All For a Cup of Coffee
The voice
Matthew 3:3 This is the one of whom the prophet Isaiah spoke when he said, “The VOICE of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.'”
Last Sunday I posted my Reflection, “I Will Seek Your Good” and that very same day this selection for the Verse of the Day arrived in my inbox:
Sunday, December 01, 2013 Bible Gateway’s Verse of the Day:
John 1:1-2, 14 (The Voice translation) –
“This Gospel begins not with Jesus’ birth or John’s baptism but with a deliberate echo of the creation story in Genesis. It takes us back before time began to the moment when God interrupts the silence and speaks the cosmos into existence. Only John’s Gospel names Jesus as the Logos and declares that He existed long before time was measured. This Greek word carries a variety of meanings, all relating to the act of speaking. It could be translated “word,” a thought that comes to expression, message, declaration, reason, or the content of preaching; most are found in various translations. It is clear that John means that logos is declared to all creation. John’s use of logos is unique and has often been rendered as “Word.” While this is a useful translation, even a casual understanding demonstrates that “Word” reflects only part of its meaning. Most readers will interpret “word” as a unit of language—a combination of sounds generally spoken but also written—that carries meaning. To understand what John means, readers need something more than their cultural understanding of “word”; they need a new way of thinking about it. This is why we have chosen to offer another rendering, an interpretive, poetic translation, of what may be one of the most theologically loaded words in Scripture. Since logos essentially refers to the act of speaking or bringing thoughts to expression, we have decided to use the word “voice” [!] to capture that reality. John declares that truth has culminated in the person of Jesus. No single word captures the complete meaning of logos, but “voice” has a number of advantages. First, “voice” manifests the act of speaking. Voice is that which is spoken and that which is heard [!]; it comes on both [!] sides of any communication event [!], bridging the gap between sender and receiver [!].”
[Me: So, why is it that I cannot bridge the communication gap between the prophets and the Churches when we are saying the same things? Ya’ think we have some more prophecy being fulfilled? There were two groups which Jesus and John the B addressed. (Matthew 3:7) So, who warned you? (v 7) Was it not the Holy Spirit Who did (and does) the gut warnings within our beings? The P and S (Pharisees and Sadducees) tried to flee the wrath of God, but Jesus was massively clear about His identity, and John was exceedingly clear about deferring to Him. (v 11) To my knowledge only One can fill the shoes of Messiah, and that is Jesus Christ! That identity is already taken. So what’s left? The voice that testifies to Him! (Rev 22:16) So why is there still talk rumbling on about identity in the prophetic circles? It’s the Message not the messenger that is important! Fellas, getta grip! (Then let it go!)]
BG continues: “John intends that in Jesus God is speaking and revealing Himself to the world. Second, a voice is distinct and personal. We can distinguish people from one another simply by their voices. In John 10 Jesus describes the fact that the sheep hear the voice of the shepherd when he calls and they follow, but they refuse to follow a stranger because they do not know his voice (John 10:1-5). John desires that we know Jesus as the Son of God and believe in Him personally as the Good Shepherd. Third, “voice” is dynamic in that it reflects the robust and powerful activity of a living God. It is historical in that any act of speaking comes to expression and takes place in the real world as a “voice” calling [!-Hello?], demanding a response [!]. It challenges any notion that the Christian faith can be reduced to rules, propositions, or doctrines that can be merely believed or dismissed and not lived out in our lives [!]. Since in Jesus God is speaking and revealing Himself to the world, and since in Jesus we hear the Voice of God, then this new reality changes everything so we, too, must change [!]. In the beginning Before time itself was measured, the Voice was speaking. The Voice was and is God. This celestial Word remained ever present with the Creator; The Voice took on flesh and became human and chose to live alongside us [!]. We have seen Him, enveloped in undeniable splendor—the one true Son of the Father—evidenced in the perfect balance of grace and truth.”
Me: The Voice really did take on flesh and became human and chose to live alongside us. He did it in Jesus and does it in every one of us who listens to Him because we change from the inside out, too! So, who’s doing the changing in my orbit? If I changed anymore I’d morph and then I wouldn’t be me, and that would corrupt the message. Repentance is about turning around and getting back on God’s balanced, harmonic track.

Who was Jesse?
“Stump of Jesse”
Isaiah 11:1 A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.
My mission is the reconciliation of the Churches through the prophets as we are all one family. But still there is no personal engagement, only virtual. I’m stumped. Where’s Jesse? (Isa 11:1)
Yesterday, a pastor posted on Twitter (which came up on Facebook):
“When u live consumed with a passion for God’s purposes u won’t wear out.”
The great irony was that I saw one of his followers say: “True. True. True. Always True.”
This SOOOO reminds me of the Dufflepuds in CS Lewis’ The Voyage of the Dawn Treader where the Duffles ALWAYS agreed with their leader no matter what he said.
And my take on this? Yawn. It’s easy for anyone to keep up their passion and not wear out if all he has around him are Yes Men, who say what he wants to hear. That way they don’t have to listen to and engage (ie, apply!) the repentance message! But talking to him is like cooking an egg in a Teflon pan. It heats up, cooks over-easy, and then slides right off.
I raised an additional ironic eyebrow on the “won’t wear out.” The Israelites’ clothes did not wear out during their forty years in the wilderness (Dt 8:4), nor did their feet swell. (v 4) The Israelites may have had Teflon-like protection, but I suspect their passion really did wear out even though their physical needs were met. If their passion hadn’t worn out, then why would God have had to tell them so many times to be strong and courageous? How many times just in Joshua Chapter 1 did God have to tell them to be strong and courageous? Hmmm… (Joshua 1:6, 7, 9, 18) … that’s four times in one small chapter! And God gives instructions:
Joshua 1: 14 Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, ready for battle, must cross over ahead [!] of your fellow Israelites. You are to help them [!] 15 until the LORD gives them [the fighting men] rest, as he has done for you, and until [!] they too have taken possession of the land the LORD your God is giving them. After that [!], you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.”
The ‘Sons of Issachar’ must cross over to engage the Church ahead of their fellow prophets (and ahead of the general Church-at-large.) They are to help the Church until the Lord gives them rest, as He as done for them in their personal journeys, and until they have made peace in this religious land which is so foreign to them. For the land of doctrine and ritual is totally alien to the prophets. But if they really listened and watched, I’m sure they’d be amazed at how they’d see many, many Biblical symbols come to life with much richer meaning.
Each Church has their favorite cause, but not one ever addressed the issues in their own house before tackling an issue to help beyond their borders. They bypassed the home-hearth to pick up the Crusade somewhere else. Then they tried to ride the circuit wave. Yep, passion does go pretty far. At the cost of how many dead bodies? Just so you can protect your cause-gone-idol? So you don’t have to look at the thorn in your own paw?
12:22 pm So, who was Jesse? (Isa 11:1) He was King David’s father. The prophet Samuel was sent to Jesse to select a king for Israel from among his sons. (1 Sam 16:1) Seven of Jesse’s sons paraded in front of Samuel and the Lord chose none of them. (v 10) I imagine it must have been like Prince Charming going around the kingdom trying on the glass slipper until he found Cinderella. In the biblical story, the shepherd boy David was “Cinderella.” He had to be called in from the pasture. Cindy had to crash the party at the front door, — or something —I’m a bit rusty on my fairy tales now that I don’t work with the developmentally disabled population. In any case, I’m feeling stumped. Stump of Jesse! The Holy Spirit passed over seven of Jesse’s sons just as He passed over all seven of the Seven Churches. “The LORD has not chosen these.” (v 10) And yet God wants to reconcile the Churches.
More Stumped
Monday, December 02, 2013 at 6:27 am I posted to Lance Wallnau on Facebook:
Dear Lance,
I’ve been thinking some more about this idea of favor and your question: “Do you understand what it is that favor comes to accomplish?” In my case with the Church and the prophets, FAVOR is supposed to accomplish reconciliation. I have no idea where decisions are being made. I have conveyed the message: The prophets are supposed to go to the priest. (Dt 26:3)
In my special Reflection for Thanksgiving Day (“A World Within a World”) I had written:
“Jacob was a wandering Aramean and our ancestor. (v 5) Jews, Christians, and Muslims honor Jacob. We all relate. The company of prophets is supposed to go to the priest who is in office at the time. (It doesn’t say High Priest or somebody elevated to Untouchable status.) And yet we’re all still wandering; moving like a collective mass of amoeba around the mosque at the Dome of the Rock, and the prophets still do … Nothing! They know the details. There is no blind confusion at play here. What are they waiting for? (John 6:26) Just as Jesus promised, we have indeed drunk from His cup. (Mt 20:23)”
They do know the details. There is no confusion. So I ask of you, Lance, to please connect Bobby Conner and the ‘Sons of Issachar’ with Fr David Galletly in Thousand Oaks, CA. Fr David has the gift of mercy. You said: “Favor releases divine promotability on your life in the presence of rulers.” Are the spiritual “rulers” thinking of the people? I really don’t know what they’re thinking. You said:
… “In every case favor opened a door to the top and presented a gate where Gods people “sat with their enemies at the gate” and safeguarded their fellow Jews by being present where the decisions were made.”
Are God’s people sitting with their enemies at the gate and safeguarding their fellow Christians by being present where the decisions are being made? If so, are they just gonna keep sitting there? That’s the same old thing they’ve been doing all along: Guarding the tomb. (Mt 27:64) Jesus came as a servant on behalf of the Truth of God. (Rom 15:8) He confirmed the promises given to the patriarchs. (v 8) He came so that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy. (v 9) We are to confess Christ among the Gentiles (v 9) and sing praises to His name! (v 9) How are the Gentiles supposed to rejoice with His people (v 10) if the leaders are still mute and frozen? And Untouchable. John the Baptist told the Pharisees and Sadducees (Mt 3:7):
Mt 3:8 Bear fruit worthy of repentance.
Someone on Facebook quoted: “Favor is the affection of God towards you that releases an influence through you so that other people are inclined to like, trust and cooperate w/you.” Well, I truly need the affection of God, because a repentance message has never been a popular one throughout history, and I picked up my camel hair cloak and leather belt (Mt 3:4) from the dry cleaners, so it is fresh. [Tongue in cheek.] ~ kh
So now, I guess my question is, since God passed over seven of Jesse’s sons, and God passed over the Seven Churches, then do Bobby and Fr David form a “branch” (branches) that shall grow out of Jesus’ roots? (Isa 11:1) Jesus is the “shoot” that comes out of the “stump of Jesse” [King David], right? (v 1) The Spirit of the LORD rests upon Jesus (v 2), right? Aren’t they supposed to stand as a signal to the peoples? (v 10)
Isa 11:10 On that day the root of Jesse shall stand as a signal to the peoples; the nations shall inquire of him, and his dwelling shall be glorious.
Lord, are we “on that Day” yet?
A tree is supposed to produce fruit worthy of repentance. (Mt 3:8) Lord, would You please graft the “branches” of the prophets and the Churches into Your healthy Tree of LIFE? So far You’ve done all the work of raising up the “stones” as Children of Abraham (v 9). You told us not to presume (v 9) and yet we have done precisely what You told us NOT to do. (v 9) Lord, PLEASE baptize us with the “fire” of Your Holy Spirit! (v 11)
Me, Lance, and More Camels
Lance Wallnau: “In Hebrew the letters represent both numbers and words. Pretty cool, huh? So a “3” is also the “Gimmel” but it is also the world for CAMEL.” (Posted on 02 Dec 13)
Me to myself: I had made contact. … I had reached out. …
Guardian Angel: Try. That’s all God asks of any of us. All we can do is try.
Still waiting and lumbering like a camel across the desert! …
Is this journey just a mirage?
The Voice: “Stand as a signal” … (Isa 11:10)
Me to Lance on Facebook: Wednesday, December 04, 2013 at 8:22 am
Dear Lance,
You asked in another article: “Do you understand what it is that favor comes to accomplish?”
Trumpet: In my case with the Church and the prophets, FAVOR is supposed to accomplish reconciliation.
You said in this article: “The camel is the cruise ship of the dessert that carries the treasure or resource.”
Trumpet: It was also a camel which carried Rachel’s household idols in the saddlebags. (Gen 31:34) The Church has been sitting on her idols. [Gasp!]
You said: “When the old source dried up God caused the man of God to cross over into a realm outside of the RELIGIOUS SYSTEMS of that day.”
Trumpet: The company of prophets is outside the religious systems of our day. Just like Joshua, we are called to cross over our “Jordan” [fears] ahead of our fellow Christians (Joshua 1:14) and to help them make peace in the old religious land, which is so foreign to them. (v 15) After all, Sandie Freed did speak Truth when she said that the Church does not believe there have been prophets since John the Baptist. So I challenge the prophets to upgrade their identity and confront the lie.
You said: “The “4” for 2014 is the new piece to the puzzle. It’s the word “Dalet” and is a Hebrew word for “door.” It is also a word symbolizing a poor man receiving from a rich man.”
Trumpet: The Church is the “poor man.” (Rev 3:17) The prophets must literally walk through the Church-as-Institution’s doors! This is not a virtual head trip or a prayer day hike! This is REAL! I don’t buy the argument that crossing over the dried up resources of old religious systems (like dancing on a grave?) is a message of reconciliation. That’s a message of avoidance and cowardice. Four times just in Joshua Chapter 1 God told the Israelites to be strong and courageous!
You said: “A Gentile woman and her son will be taken care of along with the Prophet!”
Trumpet: I am a woman of God from the religious camp and have “crossed over” into the prophetic camp. Both camps are God’s domain, so why are the Churches and the prophets still presuming that God will do all the work to raise up “stones” of Abraham (Mt 3:9), when we are called to testify? (Rev 12:11; Rev 22:16) My testimony (Bride’s Voice) is now 1,844 pages [!] long and stands at 1,001,720 (that’s million) words. And it’s still growing. How is the “Tree Shoot” [Jesus], which came out of the stump of Jesse (Isa 11:1), supposed to branch out, when the Church and the prophets are still sitting on their saddlebagged camels? (Remember the strain of the camel through the eye of the needle? (Mt 19:24)) Are they really that comfortable? Or are they brooding? (Mt 3:7)
Trumpet: We all have gifts and the gifts compliment one another. In a previous post I had asked you to connect Fr David Galletly and Bobby Conner. I said that Fr David has the gift of Mercy. Bobby Conner has the gift of Truth. Our gifts and callings are irrevocable. (Ro 11:29) Truth is balanced with mercy. Hello? There’s your “door” – “Dalet” – “poor man receiving from a rich man.”) Have you ever met someone with the gift of Mercy? Now that’s a rich gift! If the brook of resources is dried up, then walk on dry land! (Jos 3:17) But where are they walking to? In more circles? How much courage does it take for Truth to meet Mercy? If Jacob could meet Esau (Gen 33:4) then why can’t the ‘Sons of Issachar’ (company of prophets) meet the priest? ~kh
Wednesday, December 04, 2013 at 5:14 pm My priest left a message on my phone that we should get together for coffee.
And my feelings? Doesn’t a chariot have two wheels? Where are the prophets? For the sake of God’s kingdom and reconciliation, both sides of the Church AND the Prophets must meet at the table. We can’t make His paths straight if we’re on a lopsided chariot with only one wheel.
Matthew 3:3 This is the one of whom the prophet Isaiah spoke when he said, “The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight [!].'”
Wed, Dec 4, 2013 at 5:48 PM Jim Goll said in his monthly word: “You Can Be a Carrier of His Fire!”
Live Coals of Fire!
“Here Am I, Send Me!
…During that time, I heard the Lord say to me, “I am coming to see if there is any fire on your altar.” That was a little scary to me. After all, I had written about this and taught it. I had loved it and tried to impart it to others. Now the Lord Himself was saying to me, “I’m going to do a house inspection and see if there is anything more than just talk and revelation and gifts.”
… With holy yearnings, this is my Epistle of Passion written to you!”

Wed, Dec 4, 2013 at 7:36 pm Lance Wallnau posted on Facebook: “You Are Confined Only By the Walls You Build Yourself.”
[Me: Oh, really? Is that what Jesus told John the Baptist when JB was thrown in prison? Or did Jesus send him encouragement? (Jn 11:4)
And still the silence of solitary confinement drones on because three cannot connect.]
Lance: “God isn’t looking for you to have SUCCESS, He’s looking for you to have PRE-EMINENCE!
Your challenge is to carve out a unique place in the conversation occurring in your field. You have something original in you – if you just dig deep enough. Let other people compare themselves to each other and struggle over who is king of the hill.”
[Me to myself: And how do I get them talking together when everything in this world seems to be virtual rather than incarnate real?]
Then the following morning I opened my inbox. I had JUST had a discussion last night with Jesus over the word “thief,” because Satan’s job is to steal, kill, and destroy (Jn 10:10), which makes him a thief, but Jesus calls Himself a “thief” in Revelation 16, so I was stumped again. Clearly there’s been a lot of messages that aren’t getting to the intended parties and thievery is afoot. Words are being stolen, just as God said would happen! (Jeremiah 23:29-32) The Lord wasn’t making this virtual to incarnate slope any easier by messin’ with terms.
Rev 16: 15 “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
Now this verse translation from John showed up in my inbox and this made sense, so I didn’t feel quite so stumped over Jesse-Jesus and terms. Now I was just still stumped over us humans and our lack of being able to come together to reconcile by crossing the great canyon of the Grand Silence.]
Bible Gateway Verse of the Day: John 10:7, 9-10 (The Voice)
So He explained further.
Jesus: I tell you the truth: I am the gate of the sheep. I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be liberated, will go in and go out, and will find pastures. The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance.
Thursday, December 05, 2013 at 8:54 am I sent this email to James Goll as Reply to his monthly word, “You Can Be a Carrier of His Fire!”:
Passion for Christ
Dr Jim, I have not found anything more than just talk and revelation and gifts (Jeremiah 23:16-40 fulfilled). To turn the tides from virtual to incarnate, would you care to join Fr David Galletly and me at the table? ~Kathryn Hauser
Thursday, December 05, 2013 at 8:59 am I forwarded the same to Fr David, so we’d all be “on the same page.” Also, I wanted to convey the message that once prophecy has been fulfilled; forgive, acknowledge, bless and let it go!
Thu, Dec 5, 2013 at 9:44 AM From Fr David: subject: RE: You Can Be a Carrier of His Fire!
Hi, Kathryn!
How are you?
It’s great to hear from you, and I hope you got my phone message from yesterday.
Call of e-mail back if you are in the area and have time for a cup of coffee.
Fr. David
Clearly Fr David was trying to make a connection. This was one arm. We need two …
But what’s this?…
Friday, December 06, 2013 Silence from the prophets. Well, I should say silence on the incarnate level. In the Astros there was plenty of screaming:
Fri, Dec 6, 2013 at 6:21 AM On the Elijah List: subject: Bob Jones: People Are Issuing False Decrees Against America!
Friday, December 06, 2013 Then I saw this Huffington Post Headline: “Louie Gohmert: Atheists Should Encourage Worship To Protect The Country!”
Fri, Dec 6, 2013 at 10:13 PM [Later insert: Part of the swirl, nonetheless.] Kim Clement: subject: The Wind, the Fire and the Shift About to Take Place
I looked at these and I saw the energetic swirl. Just because my head knows and my eyes “see,” doesn’t mean I can do anything about it. The head is no comfort. Only Jesus can intervene to make Himself known in a way that people understand. And it’s true; people really should “encourage worship to protect the country”!
I anchored in my covenantal relationship with Jesus Christ and dove into prayer below the swirl.
Friday, December 06, 2013 at 8:23 am I turned my attention to my task at hand (literally) and wrote. Me to Fr David:
Good to hear from you, too, Fr David! I did get your phone message; thank you so much! I am keeping the invitation for coffee in mind. The Wisdom part of my heart knows that someone from the prophet camp should be present at the table with us. I will explain:
God wants to use the prophets to instigate the reconciliation of the Churches. For at least the last year, the prophets have confirmed this vision through their daily and monthly writings. The catch is that I cannot engage them. They remain untouchable. The prophets are mute and detached no matter how clear I am (and the prophets are really hammering the word “clarity” right now.) I’m really glad God is in the miracle business, because this is another Mission Impossible. I know. I’ve tried. Can’t do it. All the more room for God to show off!
I am well. Thank you for asking. I am still parking and praying all day, every day in my car and am heading into my seventh Christmas of doing this. I understand God a bit more now and the humans a whole lot less. What a crazy-mad, mashugana, journey! Other than that I am sane and at peace in my blood.
I should go around singing this chorus about myself in honor of the ‘Sound of Music’ coming back around:
“How do you solve a problem like Maria? How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?”
Oy vey! ~k
Friday, December 06, 2013 at ~ 9 am I got on Facebook and saw Lance Wallnau’s post:
“Stop trying to make ends meet and start making endings. What you are called to do is too important to dissipate in trying to fit into other peoples worlds or agendas. It is time you let the world feel the impact of a new idea. [Me: Reconciliation is a terribly old idea.] Originality has boldness in it. Be an original. You’ll find that the clearer you are the more bold you will be. You are authorized to make things happen.”

“Stop making ends meet and begin making clear endings. You know you have a clear ending when you have new starts. DO the thing you’ve been afraid to do.”” (Posted 06 Dec 13 at 1:03 am)
Friday, December 06, 2013 at 11:11 am I had logged off the computer and then got back on. (I needed to pray in some courage first.) Then I wrote Lance back on Facebook:
Ok, Lance, I will do the bold thing I’ve been afraid to do. I invite YOU to come have coffee with Fr David Galletly and me. To my knowledge, chariots have two wheels. [Smile!] ~k
[Ended up receiving silence.]

Saturday, December 07, 2013 at 2:10 am Lance posted: [and at 9:23 am I posted my comments. You know how I just can’t shut up…]
“Stars can’t shine without darkness. [Stars also need encouragement before they go out altogether.]

According to 2nd Peter the Morningstar shines at night from within. It is an internal guidance when all around is black. It “rises within you…”
…The term “Morningstar” caught my attention in all this drama. It’s an interesting term used in the book of Revelations chapter 2 to describe those who OVERCOME JEZEBEL. [Excuse me, is there a lie being perpetrated against me that I am perhaps Jezebel incarnate? If that’s the case, that sucks. If it is paranoia on my part because of years of solitary confinement due to preaching the Repentance Message, then I am “beheaded” again, and that sucks.]

“To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery —just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give that one the MORNING STAR.” In Revelations chapter 2, the “morning star” is a reward for overcoming Jezebel.
We expect this “rule” when Jesus returns, but what about till then?

Jezebel is not just a seducing power but a political power. It wants to cut off the prophetic voice [!]. Symbolized in the team that cut off the head and voice of the Prophet John the baptist. [That’s what I have been saying, too!] Herod’s wife (politics) and dancing daughter (seduction) are a team. In Washington DC this spirit is so strong it almost suffocating.

Jezebel is involved with religious control. [I know! That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you! I’ve been trying to break that religious spirit of control for almost seven years now!] She was all about false Baal worship and even confronted Elijah. [There are clearly times when I feel like Elijah, and I have been “confronted” [more like bulldozed and pulverized] by Jezebel several times. There are no polite words for her spirit.] This is a religious political spirit [absolutely true] – and it is even in church today [yes, it is!], whoever there is an overdoing need to control [yes; so, therefore, is it not prudent to enter the ranks where there is an opening?] – and this type of church is on a collision course with a Prophetic Elijah mantled new breed. …” [Good! So, therefore, I make a general All Call to the suffocating silence out there, to tell that worm spirit that I am not Jezebel! Jezebel would not seek your good. So even though the crushing silence continues, and I cannot accomplish engagement of gathering all parties (or even half of them) at the table, I do know that Jesus is LORD. HE drives the chariot! Including chariots with two wheels, one wheel of the Church and one wheel of the Prophets! I will seek your good! And tell that to Rick Joyner, too!]
I got one “like” from a reader, Carolyn Reed.

Lord, You said, “…and a little child shall lead them.” (Isa 11:6) For years the prophets have been talking about the youth playing a key role in the global awakening. Will one young prophet join the chariot now? Maybe I should put in an order for hot chocolate instead of coffee.

11:2 The spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

11:3 His delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear;

11:4 but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.

11:5 Righteousness shall be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his loins.

11:6 The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them.

72:3 May the mountains yield prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness.

72:4 May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the needy, and crush the oppressor.

72:5 May he live while the sun endures, and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

72:6 May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth.

72:7 In his days may righteousness flourish and peace abound, until the moon is no more.

72:18 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.

72:19 Blessed be his glorious name forever; may his glory fill the whole earth. Amen and Amen.

Romans 15:4-13
15:4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.

15:5 May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus,

15:6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15:7 Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

15:8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of the truth of God in order that he might confirm the promises given to the patriarchs,

15:9 and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore I will confess you among the Gentiles, and sing praises to your name”;

15:10 and again he says, “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people”;

15:11 and again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him”;

15:12 and again Isaiah says, “The root of Jesse shall come, the one who rises to rule the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles shall hope.”

15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:1-12
3:1 In those days John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness of Judea, proclaiming,

3:2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

3:3 This is the one of whom the prophet Isaiah spoke when he said, “The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.'”

3:4 Now John wore clothing of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.

3:5 Then the people of Jerusalem and all Judea were going out to him, and all the region along the Jordan,

3:6 and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

3:7 But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

3:8 Bear fruit worthy of repentance.

3:9 Do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our ancestor’; for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

3:10 Even now the ax is lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

3:11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

3:12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and will gather his wheat into the granary; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
