Then I ask you, for sanctuary where I can continue praying and writing. This is not my career but my vocation. How will the world gain wisdom from our mistakes if the open arms don’t come from you first?

Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the LORD are sure, making wise the simple;

Clarissa Pinkola Estés: Some say the creative life is in ideas, some say it is in doing. It seems in most instances to be in a simple being. It is not virtuosity, although that is very fine in itself. It is the love of something, having so much love for something—whether a person, a word, an image, an idea, the land, or humanity—that all that can be done with the overflow is to create. It is not a matter of wanting to, not a singular act of will; one solely must. (p 298-299)

Wanda Alger: My Presence has always been the secret weapon of My people. Throughout biblical history, the greatest victories came because of My Presence, not because of man’s skills at warfare. It was My Presence that freed My people from Egypt and led them through the wilderness. It was My Presence that parted the waters of the Jordan enabling them to claim their inheritance. It was My Presence that defeated the armies that came against Jehoshaphat as they faced the enemy with shouts of victory. It was My Presence that fell in the Upper Room and empowered the saints to do what was humanly impossible. It is My Presence that opens prison doors, breaks off chains, and delivers a nation.

Inas Younis: Or, when we discover that our hero, mentor, teacher, Imam, or the pillar of our community is a fraud, a charlatan — an imposter.

Monk: Thank You, God, for another “son” in righteous Islam who can stand up and speak the Truth!

Psalm 19:9 the fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Inas Younis: And, they will not be interrupted by those who suspect their motives, because their status as spiritual giants silences and casts doubts into the hearts of those who can question them. Even when they are exposed, they will invoke high minded ideals, like radical mercy, and caution you against becoming judgmental or jealous.

Samantha Lee-Wiraatmaja: “My children, let go of your need to understand everything. Let go of your dependence on ten-step plans and tried-and-true strategies. Let go of the weight of trying to figure it out on your own, and come to Me. Many of you have grown weary, frustrated, and discouraged. It seems like one closed door after another, one failed attempt upon failed attempt. Be encouraged. That is My mercy at work in your life. In My mercy, I Am.”

Brat (26 Sept 17): Rick, I noticed I did not get your Word of the Week in my inbox. I take that as a “chassé off to the side”. I still read you.

Matthew: 21:32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him; and even after you saw it, you did not change your minds and believe him.

Matt Fitzgerald: We organized a protest in front of Moody’s president’s office. A pragmatic friend of mine said, “Why? You’re never going to change their minds. What do you think will happen?” I didn’t have an answer.

Pastor John Tolle (in “RE: Yom Kippur” 4 Oct 17): Pastors, if you don’t read you won’t lead. We can learn from books written from an experiential standpoint. Be aware that a person’s experience is not infallible.

Talitha Arnold: Both God and Samson kept that covenant. Samson had the strength and cleverness to protect Israel for 20 years. Then he fell passionately in love with a woman who was in bed (so to speak) with the Philistines. As people in love sometimes do, Samson told Delilah his secrets.  And as lovers sometimes do, she betrayed him and told the Philistines. They shaved his head as he slept in her lap.

Brat (in “Split the Baby” 01 Oct 17): Well, we’ll see what God says. King Solomon ordered a sword to cut the living baby in half (1 Ki 3:24-25) and the real mother showed her true colors and integrity. (v 26) Out of love for the baby she let him go.

Fr. Dwight Longenecker: But let’s cut to the chase. The man is dead. The question remains– is Hugh Hefner in hell?

Matt Fitzgerald: But even as we marched my friend’s question lingered. I’ve always been suspicious of the self-righteous warmth protesting fuels. I felt out of place and I thought, “What am I doing here?” That feeling intensified when a young man stepped toward me with a confused look on his face. “What are you doing here?”

Journal (in “It’s Relative” 05 Oct 17): …As I worked [at the library] I checked in with God and the universal sadness came in clearly. I thought it was because of the massacre in Las Vegas. That was on top. Then I followed the thread and down at the bottom was the all-too-familiar Universal Sadness that I get every single time I share something special, honest, and vulnerable, and I get nothing back. It’s not just Nothing. When it’s Nothing sitting inside the bubble of grace and hope and buoyed by optimism, then there’s light surrounding it. It doesn’t sink to the Nothing in the Pit. It sinks to the Pit and changes into a dark, gooey color dripping with heavy sadness when my work is read and they make a deliberate choice to do Nothing.

Well, God, I’ve never seen this spiritual distinction and coloring so clearly with the Nothing before. That’s amazing. So, now what good does it do me to have this information? So what? So, now I know they made a choice (again) to do Nothing.

There must be forward movement somewhere! Where??

I suspect the Nothing is from I hope the rabbis will send some directional clues. But maybe not. Has Sukkot (Feast of Booths) started yet?

International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (6 Oct 17): Don’t miss the Feast of Tabernacles celebration LIVE from the Dead Sea today!

Inas Younis: When we are confronted with visual or psychological contradictions to what we believe to be true, our mind’s automatic response is to recalibrate its moral compass in the direction of moral relativism. We have no choice but to conclude that appearances are not a sufficient indication of truth and goodness.

Wanda Alger: Perhaps you underestimate the supernatural power of Victory and the miraculous wonders that are available in My Presence? I call you to remember the testimonies of times past where the power of My Presence did what no army, no government, and no strategic plan could ever do. My goodness is the essence of My Presence and it is this reality that I long for the world to see, to know, and to experience.

Tony Robinson: So if you’re aren’t so sure that a self-proclaimed moral majority or someone that claims to speak for a majority is seeing clearly and acting justly, stand up and speak out. Speak for yourself. By speaking honestly and humbly for yourself, you just may — here’s a strange thing — end up speaking for more than yourself.

Inas Younis: I feel that the damage done by charlatans is often further exacerbated by well-meaning leaders who advise the victims to bear the matter with patience, as opposed to giving them the license to have a normal healthy emotional reaction. Feeding them the same spiritual language that they heard their abuser preach on countless occasions is counterproductive.

Psalm 19:11 Moreover by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

Amber Picota (7 Oct 17): The truth is that grace will meet you anywhere, in any pit of the most vile sin. But thank You Jesus, grace will not leave you where it finds you. Grace will transform people’s lives, if we’ll stop packaging it with caution tape.

Brat: It still holds no one accountable.

Clarissa Pinkola Estés: Creating one thing at a certain point in the river feeds those who come to the river, feeds creatures far downstream, yet others in the deep. Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is its power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, is fed. That is why beholding someone else’s creative word, image, idea fills us up, inspires us to our own creative work. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent. One creative act can cause a torrent to break through stone. (p 299)

Wanda Alger: I am calling out to My prayer warriors and leaders who have been faithfully praying in the midst of battle. I have seen your perseverance and your resolve for breakthrough. I know your heart to please Me and stand for what is true and right.

Fr Harvey Nicolaitan, SJ: If people object to your position you can say in all truthfulness, “But I am a priest in good standing!” You can honestly say, “I affirm everything the church teaches!” If you are a religious you can say, “My superior approves of me!” You can challenge your critics to show where in any statement you have ever departed from the church’s teachings. They will fail because you never depart from church teachings.

Wanda Alger: But, I see the weariness. I see the fatigue and feel the weight you carry in your hearts and in your prayers. Though there may be seasons of warfare, you were not created to live there. I want to show you a better way. There is no glory in battle. The glory I long to display is best poured out in the reality of My goodness.  It is time to step out of your warfare mentality and into My Presence reality.

Samantha Lee-Wiraatmaja: “This is My doing. This is a holy discontent that, if they allow, will draw them deeper into the mystery of My Being. The deeper they dive, the more they will begin to operate in My wisdom instead of human wisdom. Human wisdom and understanding is just not going to cut it in what I’m about to do. The new things I have planned will completely shatter paradigms of the past. It’s not going to work if My people try to fit My new move into old patterns of thinking, old paradigms of understanding, and old ways of doing things.”

Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is amazing in our eyes’?

Katie Barker: At the end of the springboard, I saw golden levels or steps. I saw the people of God launch forward off the springboard and land on higher levels. The golden levels represented upgrades in the spirit. The people were launching into higher assignments and the next steps in their destiny. I was surprised by how high some of the levels were. They were so much larger than a normal step. The people of God were stepping into a time of huge increase. With this increase in assignments, authority in the spirit, anointing and areas of influence, also came an increase in accountability and responsibility to steward the increase well. I also had a knowing that some nations would also launch forward this coming year into a time of huge increase, harvest and launching into the destiny over their nation.

Matt Fitzgerald: He broke into a gigantic smile. “The timing is amazing. This is amazing.”

Tony Robinson: I know one congregation where their practice is, “If you have a complaint or concern, we (the congregation’s elected and called leaders) want to hear about it. If you allow your name to go with your concern, we will bring it to the Church Council, discuss it and get back to you. If you won’t allow your name to be used, we will listen but do nothing further.” That’s a congregation inviting people to be responsible adults.

Fr Harvey Nicolaitan SJ: I am very flattered to contribute to this blog, and will be sharing with you some of the secrets of successful communication in the Catholic Church. Unlike other political institutions, the Catholic Church has a very strict set of doctrines, beliefs and moral teachings. This makes dissent within the Catholic Church a very tricky business indeed, but it can be done if you follow my simple rules and stick to them.

Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson: The Talmud then relates the story of one particular juggler during these Sukkos celebrations. This was no ordinary Jew. This was Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel (circa 10 BCE-70 CE), who held the title of head of the Sanhedrin (High Court), known as the “Nassi” (the prince of the Jewish people). A direct descendant of King David, he was the spiritual leader of the nation. During these all-night celebrating on Sukkos, Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel juggled. He kindled eight portable bonfires and juggled them, without dropping even one, and without them ever touching each other.

Isaiah 5:3 And now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and people of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard.

Israel365: A Binyaminite ran from the battlefield and reached Shiloh the same day; his clothes were rent and there was earth on his head. ~ I Samuel 4:12 (The Israel Bible™)

Rabbi Avraham Dov Auerbach of Avritch: A Delivery to All the Nations

Fr Dwight Longenecker: The attempts to find points of convergence must be balanced with a clear understanding of the truth. We must agree on the truth, not agree on some vague re-formulation of “belief statements.”

Rabbi YY Jacobson (in “A Man Had Two Sons” 01 Oct 17): “But you offer forgiveness, so that we might learn to fear you,” King David says. G-d forgives. He never asks us to be perfect, only to be accountable. He asks of us to meet Him half way. He tells each of us on Yom Kippur: I want to make this work for YOU. I want you to live the most meaningful, beautiful, successful, powerful and happy life you can. I yearn for you to help Me make your life the ultimate success story.

Inas Younis: Spiritual abusers mutilate our perceptions so that the only way to recover and not feel vulnerable is to either never trust anyone again or, to trust everyone by embracing the idea that all are worthy of forgiveness no matter how evil.

Pastor John Tolle: The Sons of Issachar joined with David and knew what Israel should do.

Fr Dwight Longenecker: I hate to be a party pooper, but like the ecumenical talks with the Anglicans, it seems to me that we are further apart than ever before on some very key issues and that on these issues which are so divisive we are on ever widening tangents.

Samantha Lee-Wiraatmaja: “I am breaking the mold of human wisdom, and it is going to require that My people are totally dependent on Me. I am doing this new thing so that My people would walk so closely with My Spirit. Without faith it is impossible to do the work that pleases Me. Sometimes, My wisdom seems simple and unassuming compared to the world’s cutting-edge strategies. But remember, sometimes the most profound truths are found in simplicity. I use the weak and foolish things to confound those who are wise in the world.”

Brat: What’s so hard about providing Sanctuary, especially when words of love have been professed? Was that all a lie? Just for show? Have you even been listening?
